Some fascinating fallout from all the transfer palarvar is emerging. Whether any of it appears on these hallowed pages of course is another matter.

When Danny Rose decided it was a good idea to open his heart to The Sun, he took a full blown sh*t with his clothes on. Career suicide isn’t in it.

Whatever noises Pochettino will make in public, privately he remains apoplectic over the whole business.

Gladys describes Poch as being unerringly ruthless when it comes to his judgement of character with players and this is one of the many things that Levy particularly likes about the man.

Unless something utterly transformational occurs, then Rose will sold within a matter of minutes of the January window opening.

There are a number of post-Rose strategies including Jan Vertonghen to edge Davies out onto the left and the use of a ‘3’ opposed to a ‘4’.

It will be telling to see how Luke Shaw now performs over Manchester United – Glad believes that he was absolutely desperate to get to Spurs when the Rose stuff first broke. He wants to play for Poch.

Swap deals don’t happen, that’s a fact of life. But where there’s a pulse, there’s always a deal to be done.

We can still comment here, lads. Shhhhhh. I think we all know that Barkley might or might not have agreed personal terms and probably didn’t have a medical (although he might be fibbing). Just don’t tell H that I said so, or I’ll be for ze chop too.

Is it safe to come out yet 👀 Waaaay, the reinforcements ‘ave arrived. Sargent Derrière, the firestarter a la furnace Fernando (fucking will we have a Spaniard) and the cool water Davidoff Sanchez. Beautiful work Poch/Levy and recruitment team. Attack, attack attack…Lets set this place alight
🔥🔥🔥Luitenant Shaw and the Boss Barkley next por favor.

Wasn’t it just the season before last when Rose was supposedly ‘the Teacher’s pet’? Poch’s favorite lol.

  • McG September 1, 2017 at 4:21 pm

Rose will be back in ahead of Davies in no time once he’s fit. Bigger pitch, Rose & Aurier will utilise the space better. Looking forward to it…

Hope so. He’s a little loud mouthed traitor who was going nowhere until Poch made him a good wing back. Eaten bread is soon forgotten.

        • Stevo1987 September 1, 2017 at 5:28 pm

Correct. Poch has really looked after Rose. Maybe more than some of the others. It’s a real kick in the goolies for Poch.

Shaw and Trippier, possibly the two least-durable fullbacks in the game. A strong wind puts Trips on the physio table, and Shaw is fit 25% of the time. Sounds like a great plan.

    • Willie! September 1, 2017 at 4:20 pm

Anyone got a pool going for how many red cards Aurier picks up? The boy is very fond of reckless slides, he’s gonna get sent to the showers early, break his or an oppnents leg, or give away a raft of penalities. I hope I’m wrong and Poch can wring that habit out of him, but watching footage of his PSG play was an eye opener. You thought Wanyama was a red card waiting to happen? Go watch some video of Auerier.

      • McG September 1, 2017 at 4:23 pm

I don’t think the French league is any more lenient than ours. 2 reds in 181 matches to date..

When has Tripper had injury issues? He’s been injured through being clattered a couple of times but nothing muscular.

  • Chi Y-word September 1, 2017 at 4:07 pm

I think Rose will be left to stew on what he’s done for a while. Davies is a decent left back, but he’s not the modern wing-back we need. We are blessed with having two centre backs that also regularly play full back for their country, with Tobes on the right and Verts on the left. Davinson coming in makes perfect sense as he can slot in the middle of them , step out with the ball and be covered by the other two. Three at the back does require two wing backs bombing on, or it doesn’t work. Both have to go to stretch the defence. For this reason I think Danny will be back in the team in November, both to make amends for his gaff and to bump up his value if we do desire to get rid.

Still to be convinced by Shaw – not sure he’s got the motor we need.

  • McG September 1, 2017 at 4:05 pm

Well worth a read, bit of an insight on Aurier…

The difference when rose plays is huge! Can’t wait to get him back in there! If aurier is as good as they say we could have some serious pace out wide!

Dissatisfied with no AM coming in as if any of the usual 3 get injured we are relying on sissy and coke head!

      • mattspurs September 1, 2017 at 3:57 pm

Can’t see Rose displacing Davies immediately – Davies has been decent for 9 months and we’ve won a lot of games with him.

We desperately need Lamela to start playing

        • MysteriousStranger September 1, 2017 at 4:59 pm

Davies has made the most key passes (9) of any defender in the Top 5 European Leagues to date this season. So Opta told me the other day.

          • mattspurs September 1, 2017 at 5:28 pm

Maybe that’s because he’s taking our corners?

  • Panama Paul September 1, 2017 at 3:32 pm

There is absolutely no way in Hades that Levy will want anyone knowing that Rose is definitely for sale. It weakens his bargaining position. I don’t doubt that Poch isn’t well pleased with Rose and wants shot of him but I don’t think that they’ll let the cat out of bag. Interesting though that another ex-Saints player who went elsewhere for the gold now wants to re-join Poch.

  • Camus September 1, 2017 at 3:29 pm

Was surprised to see Rose stay to be honest, but he is injured I guess.
Will be intriguing to see what Poch does with him now.
Will he play in lilywhite again?

I don’t wish to see Jan at left wing-back.
He will get rinsed for pace.
Facing Liverpool without a pacy left-back could be unmentionably horrible this season.

    • Freund or Foe September 1, 2017 at 3:29 pm

Liverpool was horrible last season. Twice.

      • Panama Paul September 1, 2017 at 3:38 pm

We need to find a way to nullify their attack because they’re not much chop at defending. If we can put pressure on their defence we are in with a good chance of turning them over.

        • Camus September 1, 2017 at 3:43 pm

Yep. But that’s what we all said last season and we didn’t do it and got rinsed.

        • Freund or Foe September 1, 2017 at 3:43 pm

They`ve got our number. Unfortunately, we only seem to have one number.

          • Panama Paul September 1, 2017 at 3:49 pm

We need to take a leaf out of some of the other teams’ books from last season who were able to take the wind out of their sails. I think we get sucked into trying to play them at their own game, playing at a frantic pace, but we just aren’t quick enough to give them problems.

  • is Gascoigne gonna have a crack? September 1, 2017 at 3:27 pm

    That needs to happen.

  • Tottenham central September 1, 2017 at 3:26 pm

Rose and poch are kool. The plan worked. It will all come out in roses book one day. Levy got played. Pochs challenge now is to save face and keep rose. (Rose does not what to leave until he makes history at the new lane. Just like the rest of them dont) that’s why my football people are telling me. And it was roses idea. Poch knew all about it.

    • Tottenham central September 1, 2017 at 3:51 pm

      Not *why. What

    • mattspurs September 1, 2017 at 3:59 pm

Haha – they played Levy. If only Rose had the brain cells.

      • Tottenham central September 1, 2017 at 4:08 pm

I’m not saying its a fact. Thats just the word round a football people camp fire. Think about it though. Rose has much respect for poch. Why would he do him like that? Unless he consulted poch first. If its true its cleeeeever. Maybe there might not be a sanchez or auirer without the plan. I just like the thought of it. Rose/poch played levy 🙂 🙂

The strawberries taste like strawberries The snozzberries taste like snozzberries.

DId you know that snozzberries is Dahl talk for manhood?

One of the most beloved and oft-quoted moments in the ridiculously beloved and oft-quoted film Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory is the sequence in which the unbalanced candymaker displays his newest invention: lickable wallpaper. As the children and their guardians go to town on the wallpaper, Wonka declares: “Lick an orange. It tastes like an orange. The strawberries taste like strawberries! The snozzberries taste like snozzberries!”

We laugh, because “snozzberries” is obviously a fanciful, fictional word, and nobody knows what they really were. Except that Roald Dahl, the book’s author, knew exactly what snozzberries were: They’re dicks. Snozzberries are dicks. Willy Wonka made those kids lick dick-flavored wallpaper.

It turns out the guy who thought a story about an insane recluse casually murdering a group of children had a pretty fucked up sense of humor.

In 1979, Dahl decided to revisit snozzberries in his adult novel My Uncle Oswald. The equally witty and disgusting story revolves around Oswald Hendryks Cornelius, the titular uncle and “greatest fornicator of all time.” Along with his sexy accomplice Yasmin Howcomely, he devises a complicated get-rich-quick scheme that involves Howcomely seducing Europe’s most famous men and then selling used condoms full of their spent semen to women wishing to birth famous progeny. Please take some time to remind yourself that this book was written by one of the world’s most beloved children’s authors.

The term “snozzberry” comes up when Yasmin Howcomely recounts her experience with George Bernard Shaw:

“How did you manage to roll the old rubbery thing on him?”

“There’s only one way when they get violent,” Yasmin said. “I grabbed hold of his snozzberry and hung onto it like grim death and gave it a twist or two to make him hold still.”

        “Ow.”

        “Very effective.”

        “I’ll bet it is.”

“You can lead them around anywhere you want like that.”

        “I’m sure.”

“It’s like putting a twitch on a horse.”
