I’d Sell 10 Of Them Tomorrow

By The Boy -

Looking at player contracts that are up more or less now, and next year, an interesting pattern emerges. Out of 11 of first team squad players, there are 10 that I’d sell tomorrow.

Kaboul and Sandro have serious fitness issues.

Aside from being endlessly unavailable for selection, Kaboul doesn’t resemble the player he was beginning to look like he might become.  In his last few appearances, Younes had displayed all the positional awareness of an abandoned car.

Sandro may be a public relations dream ticket, a guitar strummin’, kung fu kickin’ “beast” of a man, but he’s another one who’s contributions on the pitch have dwindled.

Rose’s problem that he appears to be educational subnormal.

Benny is a Nazi sympathiser.

Contract up 2015

Younes Kaboul, Benoit Assou-Ekoto, Danny Rose
Iago Falque, Bongani Khumalo, Jordan Archer, Alex Pritchard

Contract up 2016

Aaron Lennon, Hugo Lloris, Emmanuel Adebayor, Sandro, Gylfi Sigurdsson, Jan Vertonghen, Michael Dawson, Tom Carroll, Kyle Naughton, Ryan Fredericks

Azza Blud has been trading on time expired emotional over-investment, for at least 3 seasons. He’s about as terrifying a sight marauding up the wing these days as John Inman waving a daisy chain.

Adebayor proved under Sherwood that he is totally untrustworthy. Great when it suited him to score points against AVB, then he reverted to typed and was anonymous. He’s expensive and unreliable.

Gylfi failed to get substantial game time under either André or Timotei. Seems like a decent chap, but not player who is going to advance us in a hurry.

Jan. Super Jan. Jan the Man. Another one who we all willed to be good, but didn’t live up to the ambitions we had for him. He started off well, and has unswervingly deteriorated into a sulky/confuse teenager.

Dawson is another decent chap, but the game has moved on.

Naughton isn’t actually good enough to play in the Premier League.
