Ice Ice Baby
The footballing gods really weren’t smiling upon Newcastle stopper Martin Dúbravka yesterday.
Before a ball was kicked, ice from the Wembley stadium roof did its level best to knock his block off.
Also, in truth, Son’s 83rd minute 20-yard strike should have been a fairly routine save for Newcastle stopper Martin Dúbravka.
Hopefully Dúbravka managed to get home safely with a third bad thing happening to him.
That would mean focusing on the football.
Or as Daniel calls it, ‘heresy’.
All our current ‘success’ makes me wonder about what we could have achieved had we binned the cheese factory (staying at WHL) and instead invested in new players.
How vanilla ice got away with teafing bowies riff ill never know. David should’ve put him “under pressure 🙂
It was very odds, seeing big chunks of ice fall on to the pitch. Was happening from before kickoff until well past full time. Doesn’t the roof slope away from the pitch?
As to the action on the pitch, Lucas was poor throughout. He dribbles without ever looking up. Lamela was indeed let down by Trippier’s fear of being caught out of position. Vertonghen was excellent in a position he evidently loathes. Second poor game in a row from Eriksen. Against watford he couldn’t beat the first man. Yesterday wasn’t much better.
