Home » Lamela Scandal

The saga (and saga it has very definitely become) of Erik Lamela has surely come to a head.

Last seen in a Spurs shirt in late December, our club record signing made only 9 appearances before he was sidelined with an injury that would ordinarily mean an absence of perhaps a few weeks. Tops.

Now, we know that THFC’s idea of public relations is something you can get pinched for on Hamstead Heath, but the communication on this whole business has been nonexistent.

Does anyone else find it peculiar that Lamla doesn’t sit with the squad players, or even in the stadium for games at The Lane?

He’s not that injured, after all, he’s well enough to have recently enjoyed a day out in Golder’s Hill Park in London.

Casually, as an afterthought, we were eventually told that Erik had a back injury. If this had been a peripheral figure at the club it might be understandable that nobody would be all that bothered. bad luck, get well soon.

But this guy cost a fortune. We’ve never spent as much on a player before. And forgive me for pressing the matter, but it’s hardly the case that we’re flush with options and a £30m player is neither here or there to us.

As per the last blog, it’s clearly a situation that Tim isn’t fussed about, but then lap dogs rarely play up.

But now, the situation has deteriorated to the extent that Lamela has been pulled from even attending a signing session at The Megastore today.

The official site published the following “update” on the signing at 0600hrs this morning. Could it possibly be that there is a scandal lurking beneath all this?
