Apologies for the brutish nature of the headline but for the love of god this has to stop before it becomes ‘a thing.’

There’s a video clip (I won’t be sharing it on here thanks awfully. but here’s a link ) of what very much looks like a Spurs fan urinating into a plastic pint pot and then proceeding to hurl it towards West Ham fans.

A number of immediate and/or considered thoughts.

Firstly I’ve never had an issue with football hooliganism. I take view that people wanting to duff each other up will naturally find each other in this life. If that were not the case then boxing as a sport wouldn’t exist. Pub car parks would be just for parking cars in.

However the days of hooliganism days are long, long gone; CCTV – RIP.  So anyone seeking to act like a hooligan in 2017 is a sad lonely embarrassment.

Secondly, whilst I’m not an academically accredited physicisit, I went to enough Monsters Of Rock festivals  as a kid to realise that a Marlboro Mac was the first thing you needed to buy once you were in through the gate. The jet stream out of glass or bottle without a lid is unforgiving.

Nobody likes a grass, but if you see anyone partaking in this sort of thing – shop them.

Actually I do avoid most of those things. I have to go to tesco cos I’m a carer but others than that I don’t buy brand cloths I don’t eat fast food or them you mentioned and I don’t drive or have sky or BT. Its impossible to not be a bit of a hypocrite in our so called society but I do my bestist to stay aware.

While I do believe in a free society,I also believe in some protection and some help for people that need it.
The best thing that people can get is some self esteem and use the energy they have to make things better for themselves and those around them. Its doable. Cynicism is a killer. Hope is a force. Its easy for me to say but also I wasnt brought up with a silver spoon,I was brought up in the East End. A so was Joe Lewis. Maybe we fought our way out in different ways (I dont know his life) but I do believe it things being doable. You can. Learning new skills helps. And dont be deterred just keep doing the right thing.

    Freund or Foe
If you ever tried to get a half time beer at WHL, you’d understand why they earn a pittance.
So I assume from your stance that you won’t be watching any PL matches anymore, except Chelsea v Everton, seeing as they were the only two clubs not called out? And you won’t be shopping at Tesco, Asda or Sainsburys anymore? And you won’t be buying clothes from any high street retailer? And if you are feeling thirsty or peckish, you won’t be visiting Mcadonalds, Burger King, Costa, Starbucks, Pizza Hut or KFC? And you won’t be getting any Xmas presents from Argos this year? And now it’s cold, you won’t be using any gas or oil, let alone put petrol in your car?

Im with you. The workers are always the victims. Thats often what they think. People that are commited and work hard with get their results either where they are working or at a new place or even their own place.
I have always tried to promote good workers even if I worked at companies. One company I worked for years ago I told the owner that this chap in shipping from Guyana was a real hard worker and commited. He was always friendly to clients and nothing was too much bother for him to help them. I suggestef that he use him is sales. Well he became to the top salesperson at the company and years later when out on his own and did fantastic.
The onus is often on the owners for not providing. Its a tough world out there and someone like Levy is facing fierce competition with oil money people. I dont condone everything he does but its easy to be cynical and much more difficult to do his job. Its not a fantasy league.

Without Kane the players can see who they really are. They may come through, who knows. This is Dele Alis chance to show what he really can do. He couldnt turn the game against West Ham the other night so here is another chance to be world class. Its no good being world class in your own head nobody will believe that.
Eriksen is another world class player that isnt yet.Another chance to take a game on.

These two players should produce. We know that the Sissokos etc are mediocre and people here like to hammer him and them at times but its our best players who have to take responsibility when the team needs it Old Trafford or not. They are or they aint. They are great player or they aint. Its not to do with a highlight reel here and there. This is their chance

    • Horndog 🇺🇸 October 27, 2017 at 11:52 am

Not only is it their chance, but for the team they have no choice but to step up.

      • ronwol196061 October 27, 2017 at 11:58 am

Yes it fine them thinking they are with the worlds best but here is a chance to really show it.
Our tope players need to show bravery and commitment in this fight against United. They have to show the way. Then we have a chance.
I think our defence is good enough but without a reasonable amount of sustained attacks they will be under pressure. Our midfield will have their work cut out so Dele and Eriksen will need to control the ball and attack (along with Son etc)

        • caveman October 27, 2017 at 12:02 pm

          • ronwol196061 October 27, 2017 at 12:04 pm

Its about find space and using your noodle. For Erksen needs to pick up in his game when its not easy and not take the path of the least resistant and for Dele he needs to see the game more that a 5 minute highlight reel. This is the time they can show how good they are or not

You could be on 26k a tear and not be on a living wage.
I have colleagues who visit food banks.

Big companies pay the minimum wage.

Most of the ‘basic’ staff are going to be people starting out in their first jobs or supplementing their studies.
My first jobs were on the equivalent wage of today’s fuck all.

Doesn’t make it right but that’s how the world and business infrastructure works.

To dig out FoFty for stating what the whole world is all about isn’t correct.

Most people don’t have a living wage.
Without working stupidly long extra hours, I’m not on a living wage.

Yes my needs are different to that of your average 16-20 year old as my expenses in life are substantially more due to things that have happened in my life, but if I were to have to rely on my basic wage alone, I’d not survive or put food on the table.

In fact as well as having to work how I do in my ‘proper’ job, I have to drive coaches etc to supplement my wages.

      • Freund or Foe October 27, 2017 at 11:29 am

If Spurs aren’t a big company then I don’t know what is. A football club I suppose is no different to the rest of em now. It should be a hub of the community and not just another corporate tentacle. Thats what it is now though.

I had taken a little hiatus from posting since the last five minutes of the Cup game. Before the game I was not too worried if we fielded a fringe player team but after Poch fielded quite a strong team and we went 2 0 up and putting on a good display, I was right into it. I feel numb about their come back and our defence. Absolutely demoralising and brought back the reality that yester year has not completely gone out of our game.
And for the fool that pissed and threw, you have the brain of a cumquat and no doubt have shown your lack of class. I really hope you get caught.

Pocho dear Pocho. Dreaming of the league and champs league. Nothing wrong there, but damnit, no harm in grabbing the low hanging fruit on the way up, engender the winning feeling, culture a winning habit, develop a success ethos, etc, etc, etc. Start by proving we can handle the smaller things first.

    • richspurs October 26, 2017 at 8:04 pm

  • Mad Carew October 26, 2017 at 7:33 pm

    Spurs are the real deal.
Man City, Chelsea and Man Utd have had success through throwing copious amounts of money at the transfer windows, money seems to be no object in buying the next high profile player from home or abroad, few hit the ground running, most take time to acclimatise, learn a new language, fit into a team and system, understand the rigors and tactics of the PL.
Spurs have under Pochettino have weeded out the malingerers, those who are not at one with the project, those who would seek to destabilise the ship (Rose will be gone by seasons end and likely well before) loyalty means everything to Pochettino and 100% effort, that was his trademark as a player and he instills it in his players.
I can’t accept Spurs were so good in the first half against West Ham and so utterly pathetic in the second, the only credible answer is that we threw the game as Pochettino had decided he wanted no further interest in the Caribou Cup, we have bigger fish to fry, PL and CL are the only viable goals to have other distractions would be tantamount to football suicide. We are well on course to achieve Pochettino’s target and to do it a year early in the new Stadium would be superb. Have faith, our time is coming !

    • JackDLad October 26, 2017 at 7:36 pm

      Threw the game….bold statement!

    • JackDLad October 26, 2017 at 7:37 pm

We switched off because we thought it was won.

      • ronwol196061🇨🇦 October 26, 2017 at 7:51 pm

I agree with that. Coasting. Taking things fir granted.
We always need to earn the win

        • Mad Carew October 26, 2017 at 7:56 pm

No coasting doesn’t fit, the decision at HT was to lose the match, i have no doubt about that, the way we played on resuming was just so different to the first half.

          • ronwol196061🇨🇦 October 26, 2017 at 8:00 pm

Poch must be as good as DeNiro FFS

            • Mad Carew October 26, 2017 at 8:04 pm

Poch is true to his word, he has always said the Cups are a distraction, his goals are set much higher, the media try to force answers to loaded questions but his values have not changed, i like that in a manager, especially in our Manager.

              • ronwol196061🇨🇦 October 26, 2017 at 8:42 pm

Did he cringe when the lads scored 2?

          • JackDLad October 26, 2017 at 8:02 pm

If that helps you cope with the loss then thats how you cope with the loss, but was it not you who said “loyalty means everything to Pochettino and 100% effort” , are you not conterdicting yourself in what you are saying? Go out their lads and give me 100% and then at half time throw the game.

            • ronwol196061🇨🇦 October 26, 2017 at 8:03 pm

What consituted throwing could have been Poch saying at HT…Just coast guys…weve got it in tbe bag

            • JackDLad October 26, 2017 at 8:04 pm

              *contradicting

              • Mad Carew October 26, 2017 at 8:08 pm

Get with the programme, if it doesn’t include the Caribou Cup then so be it, Poch is managing resources and doing a fine job of it. Reality dictates we are a small elite squad and unable to challenge on 4 fronts, Spurs have been caught out often in the past, listen and learn.

                • JackDLad October 26, 2017 at 8:12 pm

Just reading your comments and replying. You wrote that we threw the game, I merely said that it was a bold statement. You can tell yourself until the cows come home what you want to accept the fact that we lost, but I can assure you that we did not “throw” the game. We lost focus and switched off.

                  • Mad Carew October 26, 2017 at 8:16 pm

If you actually watched the game and came to that conclusion so be it even though it’s wrong, i see it differently as would anyone with two brain cells.

If the match was thrown it wouldn’t be cos Poch don’t value the trophy, it would be the same as any of the other fixed matches. It was certainly an odd performance so its possible.

Sadly hooliganism still exists albeit in a different format in how they go about it from the Neanderthal ways of yester year.

Just revisit Spurs last two visits to the Boleyn which was absolute carnage with bricks and scaffold clips raining down on us caught in the middle of both clubs ‘risk’ groups.

I have been to too many festivals where the “was that piss or beer” debate was under way. There is no way you can throw a pint pot with liquid in, and accurately hit a target without hitting others. That said, even if you could be 100% accurate, this is disgusting and the person in question should be forced to have a cork in it and made to only be able to pee after getting written consent from a sane person!
