Is That You, Andros?

By The Boy -

Gregg Stobart at Goal.com is alleging that he has a leak from within the Spurs first XI playing staff.

The complaint from the insider essentially boils down to the manager operating in an insular and inclusive manner with players and his coaching staff.

I think this leak could well be Andros Townsend.

The only players he really talks to and shows interest in are Hugo [Lloris], Danny Rose and Harry Kane. The lack of personal feedback is frustrating. As a player you want to be told where to improve. Do I need to work on my weaker foot? Is it my tactical positioning? Do I need to get fitter?

You don’t want to be told that everything is fine when you’re not getting the playing time you want.”

Whoever it is, would have us believe that Poch is some unapproachable monster, causing frustration to at least one honest, decent type, trying to forge out a career.

Pochettino needs a squad that features more players as intelligent as Rose, Hugo and Harry – who are actually capable of taking instruction.

Or as I referred to it when I was in my twenties, ‘doing what you are told’.

Interesting that Stobart chooses to refer to his leak as a first team regular, when in the second thing to come out of the guy’s mouth is that he’s annoyed that he’s annoyed at not getting the playing time – that he thinks he’s deserved.

I take the view that whoever the leak is, this young man needs to do the honourable thing, hand in a transfer request, and take a hike.

Stop whining about unfair your life is, and acknowledge that nobody owes you a living.

If you aren’t getting picked as frequently as you might hope to, for footballing reasons, then bleating to a journalist isn’t the answer. Although what this might demonstrate is that you’re not actually worth persevering with, and the club’s coaches are probably making good decisions.

Rumour has it, Mickey Mouse wears an Andros Townsend watch.
