Looking about online at the ‘fan reaction’ to Danny Rose opening his heart to The Sun it’s not a complete surprise that some of you poor darlings still don’t believe this has happened and are desperately looking to for a way to play down what is yet another Hiroshima moment.

It’s no coincidence that Rose dropped his bomb a few days before the season starts. Paul Mitchell did the same thing and this is for one reason alone, to make it perfectly clear, despite whatever happens next, that this wasn’t coincidental.

Any damage limitation was not something they encouraged. Both men want you to know they were sincere and they wanted out.

Why did Rose go to the press? Well in simple terms, he is gutted, absolutely distraught that his colleague, his close pal, a player that uses the same agent as him for crissakes, got out and he didn’t.

Yesterday we had itk that he was told back in May that he couldn’t leave. Rose is the man left behind.

Fredo, you’re nothing to me now. You’re not a brother, you’re not a friend. When you see our mother, I wanna know a day in advance so I won’t be there.

Clearly he’s tried all the conventional escape routes and he’s now reduced to this ill-advised cry for help which reads more like suicide note than anything else, but that’s by the by.

The list of grievances aired here is simply a continuation of what was obviously brewing in that 5 Live interview that many of you attempted to (and failed) to play down.

There is little value in embroiling ourselves in ‘interpreting’ the interview. He’s no longer a Spurs player in anything but name. If you want to construct some fairytale, be my guest.

What is worth analysis, is what Levy & Co. do next. Rose’s departure isn’t complicated and need not be a protracted business. He has a ‘For Sale’ sign around his neck and the deal will be done sooner rather than later.

Spurs will never achieve anything of note under Levy.

  • Aside from cerebrospinal fluid, what's on your mind?

  • Bob August 11, 2017 at 9:19 am

Cossroads for Spurs, as we knew it would have to be soon. The Levy plan has been slow and plodding, but overall very sucessful from an owners point of view. Now we are regular top 4 though, it’s much more difficult to maintain. He would have preferred to get to the new stadium before addressing this, but looks like he now has a choice – up the wages or drop back to mid table. Provided the stadium funding is really all locked in, don’t be surprised if he opts for the latter. As for Rose, I am aware for certain that he was a fringe player known to be lazy before Poch got hold of him. The reserves for him

  • Geoff Evans August 11, 2017 at 5:58 am

I can see a lot of unrest in the team and the supporters if there is no money spent in this window. We need cover for Kane and at C B. We don’t need Barkley at any price.

  • Ed August 11, 2017 at 3:29 am

Notice how he paired his demand for a move North/bigger wage packet with a call for more signings….now of course if he wants to leave why should he care whether there are signings at Spurs? Except that was a bone thrown at the fans, knowing how pissed off they are at Levy. That suggests ‘uncle the agent’ put him up to it, a sly little ploy to defuse fans’ anger at this display of selfish disloyalty. Get him the fuck out to Tranmere Rovers.

  • ed August 10, 2017 at 10:51 pm

who is his agent? who are these agents? why are they allowed to skulk in the shadows and given anonymity while they cause mayhem designed mostly to line their own pockets? let’s start exposing them to some healthy sunlight……let’s see how much they are earning out of the chaos they cause…..a dose of investigative reporting is called for…..

    • Harry Hotspur August 10, 2017 at 11:16 pm

His agent is – unbelievably – his uncle

      • Ed August 11, 2017 at 2:52 am

And walker’s? Why hasn’t this been part of the story. Why does his uncle ghet anonymity when he probably put him up to it? This is a discipline issue for Poch and Levy. I would loan him to Tranmere Rovers. Let him keep his £65k p w (£ 3.3 million p.a. FFS!) but otherwise fuck him. Give him a dose of reality. He is where he is because of Poch. Allow him to get away with this and you encourage everyone else to follow suit. Time to draw a line in the sand. Unfortunately this will probably not happen because Levy will see a chance to get £50m for him (which along with Walker’s fee reduces the cost of the new stadium to £700m). But it is an issue of principle and if Levy doesn’t punish him it will only encourage others to do the same. This game is going to fuck. Neymar was one sign, Rose another.

I hear you mate, but for good or bad slavery was abolished some considerable time ago

          • gloster1861 August 11, 2017 at 8:25 am

Slavery is still rife. Even in the UK.

I see Fleet Street’s finest are circling over Spurs today, hoping to rip us apart. Mail, Mirror and the currant Bin all running stories about unrest in the dressing room.

            • gloster1861 August 11, 2017 at 8:26 am

*Bun, although bin works as well for the Sun.

          • Ed August 11, 2017 at 9:30 am

65k p. W. Is hardly slavery…..allowing him to get what he wants sends an unmistakable message

            • Harry Hotspur August 11, 2017 at 9:57 am

So you propose putting him in irons, flaying him, or branding him as a runaway?

Mate, he’s a wanker and we have no actual control over him.

  • East Stand August 10, 2017 at 10:30 pm

Just seen a column in the Mirror which basically puts Rose comments into perspective.

Rose according to him not paid what he’s worth and undervalued but happy to sign a 65k pw contract 12 months ago. Of that 12 months he spent 4 of those with his feet up nursing an injury.

During the four months that Rose did not play Spurs were statistically better albeit marginally.

Contextually Rose has no basis on which to make these comments after being happy to sign on and also singing the club’s praises at the time.

Ok so we sold Walker but he must have either very little self awareness or be quite thick to seriously sit down and share this drivel with the world.

Rosey old son, you were shit before Poch re programmed your brain, we did better without you so please could you explain again what you are supposedly meant to be worth that is so vastly different to not even 12 months ago?

    Fat arsed gob shite…

  • Derek Ire August 10, 2017 at 8:59 pm

He’s got 5 years left on his contract, that he was happy to sign. Fuck him. Send him on loan to Scunthorpe. He only costs 30k/week!

    • East Stand August 10, 2017 at 10:33 pm

      The guy is a pillock…

      • baz August 10, 2017 at 11:31 pm

        Everything Rose said was true

  • DJB August 10, 2017 at 5:41 pm

In any walk of life if you’re not being paid the market rate you leave and join a company that does when the opportunity arises. As for loyalty, he owes Spurs no favours. If he’d kept quite and accepted his current wage, Spurs certainly wouldn’t be showing him any loyalty when he’d passed his prime

    • Ed August 11, 2017 at 2:58 am

£3.35 million a year for kicking a leather bag in the air sounds a lot like loyalty to me…….i remember visiting the Spurs players in their bar after a match back in the 1980’s and only Chris Hughton could put together a coherent sentence. Bunch of overpaid, otherwise untalented thickos!

  • Simon Gibbs August 10, 2017 at 1:13 pm

Players come and go. Rose & Walker cost us next to nothing and have given us years of service, the last few of which have been to a very high standard. Their games rely almost totally on pace and once that has gone, they have very little to offer. Their next teams may get 1 or 2 decent seasons out of them, so £100M for the pair is great business.

I’m as worried about everyone else as to what extent Levy will back the Manager this month, but I’m going to reserve judgement for now.

  • legoverlass August 10, 2017 at 12:20 pm

The wheels are coming off the Levy gravy wagon. Last season we were basically crap until we started to play 3 at the back with Rose and Walker as attacking wingbacks. Suddenly we clicked and started to play with width and pace. Other teams in the EPL looked at our style of play and decided that wingbacks were the way forward but we had two of the best around who had years of EPL experience. So in typical Levy fashion, we decide this summer to dismantle that advantage and sell Walker to one of our major competitors and now probably Rose will follow. Who have we in place as cover. Davies and KWP with TRippier now injured. You really couldn’t make this crap up. ENIC are owners of an EPL football club. They have invested nothing of note over their 16 year tenure. They have won nothing of note over that period. They have sold off our best players continuously. The EPL is now awash with more money than ever and more and more clubs who are still football clubs are investing to win. Levy and ENIC however do not wish to own and run an EPL football club and meet the requirements of that responsibility so they attempt to justify their non investment by hiding behind the Academy philosophy and claiming that they are right and everyone else is wrong and that the current status quo in the EPL is unstainable. The fact is that the EPL will continue to throw money at the top clubs and they will continue to throw money at winning stuff. ENIC want only to develop property and real estate. Levy has been hoping that he can hide in the shadows spitting out pictures of a new stadium and that Pooch will somehow slip us into the top four each season so the money comes in without the investment. The problem is that players and managers careers are built on success and not real estate development. The current crop see what is happening and are now looking to jump ship
and I suspect that is now starting to apply to Pooch. Rose is saying what we all know is happening behind the scenes and we are looking at a team that do not care about shiny new stadiums but about what they can earn in their short career and what they can win. The owners and the football club are at two opposing points of view and that is destroying this club from within.

    • Ronan August 10, 2017 at 12:56 pm

You’re spot on. The Walker sale to city was crazy and will be seen as the catalyst for the wheels coming off.

      • Simon Gibbs August 10, 2017 at 2:43 pm

I’m not sure why it should be as we had a strong end to the season with neither of them in the team?

        • East Stand August 10, 2017 at 10:55 pm

Good point Gibbs, both Rose and Walker are good players but not irreplaceable and if both go for almost a combined 120m and that money is spent well I can only see it as a positive…

          • gloster1861 August 11, 2017 at 8:31 am

And the crucial word here is ‘if’ …

            • gloster1861 August 11, 2017 at 8:32 am

If it is spent, and if it is spent well.

    • DJB August 10, 2017 at 5:36 pm

      Spot on.

  • Urbane Sturgeon August 10, 2017 at 11:23 am

I’ve seen various versions of this list with a few differences, this is a year old. One constant across all the ones I’ve seen however is Rose’s wage at £30,000. Other general wage issues aside, if he is still on that much, he is, in context, paid way too little for his services which have become exemplary. I wonder how many first choice left-backs in the Prem’s top 5 clubs are getting 30,000 a week. Clearly I’ve no idea whether or how his agent might have tried to remedy this, nor do I know what goes on at the club at all, but I can see why he might be pushing for a move away from Spuds, and, although I might if I know all the facts, I find it hard to blame him right now.

Dunno when you got these contract factoids from but Rose signed a 65k a week deal 11 months ago…

  • Devonshirespur August 10, 2017 at 11:00 am

Rose is full of horse shit! Apt really as horse shit is recommended as the best stuff to put on roses!

The guy signed a deal 10 months ago, and now hes stating “he knows his worth”. Has his worth suddenly gone up past what he knew his worth to be 10 months ago….after a season where he missed 20 league games, and is still injured.

Tell you what Rose, you will win fuck all sat in the medical centre for half a season. Rose in the FA Cup SF would have avoided the whole Son at LB debacle. Rose has missed 34 of our last 76 league games.

Injuries are no ones fault really but perhaps he should have some regard to the fact we cannot rely on him being fit before he shoots his mouth off about wanting to win stuff and wanting to be paid more.

    • Ed August 11, 2017 at 3:00 am

Knowing his worth or reading about Neymar et al?

  • Syd August 10, 2017 at 10:56 am

Chickens come home to roost…the club let him down when he came back from loan by only having him as a LB…so when as inevitably the young player made mistakes he couldn’t be taken out of the firing line..and some fans gave him too much personal abuse…he has no loyalty to Spurs, why should he?

65000 a week might be a clue….Now he wants 120000 per week and only because WE turned him into a great LB

    • shed August 10, 2017 at 11:26 am

Wages will always be an issue but don’t expect loyalty from players that the club have let down in the past…imo Kane will be more loyal…Alli imo will be off when they double his wages at RM…..

  • Caspurs♿️ August 10, 2017 at 10:56 am

The biggest problem is that Levy won’t recognise or accept that he is complicit in this fiasco. We have a chairman who believes that what he does is ALWAYS correct, and that fault always lies with other parties and not himself.

    • Camus August 10, 2017 at 10:57 am

Correct. Expect some happy news story about how amazingly the stadium build is going. Rose will probably go and nothing will change. Next summer it’s bye bye to ‘Brand Alli’, possibly others.

      • StuSpur August 10, 2017 at 11:08 am

Yeah sure, Ali will stick around. Not like he’s popular or anything

  • JuandeInternational August 10, 2017 at 10:50 am

When the 5live thing was aired I thought fair enough but don’t wash your dirty linen in public. However, when baldy came out with that ridiculous statement about our academy at the start of the US tour, I thought he needs to be called out on this.

Whether Rose is using this as a get out attempt or not, he is spot on with some of his comments. He wants competition for his place, he knows what having a player of quality coming in would give everyone a massive lift.

“I thought to myself, ‘Could we ever afford to play against a top team and afford to have Harry Kane, Dele Alli and a top centre-back not playing?”

The answer is no and the cup semi-final was the perfect illustration of this.

As we are now, the core of the current squad will be gone within the next 3 transfer windows and we’ll be left thinking about what might have been.

Over to you Levy, the ball is in your court.

    • Syd August 10, 2017 at 10:53 am

not concerned about his comments – but in public?????

      • JuandeInternational August 10, 2017 at 10:58 am

Because at the time of the 5live thing, whilst I agreed with what he said, I felt, give the club a chance to do something about it. Now it’s clear that there is no intention of that happening then all bets are off.

        • East Stand August 10, 2017 at 11:13 pm

Look we are all pissed off with the way ENIC and Levy role but Rose hasn’t actually said anything honest or revolutionary when taken in context.

Rose is simply saying some things about the club that everyone already knows. These things didn’t seem to be a problem to him 12 months ago and he contributed not a great deal to our season in the end.

Perhaps the Walker sale disappointed him, we’ll never know but the manner in which he said these things points towards him angling for a move for financial reasons.

You just don’t wash your dirty laundry in public and this idea that he’s broken ranks and spoken up for the good of the club is complete bollocks.

He’s using anything he can to get a move and trying to not make it look like it’s his fault. If you fall for his little charade then you’re thicker than he is…

    • Camus August 10, 2017 at 10:56 am

      He won’t do anything.
Might sell Rose and buy an inadequate replacement.
      That’s it.

  • Randy Lee August 10, 2017 at 10:41 am

WOW – Am I the only one who thinks Rose is kind of a hero! (kind off!! I repeat )

He was Always going to go as I said yesterday in a previous thread and will be off next season if not sooner, him and walker are like best buds they have been here through really shit times and unfortunately will never forget it (that’s how bad it was) even the golden dream that is the stadium and cheese room couldn’t hold him back from overcoming his long term injury with a big fuck you to the club.

the reaction has been interesting – he is clearly echoing what we have all been saying, is he out of order for having a quickie with some prostitute in a sleazy hotel? yes!!! but perhaps he has already voiced his frustrations privately and then got the automated response that angers us all.

IMO he wants a big money -so here’s a thought lets fucking give it to him shall we! and why not! forget what he was two three years ago and the improvements poch has made to his career , Today even after being injured he is the best LB in the league and 1st choice for England and last but not least at the moment he is irreplaceable and clearly cares about the club as this is not the first time he has mentioned signings and club ambition.

3 weeks left till deadline day who in the fuck are we going to bring in?? he is a hero the sense of what he had to say needed to be Sun Sensationalised and printed on the back of the papers so levy can have a good view, because you can tweet and comment all you like on blogs, the top people at the club or even players will never read or hear it! this imo needed to be said yet again!

Spend the fucking money and get quality players in!!
I don’t fear players leaving anymore, it’s always going to happen if we do not change our transfer policy. It is inevitable (Spursy as we know it)

good luck to him I say! oh and your move now Levy!!!

    • Camus August 10, 2017 at 10:44 am

      What’s going to happen, Randy?
We going to sign some big name players because Rose says so?
Nothing will change with our transfer window approach.

      • Randy Lee August 10, 2017 at 10:46 am

        still needs to be said!

        • Camus August 10, 2017 at 10:54 am

          Hoddle’s said it.
          Souness has said it.
Redknapp Jnr says it every summer.

          What changes?

          • Randy Lee August 10, 2017 at 10:57 am

its like racism mate, it still goes on today should people not continue to stand up against it???

    • WitTank August 10, 2017 at 10:56 am

      Completely, utterly agree.

Unfortunately there are too many Spurs fans that accept losing – Im guessing they started supporting post 1984. Not their fault, its what they have become accustomed to and its ingrained in them to finish second.

Unless this mindset changes then people will always be frightened of players like Rose speaking their mind and putting the cat among the pigeons.

  • mattspurs August 10, 2017 at 10:38 am

Is what Rose has done worse than what Ghaly did?

    • StuSpur August 10, 2017 at 10:39 am

      Yes because Rose is decent

  • Jimbo THFC August 10, 2017 at 10:37 am

Surely we must be able to find a decent left back to replace Rose and then enjoy his downfall at some other club where he is paid what he is worth!

  • Wig August 10, 2017 at 10:31 am

I wasn’t fussed about Walker leaving, seeing that Trippier had come in and been more effective. But the thought of Rose leaving guts me. Davies doesn’t have the same ability and who on earth do we have as back up if Davies gets injured? I have a feeling that Rose will not be sold, Pochettino will put his foot down to keep him

  • Spiderneil August 10, 2017 at 10:29 am

And then who do we have as full backs, newsflash, Bale isn’t a left back anymore?

    • Spiderneil August 10, 2017 at 10:29 am

This wa supposed to be a reply to Stuspur below.

      • StuSpur August 10, 2017 at 10:35 am

Nobody knows if we’ve looked at Bale, its hugely unlikely purely based on salary alone however if Davies is considered a suitable replacement then it’s reasonable to believe that rounding up stacks of cash could be for a mega signing.
If it’s to put money into the stadium build coffers then levy is writing his own death warrant

        • Syd August 10, 2017 at 10:52 am

          We haven’t…fake news

    • shed August 10, 2017 at 10:30 am

Rose to Manu…shaw in return?….I’d prefer Bertrand but Shaw can get back to the level to over take Davies in the pecking order

  • StuSpur August 10, 2017 at 10:26 am

Hypothetical question, if the sale of Walker and Rose was to facilitate funds to sign Bale, would we be happy?

    • Willy juice August 10, 2017 at 10:27 am

    • shed August 10, 2017 at 10:27 am

we’d have to sell another couple as well to afford Bale’s wages…it ain’t happening.

    • Camus August 10, 2017 at 10:30 am

He’s not coming back. Why are you asking this? It’s the worst hypothetical question I’ve ever heard.

    • Wig August 10, 2017 at 10:36 am

No way. I know it’s only hypothetical so never mind the fact we wouldn’t pay Bale’s level of wages, but actually our up front positions with Kane, Alli, Eriksen, Son are top class with some rotation available. It’s bad enough losing Walker but to lose Rose too (when I can’t think of many decent left backs of Rose’s calibre, let alone one that would be available to us if Rose left) would be destroying to our back line

  • Essex_yid August 10, 2017 at 10:26 am

Remember it’s world cup year. Tell Mr Rose you will give 100% for spurs this year or miss out on what could possibly be his last chance to play in the WC. Review it next year when hopfeully we’ll have a replacement

  • shed August 10, 2017 at 10:24 am

hopefully the club will pull their finger out and sign some quality before the exodus begins….a bad season at Wembley and we can kiss goodbye to half the team next summer….

  • shed August 10, 2017 at 10:22 am

Chickens come home to roost…the club let him down when he came back from loan by only having him as a LB…so when as inevitably the young player made mistakes he couldn’t be taken out of the firing line..and some fans gave him too much personal abuse…he has no loyalty to Spurs, why should he?

Those are the ropes, you play shit you get told, you play well you ask for a bag of money and feck off somewhere better

        • shed August 10, 2017 at 10:32 am

yeah but managers have to bring on and protect young players until they are ready…or they get wrecked. Unfortunately the manager couldn’t protect Rose as the club left him without options…

          • StuSpur August 10, 2017 at 10:38 am

He was average that is all, he wasn’t roasted like people are depicting on here. He’d played the game and was received by the fans based on his performances. The little fuckwit hasn’t had a personality change due to a few front row fans rolling their eyes at him

            • shed August 10, 2017 at 10:52 am

Perhaps but my point (regardless of Rose’s actions) is the CLUB let him down…and the manager down…

  • Giovanni Discenza August 10, 2017 at 10:21 am

Rose is not the sharpest knife in the drawer-he has been talking like this for a long time-the bit about Spurs fans is boring and the ‘I know my worth’ bit has been around for ages. Am surprised he is still with us. He needs to thank our coaching staff because before Poch arrived he was feeble.

  • Harry Hotspur August 10, 2017 at 10:17 am

Itk incoming – eye watering bid for Rose turned down recently 😕

    • Camus August 10, 2017 at 10:18 am

      Will we re-open negotiations?

      • East Stand August 10, 2017 at 10:21 am

Rose is taking the fans to court over the terribly offensive remarks about his bottom and not being very good three seasons ago. Quite right too!!

    • StuSpur August 10, 2017 at 10:23 am

Surely this was anticipated by those within the club. Makes the lack of transfer business even less excusable

    • John flynn August 10, 2017 at 10:24 am

Is this the city bid as part of the walker deal,if so I heard they offered 54m aswell which would of been combined 108mil for our fullbacks

    • Spiderneil August 10, 2017 at 10:24 am

This is why we should’ve had Sessegnon on the books by now…

How eye watering?? Nothing under 60mill will do but I’d prefer if he stayed

  • Surespur August 10, 2017 at 10:11 am

The catastrophy that this window is, in unprecedented. To have done zero inward business, 3-days before kick-off; and to have improved a direct rival, in one of their most ‘in need’ positions; and in time for them to bed him in; this is just unforgivable. And, as bang out of order as Rose is for going public, he has simply told anyone who’ll listen that a car crash is a car crash, however you decide to describe it. How the club responds is much more than worthy of analysis, which is surely is, but it is absolutely vital they get it right. It they don’t, they’ll be starting the first game in that shiney new stadium, next season, with a team that West Ham would be proud of; and possibly in the Championship.

    • John flynn August 10, 2017 at 10:20 am

I think your going a bit far, this team is not goner get relegated.lets put things into perspective we scored 18 goals in our last 3games and rose n walker were no where to be seen .its a blow but not a catastrophe by any not saying trips and Davies are world class but they are solid and with Toby and Jan the unit as a whole is still the best in the league

      • Surespur August 10, 2017 at 10:42 am

3-days until the season starts; no recognised right back; thinner squad than this time last year; playing in a stadium where every opponent will find another 10%. Sorry JF, this is a farking disaster of monumental proportions. Of course getting relegated is unlikely, but finishing mid-table isnt; and that will feel like a relegation, considering the trajectory we’ve been on.

        • mattspurs August 10, 2017 at 10:45 am

every opponent will find another 10%? So when we move to our new stadium which will be better than Wembley they’ll find another 20%?

We should just play home games on Hackney Marshes

  • Phil August 10, 2017 at 10:09 am

He has a point about everyone laying into him before Poch joined. There was some serious hate being spewed when he signed that 5 year deal, that must stick with a bloke in fairness.

    • caveman August 10, 2017 at 10:11 am

      He was crap before Pochettino.

      • Harry Hotspur August 10, 2017 at 10:13 am

He was headless fucking chicken before Poch trained him. Delusional midget

    • mattspurs August 10, 2017 at 10:12 am

That said – for all the abuse he got, especially on here…
he was pretty shit and he should be able to put his hands up and accept that

      • East Stand August 10, 2017 at 10:19 am

I can’t remember much nasty on apart from people saying he had a fat arse.

Unless he’s got body image issues involving his bottom then it wasn’t particularly nasty.

He was crap and looked like he had a big bum, terrible stuff that is…

    • East Stand August 10, 2017 at 10:13 am

Dunno about serious hate, he certainly hadn’t showed much to justify a new 5 year deal at that time from the fans perspective. The magical powers of Poch helped him come good but I certainly wasn’t expecting it…

  • mattspurs August 10, 2017 at 10:09 am

Funny thing is he’s just repeating almost verbatim what’s been written on this blog. He is a fully paid up bed wetter.

What worries me most isn’t the fact that he’s betrayed his team mates with his comments but his utter lack of belief. There was a story doing the rounds about Lamela and Rose discussing whether they could win the league and Rose thinking top 4 would be achievable not the league to which Lamela replied ‘of course we can win the league’. I want a team of flat earthers, bed wetters can do one.

    • Ronan August 10, 2017 at 10:13 am

I guess Poch, Hod and Souness are all fully paid up “bedwetters” as well.

      • mattspurs August 10, 2017 at 10:20 am

If we are going to be binary about it…

        • Ronan August 10, 2017 at 10:24 am

They don’t know the game like you do mate

          • mattspurs August 10, 2017 at 10:33 am

They seem to be a bit concerned but aren’t ‘fully paid up bedwetters’ – not nearly as negative as folk on here

Hoddle said Spurs should just get into debt to try and win the league

Souness was a bit more nuanced and was concerned by the lack of transfer spending and Levy’s tactics trying to bring in players

  • blackyiddo August 10, 2017 at 10:08 am

    Benjamin Mendy!

You’ll see this season why Pep went all out to get this guy instead of Danny Rose who is still a nobody at European and world level.

While I’m as pissed as everyone else at this interview, he’s not said anything that isn’t true and its how many of the fans feel. Problem is we can’t change much, this now puts the bald one under pressure as if he doesn’t buy and buy quality, people will forever allude to this interview.

    • Syd August 10, 2017 at 10:09 am

Should never have come out like this. Poch’s office is up the corridor and turn left… wait….right

  • crespur August 10, 2017 at 10:00 am

Well we’ve now had your summary of the Sun’s interview and slant on the Danny Rose story. We now await the “Real” story, when Danny Rose tells us all, that what he said has been misconstrued and taken completely out of text. In order to provide the Media and Bloggers more space to sell advertising and inflame fans and club alike. There is already a completely different take on this story to be found on Facebook. But Ho-hum more morons will now be screaming for Danny and Danny to do one. Someone should turn these Blogs into a realty TV show.

    • Harry Hotspur August 10, 2017 at 10:12 am

Set up your own blog mate. I’ve had enough of opening mine and reading your piss.

      Good luck.

    • mattspurs August 10, 2017 at 10:18 am

Rose’s agent is his uncle. His uncle is also Walker’s agent. Walker has just doubled or trebled his salary and joined a team of ridiculously priced superstars. The whole episode has been done to engineer a sale. Rose gets a move and a mega pay rise, his uncle walks away with a cool £10m+. Pep still needs another left back, United are in the hunt.

There is no “I was misinterpreted” here, he went to a hotel room, had photos taken talking to a journo, his uncle then embellished it a bit – he’ll get fined 2 weeks wages for giving the interview alone.

  • DaveMcG August 10, 2017 at 9:57 am

Believe that albeit this will feel like somewhat of a crisis moment, players have been and gone before and we’re still on an upward trajectory. Main concern is how this will play with poch. If he leaves I think we’re a little further back than square one. Rose is the best lb in the country. I wonder if the boy sessegnon would have signed a contract at fulham had rose been forthright at the start of the summer….

  • East Stand August 10, 2017 at 9:55 am

I agree, Levy has a manager who has raised expectations and while all Levy wants to do is lower and manage them while he pours concrete.

However Rose has behaved with zero class here, he didn’t need to do this to get his move to Manureciteh.

He and Walker are In the same position, lets cash in and move on.

Poch has sanctioned them both being available but my main concern is how he’s allowed to replace them. If this goes badly I predict that Poch will start looking to pastures new…

    • Willy juice August 10, 2017 at 9:57 am

Cash in! We don’t see the benefit of cashing in! The money won’t be used for transfers!

WHO do we replace rose with??????????

      • East Stand August 10, 2017 at 9:58 am

        I don’t know????????????

        • East Stand August 10, 2017 at 10:00 am

Let’s all slit our wrists, were we much worse with Davies at the end of the season? He has been improving well, sure Rose is exceptional in that role but not irreplaceable as long as it’s done correctly.

        • harryabbots August 10, 2017 at 10:01 am

Think we only lost one Premier League game while Rose has been injured. Get rid I say….the turncoat.

Cokehead no mark all of a sudden…

    • Al August 10, 2017 at 10:11 am

Who is your source that Poch sanctioned the sale of Rose?

There isn’t one because he hasn’t. As Harry says, he will go now. Cashing in is exactly what it is because we won’t do anything with the money, the cash will he pocketed.

Sign no one because you won’t pay the going fees or wages. Players get heads turned and ask to leave. Have no choice/an excuse to sell them. Team weakens. Fans lose interest. New stadium is part funded by those sales. But now no one wants a ticket in it. Best manager in generations realises he’s been lied to. He leaves. Everyone else follows including the single success story the academy has ever produced. Levy wanks himself to an early grave.

      • East Stand August 10, 2017 at 10:24 am

Everyone apart from Hugo, Toby, Jan, Dier, Eriksen, Alli and Kane would be considered for sale if the offer were good enough this summer.

        I’m afraid that’s the reality…

  • WitTank August 10, 2017 at 9:55 am

I love Danny Rose, by far the most exciting player both on and off the pitch.

He has ambition, He wants to win and get paid the going rate.

He is the heart beat of our team.

“we need 2 or 3 class players, not those you have to look up on Google”

    – best quote from a footballer I’ve heard for a long time.

We cannot afford to lose Rose and this is a timely kick up Levy’s arse to display major ambition for the team and not have orgasms thinking about money. You’ve got your big swish house in Cuffley Daniel, you’re kids and wife will be well looked after and remember, you can’t take it with you.

And Rose utterly dispels the myth that Trippier for all his qualities is a better full back than Walker. If it were the case Manchester City would have bought him instead.

    • Syd August 10, 2017 at 9:56 am

I am not sure he actually said that in the interview

    • Willy juice August 10, 2017 at 9:58 am

    • mattspurs August 10, 2017 at 9:58 am

If I was Janssen or Nkoudou I might think about twatting the guy at work today – who the fuck was Danny Rose when we signed him?

      • WitTank August 10, 2017 at 10:10 am

Its more a question of who is Danny Rose when Levy sells him to fund the stadium

  • Syd August 10, 2017 at 9:54 am

I feel conspiracy here. He has already spoken to Josephine and he told him to come out and air his grievances and then the devils will make a bid.
Unless Rose went into Levy’s office or Poch’s office and aired these grievances there first but was ignored then I am pissed off with him coming out in public first. This is a shame. he is the best left back in Europe.
    It has become untenable

  • StuSpur August 10, 2017 at 9:53 am

For me it all comes back to Levy.

Players aren’t football fans. Maybe there were fans up until they turned pro and acquired a posse of leaches blowing smoke up their arses. From that point on they become football contractors. The badge/shirt is a uniform they put on for whichever company they have agreed to work for.

If you’re working for a company and you show much promise you begin to learn your value. You ask yourself what you’re achieving and if you’re making a decent wedge.
For a pilot perhaps it flying a 747, for a chef perhaps it’s cooking for the queen. Footballers want trophies and money.

We have seen 2 season go past us where we have genuinely challenged for the title and in neither of those proceeding transfer windows nor this one have we seen the company offer a compelling image that these employees are to be given the tools to help them achieve these targets.
What right does the company have to expect them to stick around?

I hate modern football but it is what it is. You slug it out with the bastards in the transfer market, you take on debt if you have to, whatever it takes to keep the progress going and the employees happy.

The predictability of all this is so overwhelmingly infuriating that it has become numbing.
Rose will now need to go, we only have a 2nd choice left back and no cover for a right back. Our midfielder has one knee and our star players will now be experiencing extremely twitchy arseholes.

    Levy Out!

  • Loggo August 10, 2017 at 9:49 am

Rose doesn’t get paid parity because….he isn’t on a par.

He is the most over rated player I’ve seen in an entire lifetime of following spurs. That’s a huge statement and not one I make lightly. One half decent season (followed by an injury ravaged second half) is no cause for us to get excited about a player of limited ability and brainpower.

He believes he’s better. There doesn’t need to be a big drama. Sell him, take whatever fee we can get and and sign someone for a quarter of the fee who will be twice as good. He’ll earn better elsewhere. Everyone is happy.

Barring some sort of blip in the matrix of Leicester-esque proportions, we won’t win anything under anybody. But I’m enjoying watching excellent entertaining football.

    Carry on Daniel.

    • Willy juice August 10, 2017 at 9:52 am

Name a lb that’s twice as good!

    • Syd August 10, 2017 at 9:59 am

  • GrayDeMan August 10, 2017 at 9:49 am

Haven’t I only just read somewhere that he was happy and wants to see out the rest of his career at Spurs? Didn’t he sign a new contract? You don’t do an interview like this unless you have been tapped up first.

    • Willy juice August 10, 2017 at 9:53 am

What does it matter if he was tapped up!

      • Syd August 10, 2017 at 9:55 am

    • John flynn August 10, 2017 at 9:49 am

Don’t think this ones on levy.its almost as if rose and walker sat down with a 3rd party that maybe links them both and they colluded to go get filthy rich in the city of Manchester and still be able to share bunk beds.

      • StuSpur August 10, 2017 at 9:54 am

Largely due to our inability to win trophies due to our weak squad

    • Harry Hotspur August 10, 2017 at 9:58 am

After we won the League cup, that team dismantled in hours. Everyone at Spurs is always looking to bail.

    • WitTank August 10, 2017 at 10:11 am

      Absolutely agree.
The volcano is erupting & its all down to one greedy money obsessed businessman

  • Matt August 10, 2017 at 9:45 am

Danny seems to be an honest bloke who says what he thinks without spin. A good wingback. Injury prone. Not as athletic as walker. Doesn’t deliver like Tripps. But good nonetheless. We’d rather have him than not. But if MU want to pay 50m+ for an injury prone 27 year old, bring it on. Wonder how he’d pass a medical at this time? if we get a good replacement we should sell. If not, don’t. No drama for me.

    • Freund or Foe August 10, 2017 at 9:52 am

Massive drama for me. Not the fact that he’s irreplaceable, he is, it’s all about the way he’s done it. I don’t blame him for wanting more money and success, but to tell this to a Sun reporter rather than directly to the club personally, or even through his agent, is unbelievable behaviour. Put in a written transfer request and I’d wish you good luck and thank you for the years you’ve given. Thick Walker left with no bad taste in the mouth, he kept quiet, got his move and hopefully for him, will get success.
If I were Poch I’d let this little shit spend the rest of his contract rotting in the reserves.

    • Ronan August 10, 2017 at 9:57 am

Anybody else we can do without? Toby, the Moose and Hugo are all over 25. Might be time to cash in before their value decreases.

    • Harry Hotspur August 10, 2017 at 9:59 am

How do you envisage a scenario whereby he stays after this, serious question.

      • John flynn August 10, 2017 at 10:09 am
