ITK: A Loan & Some Fines

ITK: A Loan & Some Fines

Good afternoon girls.

Gladys has been cleaning out the lavs at the Hotspur Way this week and has returned with more than a dose of Scrubber’s Elbow.

Marcus Edwards is the next  boy off the Tottingham ‘production line’.

The 18 year old has added 5kg of muscle in the last year and regularly tops the running stats in training which is bound to overexcite all you ‘he’s ever so fast’ types.

THFC are looking to loan him out to polish up the rough edges before hopefully being able to introduce him into the starting XI.

The lad is not only Development player with ‘bite’.

Apparently Onomah & Edwards have been murdering our first team’s defenders to a point whereby they are now fined £500 quid every time they kick one of them

is Gascoigne gonna have a crack?

These twats abroad bang on about the winter break…all they do is play copious amounts of friendlys anyway, they may as well not bother with a break. Knob ‘eads.

Perfectly put. We’re too busy trying to sell shirts to people who don’t even speak English.

  • Chrism January 11, 2017 at 5:35 pm

There is unfortunately only one way to find out if they are good enough for the first team: Give them a game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Medal for stating the obvious please!!)

    • Horndog 😎 January 11, 2017 at 5:42 pm

Medals are not given on this blog.

90 mins in a PL game? Until Onomah or Edwards are better than Alli, Son. Sissoko, Erikssen and Lamela they won’t start. Onomah hasn’t even put in a decent stint of the bench this season – he needs a great 15 minutes to maybe get 30 mins. He fluffed it massively against Liverpool in the League Cup. Edwards needs to train hard enough to get himself on the bench.
Winks is proving his dependability – he’ll get more minutes.
CCV got valuable minutes playing next to Toby at the weekend but still sits as 5th choice centre back.

    • Hartley January 11, 2017 at 6:08 pm

Or we could loan them to another PL club and avoid the risk.

Sad if Carroll goes. Being Spurs no doubt he will be a treasure elsewhere. Playing him requires a degree of trust that creativity is important. I hope the powers that be have really thought this through.

    • AccringtonSpurs January 11, 2017 at 5:11 pm

He will probably shine at Swansea – like most ex-spurs moving on to new pastures.

Chadli, Siggurdsson, Capoue, Townsend (at Newcastle), Dawson etc.

Although, that said, for every one of them there’s a

Pritchard, Stambouli, Adebayor (at Palace), Mason, Livermore, Thudd etc.

    • AccringtonSpurs January 11, 2017 at 4:34 pm

And consider too what Swansea would be getting in return: a player who is the natural successor to Xavi were he to play for Barcelona, and one who the Catalan giants should’ve snapped up as a replacement for Ivan Rakitic. Tom Carroll is an international treasure, and Swansea is getting the deal of a lifetime. Trust me.

This is not a done deal, of course, but Wee Tommy’s departure is looking more and more likely. When the time comes, I shall rend my garments and compose his farewell post through a veil of my own tears.

Loans for these guys is the way to do it. I wonder why we didn’t take the same approach with Ryan Fredericks.

    • mattspurs January 11, 2017 at 6:00 pm

We seem to have a wealth of right backs for some reason – not sure the timeline was right for Fredericks, Walker, Trippier and even Dier all ahead of him – it’s easy to forget that Walker is still only 26 and probably has at least another 3 years of decent football left in him.

It’s easy to play Dele and Kane every game but it might be wise to try out NKoudoo and Eriksen in pushing the supply chain even taking a chance again on Janssen up top. We need more variety in our game

      Are you sure?
Marcus Edwards has been injured since October last year and entered hospital recently for a tonsillectomy. So quite how he’s been murdering our first team’s defenders in training while he has one good leg and is sitting in a hospital bed is confusing. It might explain the extra 5kg in weight though: eating all that ice cream after his operation.
On the other hand another explanation is that it is Harry Winks who has bulked up recently through extra gym work:

Edwards is not well on his way?

  • Real Fan? January 11, 2017 at 3:20 pm

Our Academy is rubbish. Winks, Onomah, Edwards…none of these kids has any chance of making it. Everyone knows that.

    • Harry Hotspur January 11, 2017 at 3:22 pm

      That’s my view too. Uncanny.

I base my opinion on the fact that only Kane has ever become a successful first team regular.

      • Pocha Smurf January 11, 2017 at 3:23 pm

Winks is well on his way

      • mattspurs January 11, 2017 at 5:24 pm

First team regular at Spurs. But given Spurs are now top four (dare I say title?) contenders the calibre of player who’s going to be a first team regular is very high. Winks looks like he’s on the right path.

But in terms of PL regulars the academy has now produced a fair few – Daniels is doing very well at Bournemouth (one might even argue that he’s as good as Davies) as is Smith, neither of whom ever really got a chance at Spurs. Livermore is one of the better players at Hull. Townsend had his chances and is now at Palace. Marney is at Burnley. Mason was bought for £12m but isn’t getting started at the moment. That’s not bad to have 6 graduates good enough to be playing PL football every week. It’s certainly an improvement on years gone by when our academy rejects would be lucky to even be playing professionally two years later.

    • Ronwol196061 January 11, 2017 at 3:27 pm

Edwards has talent, that’s a start. Winks is good but needs to develop more of his game, he could be great but needs to show that he can create.
Not sure about Onomah.. He looked not bad coming off the right last season but really didnt do very much.
I have faith in NKoudoo not academy but thats just academic..he has talent

    • DC Hotspur January 11, 2017 at 11:17 pm

Cameron Carter Vickers is an academy product and looks promising. Just turned 19 I think.

  • Horndog 😎 January 11, 2017 at 3:19 pm

Have not seen much of Edwards, but if Gladys is crowing about him then we await with baited breath.

  • Ronwol196061 January 11, 2017 at 3:19 pm

Edward’s is good but really we have to see the extent that NKoudoo can reach. From what I see he has an eye for this game and good talent

  • Ronwol196061 January 11, 2017 at 3:17 pm

Not a big fan of Omaha yet, Idaho how good he is

    • Pocha Smurf January 11, 2017 at 3:20 pm

True, Onomah hasn’t shown any signs to get me excited. He seems lazy.

      • Harry Hotspur January 11, 2017 at 3:22 pm

He looks a bit dopey, sometimes bashful and occasionally sleepy.

        • Pocha Smurf January 11, 2017 at 3:26 pm

He must be doing great things in training to make the bench so often. This corroborates Glad’s words above
