I’m the sort of unhinged monster that finds the banality of the club’s player “interviews” mentally debilitating.
Turfies, tool kits and and social media based fan engagement hashtag drivel don’t really float my boat. Digging in and pushing on is something I could cope with hearing in a maternity ward, but when it comes to filling the expectation void after a loss, I’d probably benefit more from hearing how the lads were actively working on taking corners that beat the first man.
That sort of thing.
I caught half of a Bentaleb Tweet earlier where he posted #SoldiersNeverSurrender.
My gut reaction to this was that real servicemen with limbs missing, ‘living’ on disability benefits reading his Tweet must be feeling genuine empathy with some tattooed herbert
I’m gutted for the players, for my team-mates, for the staff, for the club itself. It’s the worst feeling in the world – losing, and losing in a final on the big stage is even worse.
When you see Chelsea lifting that trophy it makes the fire in your belly burn that you want to be back and you want to be lifting that trophy and that’s what we’ve got to do with the squad we have. I think everyone’s proud of themselves.
We gave it our all. We played the way we wanted to play and it just didn’t go for us.
