Anyone seeking a further explanation as to why Danny Rose dropped the bomb, can have it.

On Monday of this week, Chelsea Football Club formally submitted an offer for Danny Rose, of £62million plus £8million in performance bonuses and usual add-ons.

The contract extensions are worthless. Oh, of course they ring-fence valuations etc, but anyone celebrating them wildly as signifiers of commitment to the cause or whatever is kidding themselves.

Can this be a wake up call, please? Pretty please?

Could this be a tipping point for the Flat Earthers whereby they acknowledge that their parallel reality that Levy has spoon fed them is actually a fictional embarrassment?

The vaguest sniff of opportunity and our players bail on us without a second thought. The culture at Spurs stinks. We won the League Cup in 2008 and even the erstwhile sainted Robbie Keane ‘suddenly’ remembered his dream was to play for Liverpool.

Don’t you get it? Please tell me you’re beginning to get it?

The best defence in the league and just days before the season kicks off, 50% of it has hit the eject button. What compounds this misery is that we are getting this down the line. THFC have been watching the squad unravel and done nothing to cushion the blow.

I implore you to stop making excuses and just for one moment ask yourself why Spurs is such a poorly run football club.

See Kooman says Barkley may not be sold i.e. Will not be sold for giveaway fee soo Levy’s late move fails yet again and our season again set for slow start which cost us in past two seasons. When will he ever learn?

    • Spurs Nut D August 10, 2017 at 9:02 pm

Ha you fool this is typical talk of a manager who recently said he is going to be sold. Everton have no choice but sell him or risk seeing him leave for next to nothing in January. There is also the small matter of paying his wages till then of a player they neither need or want

  • JerseyHotspur August 10, 2017 at 6:48 pm

Best defense since Jan, take the money, £110m for Walker + Rose, add in prize money from last season at circa £160m, plus whatever Clinton cards bought in and that’s a good £280m off a £800m stadium. It feels painful but might help prevent austerity that Arse endured when they switched homes. Of course, only makes slight sense if we then start spending like others in next 18 months…

  • onedavemackay August 10, 2017 at 6:06 pm

And we still managed to have the best defence in the league without Rose since January

  • onedavemackay August 10, 2017 at 6:05 pm

Spurs are not a very wealthy club

If anyone out there wants to pump in a billion or two I’m sure Daniel Levy will be all ears

  • onedavemackay August 10, 2017 at 6:03 pm

A poorly run football club ?

Some might say that a club without Middle East or Russian billions that finish in the top 3 are actually a well run football club.

Other might add that players are not bought off the shelves at Tesco and as Spurs cannot offer top dollar for players or offer top dollar wages the choice is limited.

    You need a reality check

    • Harry Hotspur August 10, 2017 at 6:26 pm

I don’t know who these alleged people are, but I hope they get better soon.

  • Big toe August 10, 2017 at 5:56 pm

Chelsea or Man U don’t what him, it’s the same old story say your interested to destabilise a team you are worried about. Players to thick to realise it, maybe he’s thinking of returning to Leeds? 2 x fairly serious injuries and he’s thinking of his final pay day.

  • Wilboid August 10, 2017 at 5:37 pm

7 months of sick pay and he comes out with that?! What a plum.

  • Brez August 10, 2017 at 5:07 pm

    News flash!
    Kane to Barca 160M
    Ali to Real 135M
    Rose to Man Utd 72.66M
    Aroundtheworld to Man City 45M
    Eriksen to Barca 77.5M
    Wanyama to Chelsea 56.99M

The shareholders must be “doin a rain dance” and the stadium is paid for nearly once The BOGOF stadium naming rights money comes in….happy days, you won’t win nothing with kids

    • Kevin August 10, 2017 at 5:45 pm

With that lot gone, we’ll be relegated and the money dries up. Fans will quit attending (if they can afford the new stadium prices).

  • Chris cp August 10, 2017 at 4:41 pm

    Agree.

  • Bert Simpkins August 10, 2017 at 4:37 pm

He may be a good left back but he’s a poisonous little kunt who has deliberately brought other players into his exit plan. I’d sell him in a heart beat as arseholes like him are disruptive in the dressing room.

At least Walker was dignified and sensible about his language

  • digiyid August 10, 2017 at 4:31 pm

Levy either act like a Big Club Chairman or Sell the club to someone who will act like one..Rose lacks class, professionalism and BRAIN. The Sun did what they aimed at. The media supported by Man Utd Chelsea Man City are trying to destroy Spurs just before the season kicks off The Portuguese Gippos words were the sign of whats expected a while ago.Spurs keep what they want to keep you cant force them to sell etc W*nker. I dont think it will work.A win at Noochasle and DAMN they are doing it again..Poch has a great weapon now “NO ONE LIKES US” what better way to get your players motivated?

  • Skinner August 10, 2017 at 3:16 pm

This has all come a bit early, thought this would happen after WC next summer!
Only way out of this in my opinion is to offer him to PSG or Bayern (cannot sell to the Russian money launderers or any EPL club)
Oorrrr you tell the slag to concentrate on getting fit and if he gets back into the team by Christmas he can get a bumper deal, i’d still fine him though! (Not too much though cos he can’t afford it)
Football is ruined by the way

  • Andreas August 10, 2017 at 2:42 pm

Why on earth didn’t we sign sessengyon from fulham.?? We could have tried harder to make it happen, then rose could have been sold without to much fuss.

  • Andreas August 10, 2017 at 2:38 pm

Rose has a point, but the timing and the way he is speaking means he has been tapped up bigtime.let’s be honest ,did you not think that things were going so well that something had to happen, after all its spurs. We always fail in everything we do, and when enic eventually sell up ,then expect silverware.
If city and cheatski can be made into big clubs then so can we.
The rich clubs were never going to stomach is challenging for anything and as soon as some of our players but great form, they have to unsettle our players. Out of the top six we are by far the weakest minded ,and suseptable to undermining .
We are used to losing our top players. In the space of a few weeks we have lost the two best fullback in the country and have no back up to Davies and Trippier.
Sadly I don’t think Levy will be too bothered if he sells for 60 million.

  • Glyn Hoddel August 10, 2017 at 2:13 pm

Danny Rose is entitled to his opinion and also to want to win things. The manner in which he has chosen to address his concerns is deeply worrying though – who seriously runs to The Sun of all papers to let fans in on their thought processes. I can’t see a way out of this for Rose really, he wants to go and we should just show him the door. No loyalty. What we should never forget is that its we the fans who are the club, not the players. Players kiss the badge and come and go – we the fans remain, we can’t and won’t go anywhere! COYS!!!!

  • Bruce Rioch August 10, 2017 at 2:08 pm

Think of it from Levy’s viewpoint. Unless paying huge wages and giant transfer fees can provide him with more than a reasonable chance of financial enhancement over the long term, then why bother. Continuing to run the organization with a mid table mentality provides him with more certainty over his bank account and feeds his addiction for sound financial management. His current path guarantees the owners huge financial rewards so why rock the boat and chase glory? We all know that we overachieved over recent years and will now revert to within 1 standard deviation of our mid table mean. Poch will be gone within a year and our revolving door of managers will begin again.
We can only join the big boys when Levy eventually sells to Facebook.

  • Andre August 10, 2017 at 1:25 pm

That said, our wage structure is beyond a joke

    • ronwol196061🇨🇦 August 10, 2017 at 1:46 pm

  • Andre August 10, 2017 at 1:24 pm

Poorly run football club that must have fluked consecutive 2nd place league finishes. So is the earth round or flat?

    • Matthew Daligan August 10, 2017 at 3:25 pm

      3rd, 2nd on a round earth

  • Jim,Newry Spur. August 10, 2017 at 12:49 pm

  • Randy Lee August 10, 2017 at 12:46 pm

if i was Poch, id ignore this for now, get the signings we need ASAP raise Ben Davies wages and a few others. we really dont need this now Danny!

    • marsinho August 10, 2017 at 4:08 pm

that’s just it, poch is looked upon as a father figure to our 1st teamers but as with walker he favoured trippier and wouldn’t surprise this being the case with rose, mite we be looking at luke shaw come end of the window closure and rose like walker headed oop norf.

  • Pj August 10, 2017 at 12:44 pm

Sometimes clubs have to take a leap of faith to gain that extra finance via our commercial business! That’s where we fall short!
A couple of high profile signings means your more marketable which means more££££

More revenue for the stadium with regards to a stadium sponsorship!

I usually say flog him but not this time! Bench him and let him eat humble pie to return, he will or his endorsements suffer due to no World Cup place.

We’ve already strengthened city! We can’t strengthen another rival along with the Wembley issue! We’re handing our rivals an automatic CL slot which long term means less revenue just when we need it.

    • Caspurs♿️ August 10, 2017 at 12:47 pm

I wouldn’t sell him at the moment. He knows there is a world cup next year, plus it would be disastrous for the club PR wise.

  • Camus August 10, 2017 at 12:41 pm

There will be a story that Levy is ‘incandescent with rage’ (last used when Chelsea snapped Willian up) but Rose is still riding off into the sunset to pick up his double wages and winners medal. Blah blah blah.

    • ronwol196061 August 10, 2017 at 12:43 pm

I think he will be enraged with this one and Rose is not going.
He cant let Rose go. One because of his quality but more important to protect Kane and Poch.
      This is the red line

      • Camus August 10, 2017 at 12:44 pm

Think H says he’s gone – story to follow.

        It’s a thin red line.

        • ronwol196061 August 10, 2017 at 12:45 pm

Levy would be completely foolish to let him go
It might be my red line too

      • Pj August 10, 2017 at 12:46 pm

        Absolutely correct!!

      • Ronan August 10, 2017 at 12:46 pm

If he let walker go to city, there is no red line. The players have clocked this.

        • ronwol196061 August 10, 2017 at 12:47 pm

Thats not true. Walker was a sensible sale at 54 mil. Rose would never be a sensible sale

          • Ronan August 10, 2017 at 12:53 pm

There was nothing sensible about the walker sale. The repercussions will be poch’s whole house of cards coming down over the next year..

            • ronwol196061🇨🇦 August 10, 2017 at 1:45 pm

No I think 54mil for Walker was ok
The schmuck hasnt bought a replacement of back up though that was the problem
For me as well we shpuld be strengthening the team with the money..thats the problem but the window isnt over

Can’t wait for Monday’s Mirror exclusive where Danny Rose enthuses about the signings of Bale, Di Maria and a bloody amazing right back (DD please help me out on that one) as well as his new contract.

“These are exactly the type of players I was urging our glorious chairman to sign” – “I only used Google because my spelling is so bad especially when it comes to foreign players” – “I googled Manchester and realised that not only is it still quite a long way from my Mum’s house but it also rains a lot” – “I’m going to concentrate on trying to get back from injury before Lamela does”

  • Smiffy August 10, 2017 at 12:29 pm

I’m gutted. It’s a disgraceful interview from a little whinging greedy turd… what about me, it isnt fair wah wah wah you facking cnut. Add £10mil to the price and sell that fuck stain to one of the clubs in the EPL Financial Fair Play’s finest lists…
Levy on the other hand is a fantastic business man.
One of the best around… but not one of the best in the business. The business of Football that is. He’s facking terrible at running a football club. Our football club.
Football is a sport where athletes play to win and fans live in hope that their team wins…. Levy doesnt give a shit about that.
Win, dont win… he dont care. As long as we turn a profit… the bigger profit the better, then he has done a great job in his eyes. Of course if we win more he makes more… and he’s a cranky fcuk if there was a chance of making more by finishing 4th (and thus making him look better) than finishing 5th.
New contracts are nothing more than a guarantee of a larger transfer fee. Thats all. Give the lads £30k more a week… sell them for £30mil more than if they only had 18months left. He creaming himself over Walker…. and he’s joyous beyong belief at the prospect of £70+mil for the latest fcukwit.

Fack it. Cnuts the pair of them.

  • TopOfThePochs August 10, 2017 at 12:29 pm

Rose was what 16 when he very first arrived at Spurs? So much for the Levy line that players coming through will be more loyal and have the club at heart, or words to that effect.

    • is Gascoigne gonna have a crack? August 10, 2017 at 12:31 pm

With what he’s doing to the club you could be Ricky and Ossie’s lovechild and a lifelong fanatic and still want out.

    • Jim,Newry Spur. August 10, 2017 at 12:45 pm

Not to worry, there’s a 16 year waiting to replace him.

  • caveman August 10, 2017 at 12:27 pm

If I was Levy I’d put a kings ransom on every players head. Do business with Chelsea for Rose at £90m or fuck off Abramovich. Likewise Man U, Man C or any other club that want to keep us a selling club. Come on you cunts, do your bidding.

    • Karnage August 10, 2017 at 12:30 pm

We should not sell one of our best players to that lot. I’m confident Levy won’t sell to them.

If Man Utd come calling though that might be a different story.

Give him a pay rise (along with Dier, Alli, Toby and Kane) and sign some bloody players Levy. Running the club into a big fat Iceberg.

    • ronwol196061 August 10, 2017 at 12:31 pm

      Exactly.

    • TopOfThePochs August 10, 2017 at 12:39 pm

The wall has to go up now, Spurs need to stand firm. Walker got his wish as he went about it, generally, the right way and we had Trippier to step into the first team 9even though they clearly had no replacement for Trippers place)
Roses actions are aggressive, the club needs to fight back to show it won’t be pushed around.

  • Dan B August 10, 2017 at 12:24 pm

    We signed Gazzaniga yet?

    • Karnage August 10, 2017 at 12:31 pm

      Wanyama and Dier > Carvalho

Chicarito has about 5% chance of getting more than 20 goals.

Things are bad for us but they’re not West Ham bad

  • Horndog 😎 August 10, 2017 at 12:23 pm

Just getting caught up on this Rose issue and the last few blogs. I know I am behind on all of this but I do have another life. For me, this is more about Team than Rose. If there is an accuracy in the interview then he has had his head turned. One more big contract, etc., etc. If this is a crack in the wall and a lot of the squad is edging toward the same mindset we will know come Sunday. If we come out against Newcastle and pussy foot around it will be a clear reflection of trouble in river city. If we come out and put in a quality, hard nosed performance then it could be that the squad is still together. We will get a clear indication of our immediate footballing future come Sunday. Now if we get an injury or two we will head toward the crapper in a hurry. Why, Daniel, why?

  • Dan B August 10, 2017 at 12:21 pm

Might be time to give top flight football a rest for a bit, always looked forward to the start of the season but I honestly couldn’t care less this year.

The money involved is mental, the perceived lack of ambition from Spurs is embarrassing, more interested in talking up Wembley, The new stadium and the season 16/17 DVD than actually trying to form a squad capable of competing with the best this country and Europe have to offer.

Bostim southern league for me this year, watch a local team that still has a bit of passion and fire.

If Harry Kane starts complaining then Poch needs to stop being a do or die soldier and go and see Levy and put it on the line. He should have done this some time ago. If Harry Kane cant force the issue then Poch is the last line attack

    • Freund or Foe August 10, 2017 at 12:14 pm

We’ve just turned down a 70mil bid from Chelsea, but you reckon Levy will be happy. That makes sense.

      • ronwol196061 August 10, 2017 at 12:20 pm

Turning down 70 mil is part of it. I said yesterday he wont sell Rose as he would value him at 150 mil Thats what I meant by making him happy

No, I don`t get that. Maybe I need more sleep.

I think that Rose wasnt going to be sold, but for the right price Walker was. I mean really everyone has a price but its the value put on by the club and Rose is of great value much more than Walker. I said 150 mil but lets say realistically its 100 mil. We lost Walker and we definately dont want to lose Rose so why not put a high tag on.
Thats what I mean about Levy there ready to tell the other teams to fuck off that can make a man happy. But the wages are a problem to keep the player happy. Still he has the cards

  • mattspurs August 10, 2017 at 11:57 am

It’s amazing that a lad can sign a contract for £60k a week or a touch over £3m a year and then a year later protest that he’s undervalued or underpaid. Football sadly is becoming a joke. I know these guys have a limited career and want to make as much money as they can but the sense of entitlement is ridiculous. Essentially Rose is asking for a £40m (5 years at £150 like his fam) contract to see out his career. FORTY FUCKING MILLION POUNDS!!!

Spurs have turned down £70m for a fullback.

    The world has gone crazy.

Will fans will simply start getting disgusted at the excess?

    • Jim,Newry Spur. August 10, 2017 at 11:59 am

Do you think Harry Kane doesn’t deserve more than 60 grand.

      • mattspurs August 10, 2017 at 12:07 pm

        I don’t think anyone deserves £60k a week for kicking a ball – it’s insane

        Do you think it’s healthy?

      • Spurs Nut D August 10, 2017 at 12:08 pm

        The greed of players.

    • LLL August 10, 2017 at 12:02 pm

Very jaded by it and becoming less interested in football by the year, both for this kind of excess and the antics of Mr. Byrite. Difficult to single out Rose particularly. When he was a kid he probably got into football because he was good at it and he enjoyed it, like anyone else. Then he became pro and like any pro wants to end his career with some level of decorative ornaments on his mantle piece. He doesn’t set the salaries but that’s all relative too – he’s seen Kyle Walker double his pay to go to a club that is roughly 100 times more likely to put a couple of winners medals around his neck, it isn’t much more complicated than that.

      • StuSpur August 10, 2017 at 12:05 pm

Agreed. It’s up to the club to alter that, our club doesn’t even try

      • is Gascoigne gonna have a crack? August 10, 2017 at 12:43 pm

There’s other things afoot here. Footy clubs are hubs of the community. I think people are being deliberately alienated so they lose interest. All round the country clubs are being mismanaged and taken down. There’s other plans for spurs. The area, the NFL….its all very sad.

    • is Gascoigne gonna have a crack? August 10, 2017 at 12:38 pm

  • TopOfThePochs August 10, 2017 at 11:57 am

Roses actions can’t be underestimated – what he’s done is very damaging & embarrasing.

Apart from shaking the tree a few days before kick-off & bringing disharmony to the team & fans what message is this sending out to the players we have supposedly just about got on the hook to sign?

Disgraceful move by Rose, orchestrated no doubt by his agent & Mr Kidd (who also wrote the piece on Chelseas interest beforehand)

  • Urbane Sturgeon August 10, 2017 at 11:54 am

Sorry to re post from the last blog but I thought it worth a glance:

I’ve seen various versions of this list with a few differences, this is a year old. One constant across all the ones I’ve seen however is Rose’s wage at £30,000. Other general wage issues aside, if he is still on that much, he is, in context, paid way too little for his services which have become exemplary. I wonder how many first choice left-backs in the Prem’s top 5 clubs are getting 30,000 a week. Clearly I’ve no idea whether or how his agent might have tried to remedy this, nor do I know what goes on at the club at all, but I can see why he might be pushing for a move away from Spuds, and, although I might if I knew all the facts, I do find it hard to blame him right now.

What happens if we say double his wages do we then double everyones wages. A rise for one as we have seen means everyone else starts looking at their pay. What cost to the club considering we earned in 2016 just over 200 million and our wage bill was just over 100 million. If we increase every players wage where does the money come from to buy players. The size of our ground and yes not winning anything is hurting us but to increase wages at this stage to city, man utd or Chelsea status would be the end of spurs

  • Randy Lee August 10, 2017 at 11:49 am

IMO he wants a big money -so here’s a thought lets fucking give it to him shall we! and why not! forget what he was two three years ago and the improvements poch has made to his career , Today even after being injured he is the best LB in the league and 1st choice for England and last but not least at the moment he is irreplaceable and clearly cares about the club as this is not the first time he has mentioned signings and club ambition.

    • Freund or Foe August 10, 2017 at 11:57 am

No problem. 150k per week? Done. We’d better pay Harry at least that though, and Hugo, Eriksen, Tobes, Verts, Dier, Wanyama, Dele. Trippier must be worth at least 2/3rds of Rose, so let’s give him a rise. Davies had a good end to the season, more for him. Let’s just find out whatever ManC’s are paying their players and match it. Why the fuck has Levy not thought of this?

      • Spurs Nut D August 10, 2017 at 12:12 pm

Check what we have at the end of each year and what wages we pay to increase to any level near other top four would mean the end for Spurs

    • Camus August 10, 2017 at 11:51 am

He works the channel brilliantly. His end-product is not so hot but when he works the channel and just lays the ball off to Eriksen and co. he’s a massive part of the team. If he goes, he won’t be adequately replaced for this season.

    • Harry Hotspur August 10, 2017 at 11:58 am

Precisely. He’s sought after. The bid from CFC 100% happened. There’s more itk coming in and it is about how Rose has engineered leaving. He’s gone.

oh dear….with all due respect im not going to levy bash because danny rose is 27 and wants a boat load of cash. he can f off. Toby…fine…Jan fine. But not danny. He gets injured too much and i dont like the way he has suddenly become decent once poch arrives. Fuck him. Get some fresh blood in and recycle. if football was all about spending money and nothing else it would be very predictable. I am appalled by how spoilt this guy is. I think he knows spurs will have to increase the wage structure once that new stadium is built as levy will have no excuse at all not to. I dont get why you would throw your toys out of the pram now….1 year before it opens when he has been injured since Jan and cant play anyway. What a tit. If poch can make danny rose into a good player he can make someone else into a good player.

    • Sexy Beast August 10, 2017 at 12:04 pm

      Couldn’t agree more!

  • TopOfThePochs August 10, 2017 at 11:47 am

It was clear back when Rose did that 5 live interview that he was eyeing a move – the only question was when?

Now he’s gone rogue theres only one thing Spurs can do imo, do a Modric on the lad. Give us one more season and you’re off.

To allow for both Walker & Rose to g in the same window will cause things to unravel pretty fast. Its just not an option unless some REAL business is done on incomings.

We’re told the new stadium will allow us to compete with the rich clubs. Well thats only a year away so Levy needs to start looking at this wages issue fast.

    • Camus August 10, 2017 at 11:48 am

“We’re told the new stadium will allow us to compete with the rich clubs.”

      Who told us this?
Levy said it would “ensure a sustainable business.”
      That was it.

      • TopOfThePochs August 10, 2017 at 11:53 am

Poch has said that the next stage of the ‘project’ is that once we have the new stadium, and bigger revenue, we will be able to compete better financially.

  • David Dillenberg August 10, 2017 at 11:46 am

Rose. Danny Rose. Whilst I share Rose’s frustrations surely no one player no matter how good he is is bigger than the club. If Rose wants out let him go. Unlike our loyal ambassador Gary Mabbutt who served the club with distinction Rose if the Sun article is correct has crossed the line and behaved with no dignity at all.

  • Noel August 10, 2017 at 11:46 am

Technically 40% playing 5 at the back.. But i get the message. I like old danny as a player and he has improved leaps and bounds, lets not forget though this is a man that dyed his hair red – clearly lacks intelligence hence the need to run around at 110mph… 62 mill – snap there hands off – buy sessegnon – Not interested in supporting players that have been improved by the players and management around him and paid handsomely for it – to start whinging!

  • Matt August 10, 2017 at 11:44 am

I can’t see how that’s Levys fault if we got a 60m bid for Rose. Only mistake if he turned it down. How many of the 12 games we won in our last 13 did Rise play? Not many (any?). Decent player but over rated. Defence record is built on first rate keeper, CBs and holding Defensive midfield. Not a quite quick, injury prone OK crosser. And he had as many careless moments as Walker. Losing Wanyama would cost us 3 times the number of points.

    • Ronan August 10, 2017 at 11:47 am

Guardiola and Conte are twits. Trippier and Davies were the men they needed

  • Dan B August 10, 2017 at 11:41 am

Rose “I definitely want to go back up north”

Chelsea makes tons of sense then. I am 100% sure he will go, if anything I am actually a bit pleased about this. I pray it is the wake up call Levy needs to invest, that not everyone is content with swish facilities and a. new stadium and that these young, ambitious guys actually want accolades and to have been a success.

If we do nothing our 11 next season will be:
    Vorm, KWP, Jan, Carter-Vickers, Davies
    Winks, Onomah
    N’Koudou, Edwards, Lamela
    Janssen

    • Camus August 10, 2017 at 11:44 am

      Wake-up call?
Nothing will change. Targets won’t change.
If Rose goes, Davies is installed as no.1 and we buy a young prospect. You’ll see.

      • Dan B August 10, 2017 at 11:48 am

Sadly I think you’re right, doesn’t give the rest of our team much confidence though does it. I’m sure the line about buying players you don’t have to google isn’t just the thoughts of Rose.

Can you imagine being Harry Kane? As much as he loves the club he is a competitive guy who wants to win things, he has now seen all of our rivals strengthen and put their money where there mouth is and we have stood still….again. I am all for bringing through the youth but you have to mix that with experienced players, particularly ones that are used to winning things, it’s mental as well as physical and some of these kids won’t have developed the mental side of there game.

        • azas August 10, 2017 at 11:51 am

out of curiosity did danny have to google delli alli? Or ousmane dembele last year?

          • Dan B August 10, 2017 at 12:10 pm

He doesn’t let me view his search history anymore.

I get what you are saying, and those types of players (unknowns) are great when you already have adequate cover in certain positions (Alli was not meant to come in and make the impact he did) but the truth is we are a first choice RB down, we need decent cover for our first 11, players who are going to make people fight for their places (rose said that himself, so we need players that year guys have at least heard of.

If Poch wasn’t so well respected some of our players would be “phoning it in” during training already because they know they won’t be dropped. We have no cover.

            • azas August 10, 2017 at 12:30 pm

personally i rate trippier higher than walker so im not too bothered about that one. But yes we are a rb down. I dont get the whole…..’people iv heard of’ argument. What’s danny trying to say? If we sign an up and coming player to challenge danny and danny hasnt heard of him then danny wont try harder and will relax? Thats such a poor attitude to have. He should want to push himself regardless. Why the hell does he need a big player to motivate him? Thats what a child says. I wonder how Ben Davies feels in all this?

              • Dan B August 10, 2017 at 12:38 pm

I don’t think it’s about his position specifically. I think it’s about the club in general attracting and signing big names.

Van der Vaart was the last one (I can think of) to come in with a huge reputation, it boosted the club, the players and the fans hugely. I don’t for one second think he is saying Davies hasn’t run him close, I think his comments are general…..and I’m inclined to agree. We all want them to be professionals but, they are still young men, who will get complacent if they feel they are always going to play. Bring in a VDV type character and it revitalises everyone.

Last year every player was quoted saying “we don’t fear anyone, we can beat anyone in the league and we think we can win it” I don’t think any of them would say those words today.

Come on – we are not a “poorley run football club” we are going against teams with bottomless wallets and wanting to show it. The better our players become, the more clubs will offer silly money to them and make them turn their heads. we cant compete on their level financially, yet we are doing it on the pitch to an extent. we are at a tipping point in football as a whole that either they stop clubs cheating like this, or they just set up a billionaires league and leave the rest to real football.

    Grow a brain, son.

Levy pockets £50million for Bonzo and then sits on it telling everyone that the market’s gone mad and he’s not joining in?

Levy is a wanker and there is nothing you can possibly say to explain this away. We’ve got about £100million to play with and Levy is the ONLY Premier League chairman not to have spent.

There is no such thing as ‘silly money’ anymore – we have total parity, or did Levy give our TV to charity? If you’re going to make excuses, please put some thought into them.

This game is all about money, if Levy isn’t fit to run Spurs he should step aside and let someone who is confident to operate in the real world take over.

Leicester was a once in a generation event like Greece winning the European Championships. Utd were hitting their rock bottom post Fergie, Chelsea were self harming, City the same with a dead man walking manager. Arsenal had their best chance to win the title in years and bottled it and we fell off at the end.

The established big clubs realised they’d been caught with their pants down and have taken measures to address the situation. We have fallen short twice now and have chosen to do nothing about it. There’s the difference.

          • Harry Hotspur August 10, 2017 at 11:37 am

            No they don’t.

What is this, has Vital’s server gone?

            • shed August 10, 2017 at 11:44 am

pretty sure we got Dawson as part of the Reid deal…does work!….Vital is a shadow of it’s former self….too many seals and pop up’s …not to mention being mistaken for you!

              • Harry Hotspur August 10, 2017 at 11:47 am

Try Derailleur Mr Levy. You’ll like it there.

                • shed August 10, 2017 at 11:47 am

                  what’s wrong with here?

    • baz August 10, 2017 at 11:32 am

A cushion for Shaw’s backside on the bench

      • shed August 10, 2017 at 11:34 am

he’ll get back fit and give Davies a run for the money…knows Poch as well

    • Jim,Newry Spur. August 10, 2017 at 11:34 am

Keep Shaw make it £50mill, we have no requirement for players. Nasty buggers.

    • Willy juice August 10, 2017 at 11:35 am

Then we need to buy a decent lb

  • Urbane Sturgeon August 10, 2017 at 11:29 am

You can’t argue with cash, and other clubs spend much more than Spurs, so it will be, as always, just a matter of time. Just as it was during the Redschnapps/Bale/CL era; enjoy the football while it lasts.

  • Spurs est_1882 August 10, 2017 at 11:28 am

Come on – we are not a “poorley run football club” we are going against teams with bottomless wallets and wanting to show it. The better our players become, the more clubs will offer silly money to them and make them turn their heads. we cant compete on their level financially, yet we are doing it on the pitch to an extent. we are at a tipping point in football as a whole that either they stop clubs cheating like this, or they just set up a billionaires league and leave the rest to real football.

    • Ronan August 10, 2017 at 11:32 am

That line no longer works when your coach has built the best side in the country, out of rubble, and you are a whisker away from winning the league for the first time in colour. That’s when you invest the giant new TV deal money, the UCL money x2, the second-place money in giving poch what he needs to get over the line.

    • Jim,Newry Spur. August 10, 2017 at 11:33 am

It’s already a billionaires league, next step is a mega billionaires league, not a Sunday f *cking league

  • James August 10, 2017 at 11:27 am

100% agree.. if I’m not mistaken isn’t our owner quite rich as well?
Arsenal have just bought a relatively unknown left back and paying him 150k a week. Rose is looking at it and thinking I’m earning 65k and I’m one of the best full backs in the league. Time for levy to get his head out of his arse and stop this ridiculous mentality of “our training ground is great so players will want to play here”
Tottenham fans defending this man wake up he’s killing us… sadly the next one to go will be a greater loss than any spoilt footballer and that’s poch. Levy out

    • Jim,Newry Spur. August 10, 2017 at 11:29 am

Agree, Poch goes the wheels come off.

  • Camus August 10, 2017 at 11:27 am

His head has been turned. Why wouldn’t it be? Chelsea are offering him money and medals. He’s 27. We came close the last 2 seasons but no cigar. How long does he wait for the payday and the medals to tell his kids about? We have Wembley this season. He’s seen his mate Walker double his wages and wilI probably win a winner’s medal in 1 of the 4 competitions this season. We’ve shown no intent in the transfer window to push on for a trophy. An offer or two has come in and he’s been told he can’t leave. It’s all entirely understandable.

    • Urbane Sturgeon August 10, 2017 at 11:38 am

Quite right. It’s not just Walker he looks to for guidance, it’s our entire recent history; Judas, Sheringham, Burp a toff, Mods, Bale…………and there will be others to come rest assured. And unless Poch turns out to be a literal miracle worker, I give him one season at the New Lane.

Go on the ‘it’s over when the bald men sell’.

  • Alex August 10, 2017 at 11:27 am

Rose is a huge loss, lets no pretend otherwise. But Rose missed the second half of last season when we won 13 out of 14 at the end of the season. He is replaceable

    • Randy Lee August 10, 2017 at 11:36 am

What happens when Davies gets injured then?

      • Urbane Sturgeon August 10, 2017 at 11:39 am

        What happens when he plays?!!

  • East Stand August 10, 2017 at 11:26 am

Finally the reality of life under ENIC/Levy bites people in the arse and they wake up.

Cheapskates cannot run a Premier League club that wants to win the title. Whenever we have looked like we could kick on and do something Levy says “no thank you” and bleats on about sustainability.

With the new ground too we are slowly turning into Woolwich…

  • JG67 August 10, 2017 at 11:26 am

Sell all the players, pay off the stadium, sell the club, £2billion in the bank, reset to year zero. Job done. Can’t see it any other way, doesn’t make sense any other way. What’s the complete opposite to a flat earther??

  • Jim,Newry Spur. August 10, 2017 at 11:25 am

A player who wants to win something, get him out the door ASAP.

    • East Stand August 10, 2017 at 11:27 am

A player than wants 3x his current salary you mean…

  • StuSpur August 10, 2017 at 11:21 am

The guy is sick to death of it just like the rest of us, plain and simple. The difference is we’re committed for life and he isn’t

    • StuSpur August 10, 2017 at 11:23 am

And as lowlife as running to the Sun may seem I am personally glad he did and not just disappear out the back door. He has spoken out at the regime and echoed what a lot of fans are feeling

      • Randy Lee August 10, 2017 at 11:25 am

exactly! we know this wont change a thing, however racism still exists today should people no longer stand up against it?
he was always going to go!

        • East Stand August 10, 2017 at 11:28 am

What’s racism got todo with this? You’ve lost me.

          • StuSpur August 10, 2017 at 11:32 am

Rose’s anti Semitism towards Levy. The shit about being a tight cunt, shocking really 😉

            • Aussie in Switzerland August 10, 2017 at 11:38 am

But Levy is a tight cunt…..don’t think the imaginary sky daddy he chooses will change that.

      • Jim,Newry Spur. August 10, 2017 at 11:28 am

        Agreed.

  • UnkleTaff August 10, 2017 at 11:20 am

“When I am 34 or 35, I want to look back and see that I have won something. That is the next step for this team, and to do it we have to keep everyone for as long as possible.”
    Danny Rose, January 2017

    https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/danny-rose-is-ignoring-the-transfer-talk-as-he-targets-silverware-at-tottenham-a3454196.html

Maybe the sale of Kyle Walker has made him have a rethink?

    • East Stand August 10, 2017 at 11:21 am

Possibly staff, got the same agent too…

      • East Stand August 10, 2017 at 11:21 am

        Taft.

        • UnkleTaff August 10, 2017 at 11:22 am

          Have another go.

          • Caspurs♿️ August 10, 2017 at 11:23 am

            Tarf?

          • East Stand August 10, 2017 at 11:29 am

Taff. My phone doesn’t like your name, I would like to apologize on its behalf…

    • Harry Hotspur August 10, 2017 at 11:26 am

I think we arrived at this lightening bolt moment yesterday when someone was suggesting that this was all caused by Rose’s agent manipulating matters.

      • UnkleTaff August 10, 2017 at 11:30 am

Forgive me for having a life outside scouring every single posting on this blog.

  • DAVID August 10, 2017 at 11:19 am

    Rose obviously doesn’t like cheese!
Selling Walker to a rival sent out the wrong signals to the rest of the squad.

  • Randy Lee August 10, 2017 at 11:17 am

WOW – Am I the only one who thinks Rose is kind of a hero! (kind off!! I repeat )

He was Always going to go as I said yesterday in a previous thread and will be off next season if not sooner, him and walker are like best buds they have been here through really shit times and unfortunately will never forget it (that’s how bad it was) even the golden dream that is the stadium and cheese room couldn’t hold him back from overcoming his long term injury with a big fuck you to the club.

the reaction has been interesting – he is clearly echoing what we have all been saying, is he out of order for having a quickie with some prostitute in a sleazy hotel? yes!!! but perhaps he has already voiced his frustrations privately and then got the automated response that angers us all.

3 weeks left till deadline day who in the fuck are we going to bring in?? he is a hero the sense of what he had to say needed to be Sun Sensationalised and printed on the back of the papers so levy can have a good view, because you can tweet and comment all you like on blogs, the top people at the club or even players will never read or hear it! this imo needed to be said yet again!

Spend the fucking money and get quality players in!!
I don’t fear players leaving anymore, it’s always going to happen if we do not change our transfer policy. It is inevitable (Spursy as we know it)

good luck to him I say! oh and your move now Levy!!! ( so good i had to say this twice)

  • caveman August 10, 2017 at 11:17 am

What I want to know is, what’s the difference in a bed wetter and a flat earther ?

    • Freund or Foe August 10, 2017 at 11:18 am

I’m a bed wetting flat earther today.

    • East Stand August 10, 2017 at 11:19 am

It’s a subject for a masters degree thesis that one…

    • Jim,Newry Spur. August 10, 2017 at 11:22 am

Flat Earthers are Pro Levy, Bedwetters are anti, or is it the other way round? There could be other camps, I’m in the Dazed, confused and bewildered faction, I want some football.

      • Harry Hotspur August 10, 2017 at 11:25 am

        AHEM!

The Flat Earthers in a stealth move this week attempted to take possession of the term ‘Bed Wetters’.

Flat Earthers is the trading name for Bed Wetters International.

Nice try guys, but we are called sentient human beings. That’s our name.

  • East Stand August 10, 2017 at 11:15 am

Chavs and Citeh see us as a main title rival but how easily their money can derail that is pathetic from ENIC’s perspective.

At the moment it’s two 27 year old pace merchant overrated full backs.

My concern is that a player we really are based around starts taking about missing their family when a bid comes in from a club no nearer to their folks. Rose is the new Ashley Cole, but not as good…

  • JuandeInternational August 10, 2017 at 11:15 am

£62m? He’s gone then. Alderweirald will be next. This is unravelling really fast.

    • East Stand August 10, 2017 at 11:17 am

The lack of any kind of plan here by the clubs owners is fairly worrying.

Was the plan to shut our eyes, cover our hears and sing loudly until the window closes? Well it’s not working…

  • East Stand August 10, 2017 at 11:09 am

Danny’s going to see an awful lot more of his Mum in West London. He has by sympathy in this…

    • Lord Croker August 10, 2017 at 11:15 am

At least he can show her his winners.medals.

      • East Stand August 10, 2017 at 11:18 am

        True.

  • East Stand August 10, 2017 at 11:08 am

    Can’t argue with that.

    Fisty etc
