Late Bid From Spurs?

By The Boy -

Another one to file under ‘stupid and lazy’, this time from The Sun.

One hundred and 34 year old Dani Alves is on the brink of joining Manchester City, and it took Martin Blackburn and Lee Astley of the Current Bun to bring us this footballing confection.

Given Alves’ vintage, it’s difficult to comprehend which competitive Premier League side would want to pay him to gallop about at right back for them.

The Sun are genuinely suggesting that City are on the verge of signing both Bonzo and Alves. And that Tottenham are plotting a sneaky hijack for the ‘Samba Star’.

Which means Spurs want to replace one of the highest rated defenders in the league with a pensioner, and that City – who are supposedly looking to mount a comeback after last term’s anonymous showing – are opting for experience over ability.

Alves’ ship sailed some time ago.

Chelsea are also Sellotaped onto this tale and again, I’m struggling to  see Conte being any more interested in Alves than Pochettino would be.
