Giovani Lo Celso was in action for 71-minutes last night as Argentina played Paraguay in a 1-1 draw as part of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers in Buenos Aires. Our boy looked to be moving well and José Mourinho ought to be pleased with the 24-year-old’s progress.

The assist came via a corner which sat up perfectly for Nicolas Gonzalez, whose finish was impeccable.

The dribbles twice Lo Celso cut and moved the ball away from the opposition to create space for himself and get away cracking passes.

The shot assists may seem tenuous to some, but the show how important a player Lo Celso is when it comes to creating chances for his ream mates.
All round, Giovani had a good game. A 94% passing accuracy, 63% of duels won and 11 recoveries of the ball, 6 of which were in the Paraguay half.
More, please.
he certainly was 😉
Energetic, industrious player. Plays with a slight scowl, ready to take someone on, unafraid to make a mistake in trying to make positive plays happen.
Jose struggled with Gio at first due to Gio’s quiet nature. However, it is lookjng more and more like Gio is quietly a fierce ‘Jose’ player.
He was LCMF, LW
Was he playing out wide?
He could yet be an unexpected superstar player for us.
If either Ndombele of Lo Celso (or praise be both) could develop to the Modric level of skill and reliability we’d be all set.
