Tottenham Hotspur

Kane Will Never Leave

Kane Will Never Leave

Darren Anderson said: “I would certainly like to think Harry Kane will stay at Spurs for his whole career but there will be plenty of offers for him over the years,”

“That will be hard for Tottenham to turn down and for Harry himself and maybe his head will get turned a bit.

“But he is a genuine, grounded loyal lad who wants to do well for the club he’s with and if things stay as they are I don’t think Harry will want to go anywhere else.

“The new stadium is coming and a group of players have come through together who all seem to get on well.

“He has a manager who gets the best out of his players and at the moment things are as rosy as they can be without winning the league.

“He could earn a lot more money at other places but he doesn’t seem to be guided by money.”

It was a much bigger achievement for Leicester without doubt, although clearly still a one season wonder.

You could put it largely down to the fact likes of Cheatski, Manure, Citeh and Liverpool were in transition with new managers etc. it would have been impossible for them to have won it this season in my opinion as everyone around them have improved.

Cheatski have a huge wage and transfer budget and have had no European games to contend with, which particularly early in the season can affect league points.

No reason for Chelsea to be wearing that away kit last night, other than commercially driven ones.

Batshuayi scores the winner. Paul Mitchell was probably having a little chuckle somewhere.

Fellas… I am sorry this has had such a drastic effect on so many of you.

However… two short seasons ago, most would have been over the moon to have CL places nailed on for 2 seasons in a row, and to show such streamlined improvements over what the style of play was then.

Batman did not win the title for them earlier. Every single play they made over the season that contributed to preventing each goal against, creating and securing each goal for… won their title.

    — and our lads gave them a hell of a battle.

We are allowed to be proud of that.

    Cheers, guys and gals.

God bless Daniel Levy and his ninja brainwashing skills 🤣

    • A waddle and a fork May 13, 2017 at 12:38 am

Daniel knew what the outpouring would be today so pre-empted it by going to the Standard and saying we will not be spending any money any time soon under his watch. The irony is that he makes out its smart but he never talks of the money he wastes on pure SHITE. If I never see Jannsen Sissoko or half that bench and Lamella again i would not give a shit. I knew Batisyuhi would score – he finally made the difference – very symbolic

Given his valuation /positive attributes IMO it’s a risk worth taking.

  • David Dillenberg May 12, 2017 at 10:43 pm

“It is thoroughly deserved. They have been the best team this season.

“The changes Conte has made to change their season around can’t be underestimated.

“When their backs have been against the wall tonight, they defended well. This game typified Chelsea’s season. How many winners they have in their team makes them special.

“But tactically, individually, what Conte has done with these players and to bring them together is sensational.”

        • Spurstacus 💋 May 12, 2017 at 5:04 pm

It’s a dilemma. I think I might prefer to sit my mates, but a Club Wembley seat for a season is a one off. How is the atmosphere (already poor) likely to be affected?

          • MM May 12, 2017 at 5:10 pm

I’m about to object to the proposed opening of a Betting Shop near my gaff. An exercise in futility I suspect, speshly as the grounds upon which to object are limited and legislation informs Local Authorities to approach planning applications from a starting point of “aim to permit”

And we have to repeat this exercise season after next…as you point out.
    I don’t mind change….I’m paying for it.

Do you know where you want to sit?
I was just pointing out that with the other 48,000 seats available you had a good chance of sitting with your mates, although they might want to sit with Nutty Fanny and me as you do come across as rather grumpy 😡

    • Freund or Foe May 12, 2017 at 3:45 pm

I would suggest that anyone rather grumpy be kept in a seat well away from Nutty.

    • Bruxie May 12, 2017 at 3:55 pm

I want a seat commensurate with my existing plot.

With my mates…who have been given seats in a different block.

I am only grumpy when I feel I’m being disadvantaged.

Let’s say you, Nutty & Fanny were put somewhere apart.

      God forbid.

      • Sexy Beast May 12, 2017 at 4:00 pm

Well it is different for me as i have sat on my tod (lonely pint) for almost all the games (16 prem) this season, although i was next but one to Fanny for the demolition of West Brom, mind you that was in the Park Lane so we had to stand and iv’e only got little legs 🙁

£725 for a seat @ Wembley away from the people that I normally sit with.

I have to wait until after 23rd to see if there is a better option.

At least they put me in the west end. It doesn’t deserve capital letters

    NOT LIKE THE SOUTH STAND.

    Bloody hell.

    • Bruxie May 12, 2017 at 2:54 pm

      Stand with…;)

    • Freund or Foe May 12, 2017 at 2:55 pm

If you don`t get the Wembley season ticket, do you get taken off the list for the new stadium?

      • Bruxie May 12, 2017 at 2:56 pm

Yep. non renewal = waiting list again.

        • Freund or Foe May 12, 2017 at 2:56 pm

          That`s so fucking wrong.

            • Freund or Foe May 12, 2017 at 3:00 pm

The seats have to be filled, that`s an unfortunate truth, but I don`t like this one bit.

              • Bruxie May 12, 2017 at 3:03 pm

                It’s a bit like dementia.

You meet new friends every game.

Levy is trying to foster new freindships within the Spurs Community.

          • Citizen Smozz May 12, 2017 at 3:03 pm

Not really mate, they will offer seats you don’t have to take them and there will be a chane later on to re jig your seating arrangements so you can sit with your mates. Lucky to have a season ticket, MK as the other option was fair to offer the one season opt out but Wembely? Was never going to happen.
How much was your season ticket this year Bruxie in comparison?

            • Citizen Smozz May 12, 2017 at 3:04 pm

              Chance

              • Bruxie May 12, 2017 at 3:05 pm

Those seats will probably have gone. Get real.

                • Citizen Smozz May 12, 2017 at 3:06 pm

Maybe at those prices, but 42,000 season tickets leaves 48,000 other options……………
you should get to sit with your usual pals imo

                  • Bruxie May 12, 2017 at 3:08 pm

                    Can you guarantee that?

                    • Citizen Smozz May 12, 2017 at 3:23 pm

I have seen the email sent out to ST holders as my pal forwarded his on to me, I’d say it would be highly unlikely that they can’t find X amount of seats next to each other for you and your friends, the only snag i see is if some of them don’t want to move to another part of the ground.
But hey its a stadium move, it was never going to be totally smooth just like next years move won’t be either.
We are creatures of comfort and don’t like change..

            • Bruxie May 12, 2017 at 3:06 pm

              £70 cheaper.

              But no cup games.

              • Citizen Smozz May 12, 2017 at 3:11 pm

Easy fella, what facts was i trying to point out?
I would love a season ticket, but realise those who have been year in year out are more deserving then me.

                • Bruxie May 12, 2017 at 3:18 pm

I paid £50 per year to be a bronze member…8 yrs.

                  On the waiting list.

            • Freund or Foe May 12, 2017 at 3:08 pm

But it`s not really lucky to have a season ticket, you`ve got a season ticket because you`ve been a loyal client for donkeys years, or you`ve waited patiently for your opportunity to get one, no luck involved. I get the financial side, I just feel it`s a kick in teeth that could have been considered more carefully, and compromises made.

              • Citizen Smozz May 12, 2017 at 3:12 pm

I don`t think so. Even if I was of the opinion that you are opinionated because of your opt out option opinion, I wouldn`t take any notice, I`m off my face on opium.

60m on Shitsokko and Ladymela was sensible was it? Or was he trying to prove a point?

Ok, Lamela was cheap shot but this idea that the spending is sensible is rubbish.

None of our players are in anyway ‘locked in’ at Spurs. All the contracts do is guarantee the maximum sale price that the market can stand.
Levy’s biggest hurdle is surviving Wembley, next summer’s transfer window could be absolute f**king carnage.

Is there such a thing as a player being locked in at any club?

    • Harry Hotspur May 12, 2017 at 1:17 pm

      Of course not, no!

The wage structure will increase as and when revenue increases. Our wage structure fixes total salary costs at something like 55-60% of our income, so the increased revenue from the stadium should allow us to pay more wages, but we’ll never be in the £150-200k a week bracket.

Of course we will. Once stadium debts are cleared, we’ll be matching wages paid by dips and goons etc..

    • ronwol196061 May 12, 2017 at 11:23 am

The key is to keep the quality on the field growing. There is a great need by the fans to win things. This is the prize for the fans but its not easy given the competition and the grueling season in this league..so increments of growth are on the cards. We will lose some players here and there but if we dont keep Kane relatively happy we will be in trouble.
A huge offer for Dele and he is gone I think. Walker gone. but that will bring in a lot of money.
Lamela hopefully will get a chance and maybe he will grow up quickly. If not he will be off and the money can be used for someone that has success at the top level.Trippier will get his chance and a suitable right back can be brought in where they can share the duties.

      • Ronwol1960-61 May 12, 2017 at 11:39 am

        The dream of buying two top notch players now is not going to happen.Its just not. The wage structure wont change that much either. Maybe a little.( I think by the way players should get huge bonuses rather that huge pay packets with no guarantees but that’s not going to happen soon}
So we can expect a couple of changes and if we can keep status quo and Poch has the power to win a small pot.Thats will do for the next season and then we can kick it up for the inaugural season at the new KFC Superstadium with some additional name players like KFC Isco Inc

        • McG ⚽⚽ May 12, 2017 at 12:05 pm

Ron, we don’t need two superstars. One player along the lines of Isco, Tielemans, Barkley, one additional backup striker & a new right back. I think we can get 40 mil for Walks, will be very diasappointed with anything less. If he goes to a premier league rival, they have to pay a premium, especially given he’s English. Add to that pot the 15mil for Bentalimb + other sales, clinton, poss sissy & On&On. We should be looking at a pot of around 65 mil this summer.

          • ronwol196061 May 12, 2017 at 12:07 pm

We will still keep it conservative this summer i think.
Next summer they will buy an iconic name

            • McG ⚽⚽ May 12, 2017 at 12:16 pm

I think Poch we have any money from sales to spend. I don’t see him letting us stagnate for a season, especially one where we need a boost. We might not be offering CL footy end of next season either. We have champions league footy to contend with this season coming, can’t see him messing around. I’d have thought trying to ensure we have champions league footie for our first season in our new stadium more important too.

  • VincentianMagic May 12, 2017 at 10:42 am

Ideally Kane stays for at least two more seasons, by which time we gave ‘survived’ Wembley and are back home playing well.

IMO we should look at Dembele at Celtic and if Vinny departs, then one other (King or Rodriguez for example).
If we can shift N’Jie and N’Koundo and bring in a genuine pacy winger such as Gray then that would be good too and give us options.
Sissy should go and perhaps someone like Klassen take his place. Wimmer out and Maguire or Keane in; then just needs a replacement for Walker.

Winks and Lamela back next season will help too.

We need pace and creativity on the bench as when Eriksen isn’t doing it, we can struggle. Also to be able to rest Ali, Kane and Dembele without fear would help.

  • Camus May 12, 2017 at 10:30 am

    Just to clarify something…
On the one hand you have Kane who earns £80k-a-week.
And on the other, you have Aguero who earns £165k-a-week.
They’re obviously both massive wages to you and I, but one is more massive than the other…

    • Freund or Foe May 12, 2017 at 10:33 am

      Agree, Kane is much taller.

    • AccringtonSpurs May 12, 2017 at 10:33 am

I wonder if the wage structure will increase with the new stadium.

Alternatively, the (comparative) frugality of the finances over the long-term is likely part of the creditors agreement.

      • Gus May 12, 2017 at 10:38 am

It will depend on if an incoming owner has looser pockets and Danny and Joe

      • UnkleTaff May 12, 2017 at 10:50 am

The wage structure will increase as and when revenue increases. Our wage structure fixes total salary costs at something like 55-60% of our income, so the increased revenue from the stadium should allow us to pay more wages, but we’ll never be in the £150-200k a week bracket.

Ace. I’m looking forward to the ceremony. Poor Chas has had throat cancer, but they caught it early.

  • UnkleTaff May 12, 2017 at 10:11 am

Harry Kane can, and will, realise all his professional ambitions with this football club.

    He ain’t going anywhere.

    • AccringtonSpurs May 12, 2017 at 10:22 am

Aguero hasn’t gone anywhere. yet. it’s possible for clubs to hold onto their best players.

      • Camus May 12, 2017 at 10:24 am

Guy’s on a massive wage which certainly helps…

        • UnkleTaff May 12, 2017 at 10:26 am

So are most of the Spurs players.

          • Camus May 12, 2017 at 10:26 am

            Yes. Yes they are.

            • UnkleTaff May 12, 2017 at 10:28 am

Sorry, is clearing £10m after deductions over five years not enough for you?

              • Camus May 12, 2017 at 10:31 am

No. My agent and I would like more, please.

        • AccringtonSpurs May 12, 2017 at 10:26 am

Yes, and Harry has Spurs in his blood. much more valuable.

  • Harry Hotspur May 12, 2017 at 10:01 am

None of our players are in anyway ‘locked in’ at Spurs. All the contracts do is guarantee the maximum sale price that the market can stand.

Levy’s biggest hurdle is surviving Wembley, next summer’s transfer window could be absolute f**king carnage.

    • caveman May 12, 2017 at 10:09 am

Because I totally with your words H, the quicker we are taken over by a group or individual that will pay the going rate the better.

      • 89Spurs 👁 May 12, 2017 at 10:14 am

It’s not just the going rate for players, it’s how much the agents can screw out of the clubs as well. Look at the Pogba scandal.

        • UnkleTaff May 12, 2017 at 10:17 am

What struck me most about this deal is the reported loyalty bonus that Pogba’s in line for if he stays a second year into his contract.

The words “Paul Pogba” and “loyalty” do not good bedfellows make.

          • AccringtonSpurs May 12, 2017 at 10:19 am

the thing i don’t understand about Pogba is he’s not even that good.

            • SpurAndy May 12, 2017 at 10:20 am

              Veron comes to mind.

Pogba is the new Geoff Thomas.

  • Camus May 12, 2017 at 8:33 am

I would not be surprised at all to see a very large bid come in for either of Kane or Alli this summer. Both very marketable, young and with excellent scoring stats. Who wouldn’t be interested?

    • David Dillenberg May 12, 2017 at 8:40 am

Yes but they are not for sale ideally simply limited to those players deemed surplus to requirements already mentioned.

  • Sid Trotter May 12, 2017 at 8:20 am

Kane will stay another few years. And if his form continues as it has, then Levy will sell him to raise funds to stock the cheese hall – Brie is going up in price after all.

    • Camus May 12, 2017 at 8:28 am

Walker is already being sacrificed for the camembert shipment.

  • David Dillenberg May 12, 2017 at 8:19 am

Unless I am mistaken a couple of ex players who saw out their careers at Spurs were Stevie Perryman (record appearances) and Garry Mabbutt (who apparently rejected a move to Manure thrice) respectively
    plus Ledley King.

    • David Dillenberg May 12, 2017 at 8:20 am

      Apologies for duplication!

  • Camus May 12, 2017 at 8:04 am

Kane seems a bit of a one-off but he will go at some point. 2 more seasons I reckon. The lure of playing for one of the elite clubs (and that salary) will prove too much. I suspect Real are already watching his progress.

To answer the last blog, no – I don’t want Barkley. Time-waster in the mold of Aaron Lennon.
