Kaboom In The Mix For Tomorrow

By The Boy -

Ahead of tomorrow’s game against Everton, it came as no surprise that the boss has been mindful of the corresponding fixture last season …and the Toffees enhanced goal scoring threat courtesy of Romelu Lukaku.

We’ve spoken about (last year’s) result as the deciding factor for us not making it into the Champions League because everything changed quite dramatically. It serves us as a lesson to be kept aware of and it’s not something we want to see again.

The player did extremely well last season and has continued to do well for Everton. The potential is there. We all recognise he can become an influential striker in the future.”

Which raises the question, what back 4 do we field tomorrow? Everton have traditionally been a side where goals come from all over the pitch. To some extent, that’s still very much the case. They’ve scored 14 times so far this season. Right now, Lukaku has Premier League 5 goals to his name, which puts him in the same bracket as the likes of Giroud.

Danny Rose is listed as being out until the 24th of November. Which leaves a pool (if you minus Naughton and Fryers) of Vlad, Dawson, Jan, Bonzo and Kaboul.

Yes Kaboul. As hinted at by by AVB:

Kaboul was extraordinary on Wednesday. We planned to take him off in the 60th minute. He was giving me signs he had to come off in the 63rd minute, but that was when Nacer Chadli was injured, and he gave the thumbs up to continue.

It was good that he played 120 minutes. I think we’ve finally buried his recurrent injuries. That’s a great credit to the player and our medical department.

There is a possibility he will make the team selection to start at Everton.”

My picks would be:
