Much has been made of the Joe Lewis flying in from the Bahamas business.

To either gently explain to Mauricio Pochettino why the club’s strategy cannot be adjusted, or to ask him for more guidance so the changes can be implemented in the most efficient manner.

Gladys understands that this visit, indeed any visit for that matter is purely standard procedure and has zero bearing on the latest developments.

Levy is the CEO, not the caretaker who locks up when everyone goes home at night.

The required adjustments are well within his gift.

The back pages have invented for their own convenience a cartoon view of the world whereby great men need to see the whites of their opponents eyes and ‘war chests’ are actually wooden in construction and packed with genuine doubloons and assorted jewels.

Thankfully the world isn’t like this Walt Disney representation.

What in fact Pochettino desires is NOT a war chest.

So the spurious misrepresentation by several newspapers trying to conflate the monies raised by selling Rose, Alderweireld and Mousa etc and this made up number of £150million ought be ignored.

This is some hack timing 3 by 50 and hoping for the best.

A dull child could tell you that to sell 3 players and then have enough to buy 3 more is not what Poch is angling for.

That’s what we’ve been doing and it is a very limited formula.

Glad believes that the second wave of Poch’s project is far more nuanced, far more intelligent.

What he is seeking is to have our willingness to negotiate enhanced, so he doesn’t have to suffer muck like Sissoko because he was affordable on one of Levy’s drawn out hire purchase schemes.

Poch doesn’t want second or third choices, his aim is to buy quality and buy once.

Whilst Levy’s business acumen is admirable, making the odd few quid on shuffling about deadbeats such as No’Cluedo, the football is not benefiting.

Those rejoicing our third place finish are missing the point – Poch’s position is much sharper – this was despite the tools he had to work with.

Fans must surely be able to grasp that there many stop on the line between ‘monk’ and ‘drunken lottery winner’.

I won’t hold my breath…

Lewis is unlikely to override Levy, their relationship is unshakable.

Levy won’t do anything daft.

Poch only wishes to do what is required, what is sensible.

Villas-Boas wanted to do the same by the way, but his papers were not in order.

Pochettino’s credentials are now impeccable.

To comment on your previous blog H,£1.1 bn wouldn’t get close to touching the knife crime epidemic that is sweeping London, let alone the £110m as young as 8 are taking knives to school & threatening to cut off dinner ladies heads(Morden) Albanian refugees throwing axes & machetes over school fences to facilitate fights(Croydon). These are witnessed first hand events that are in supposedly less violent areas.Take into context the amount of children in gangs, trying not to be in gangs & tell me how many police it would take to get these knives off our streets ? Pretty much like poch they haven’t got the tools for the job

  • moley May 16, 2018 at 11:05 am

Well whatever happens between levy and potch will define our future .Let us hope levy listens ,don’t hold your breath .

“War chests” are for kids who play too much “Lord of the Rings: Shadow Of Mordor”.
    It’s fascinatingly poised.

You wonder whether Poch will soon be starring in ‘The Boy Who Wanted Too Much’.

But Levy has never before been in this position.
Gammon Face delivered some good returns in the League and CL, but, with the England job fiasco and dodgy dealings, managed to stitch ‘imself right up like a kipper, sa’an…

We’re sailing in new open waters here and, predictably, I suspect it will all come down to who’s steering the yacht, not who owns it, and not the South-American kitchen hand doing all the grafting in the galley below…

In my mental lumber room, I picture the scene thus: Pochettino is inside the board room with Daniel and Joe, and the other ENIC place men. Waiting outside the door and straining to hear are Eriksen, Dele, Harry and Tobes. If it goes Poch’s way, all smiles. If Levy refuses to alter and Poch walks, the players hit their agents’ speed dial numbers and sày “get me out of here” .

I’m more interested in the levy / Poch possession stats.

‘Pitchflaps’ are a thing and one guy is literally licking his lips.

  • Nick May 16, 2018 at 10:27 am

Villas-Boas wasn’t in the same vicinity as poch.A poor coach & even worse man manager

    • gloster1861 May 16, 2018 at 10:30 am

Nobody compares to Dim Sherwood for man management. One could imagine any dressing room disagreement ending up with Timmy tearing off his gillet and saying “you want some buddy? Wanna take this outside?”

    • Harry Hotspur May 16, 2018 at 10:30 am

This for the benefit of Ahole and Spursnut from yesterday’s shenanigans – ‘opinion’.

I completely disagree, but I am not angered by it. Because I am normal.

When you clowns tell me ‘Poch wanted Sissoko’, or ‘Opta is nonsense’ that is misleading guff and it does anger me.

You may as well say the Bible is a historically accurate account of how the world began.

      Dumb dumb.

      • 61SpursNut🌰 May 16, 2018 at 1:54 pm

Don’t be a dick, H. No one has said Opta is nonsense. It is merely limited.

        • Harry Hotspur May 16, 2018 at 1:59 pm

          You’re very aggressive these days.

Oh, sorry. My mistake. You’re one of those guys who in real life is a charm. A man amongst men. Which means you’re allowed to snarl and snipe at me one here all day long.

          I forgot how this works.

          I’m such a dummy!

          • 61SpursNut🌰 May 16, 2018 at 2:19 pm

Lol, the first time I ever call the master of the vicious put-down a moderately unpleasant thing and you call me aggressive.

            • Harry Hotspur May 16, 2018 at 2:29 pm

Maybe focus on the football, and less on getting up my fucking nose.

Make that your thought for the day.

Alternatively go post on RealPrick’s blog.

              I’ve lost interest…

Brilliant response to Ben it on SkyscraperCity

“I suspect that is complete nonsense. One, there is the matter of the NFL in mid-October and, two, we can’t play away games through to late October. Are we also supposed to believe he is an ITK on what the PL will accept?

This is the problem with ITKs. They often start with some genuine information, then build a career on it, becoming ITKs on every aspect of the club. Besides, Ben was the original ITK in a tree.”

  • chrism090861 May 16, 2018 at 10:19 am

Levy is always pictured on TV at all our matches, watching what is happening. he is surely an intelligent man, with a proper ‘Thought Process’, otherwise he would not have reached the level that he has in his work life. So, having said that he must surely have thought ‘If we add a couple/3 players of quality we could actually do some shit here’ !!!!

    • Nick May 16, 2018 at 10:24 am

It’s a body double,Levy is so conceited he has more doppelgängers than Putin. The one in the stand is called Malcolm & is a fishmonger from Margate.

    • DaveA May 16, 2018 at 11:23 am

I think it’s a waxworks of him just sitting there, have you actually seen him move?

  • gloster1861 May 16, 2018 at 10:10 am

This meeting ought to be between consenting adults. No one is a hostage; nor should it be necessary to resort to threats to reach an agreement. Pochettino outlines his vision to reach the next level, and what it will take. Levy then has to decide if he wants to take that step.

It may come down to Levy and Lewis being confronted by THE DECISION which underlies everything. Do they take Spurs forward, or will they leave it to the next generation of owner to have the ambition? In other words, sell up, or support the football.

    • gloster1861 May 16, 2018 at 10:14 am

Of course there is a third party: not to sell because it’s a nice revenue stream, but only put in the minimum funding to try and keep the club ticking over in the European competitions. That would be the cynical ownership model. And many think that’s precisely how Levy works.

  • witTank May 16, 2018 at 10:04 am

Levy knows that the only manager around to bring young players through and place inherited square pegs in round holes is Poch. He has massively over achieved at Spurs and despite Levy’s complete lack of football knowledge after 16 years, surely even He must recognise that.

Poch has made his case public in an honest, respectful and polite way (the choice of words was no doubt assisted by his old interpreter) – basically a sugar coated version of Danny Rose.

He’s Levy’s dream manager and we just wait to see if there is any blood letting as you suggested.

  • Gus May 16, 2018 at 9:50 am

I hope DL can see that Poch is the real deal, that he is a steady hand on the wheel, as you say Harry his results speak for themselves and Poch deserves to buy the groceries

  • Accy May 16, 2018 at 9:49 am

Dov the SC whore has this:

BEN on stadium opening: no one know for sure depends how next few weeks go but told very unlikley test events now august and liley to be in ground end october/mid nov meaning play couple games wembley sadly

will the EPL accept this?: yes

    • Harry Hotspur May 16, 2018 at 9:54 am

      This has degenerated into farce.

    • gloster1861 May 16, 2018 at 10:03 am

No shit Sherlock! The stadium still looks like a building site rather than nearing completion.

      • gus May 16, 2018 at 10:49 am

Maybe Daniel should line up all of the workers at lunch time and have them scatter building site debris thru their pockets onto the ground in the exercise yard

  • Gus May 16, 2018 at 9:49 am

    Papers in order? Wunderbar!!!
