Bournemouth. The Cherries.
Fan favourite and Eric Dier is to be assessed ahead of tomorrow’s big match after injuring his elbow against European royalty, Juventus.
Dier does have his critics but he’s one of the most involved players in the entire Premier League. The boy has made 1,986 passes placing him as the 8th busiest passing boy in the division for the 2017/18 season.
A part of me has to wonder if my permanent struggle to appreciate Dier isn’t somewhat married to his heavy contribution to Spurs’ all too often utterly meaningless possession stats?
For example. Dier has so far this season made 21 crosses. Of which a beyond pitiful 19% were accurate.
Don’t be downhearted though, his shot accuracy is much better. That’s currently sitting pretty at 22%. The 24 year old has taken 27 shots on goal and only 6 were on target. In many but not all respects, the lad is a bonefide time waster.
On an upbeat note, Harry Kane will be itching to get back into the groove tomorrow teatime against Bournemouth. The boy has solid league form against the Cherries scoring six in his last four appearances against them.
