Difficult to make a comment upon specifics when the FA issue a fatwa on broadcast rights.
Based upon comments made to me by two different people who actually were at the game, the suggestion has been that we didn’t really take City seriously enough, and that after we scored, Spurs looked as if they thought they had it in the bag.
But the bag had a hole in it.
To conceed twice in the last 7 minutes of a home game against a side stuck to the bottom of the league table, in a game which we were winning says it all.
It only serves to re-inforce the assumption that Tottenham Hotspur Football Club are a weak lot, at heart.
Apologists will mumble something along the lines of ‘yeah but look at how Chelsea and City did…‘, or that somehow this was a ‘blessing in disguise‘.
Anyone proffering either of these responses to today’s loss, should mail their CV into Levy & Co immediately. I’d imagine they’d be hired by teatime on Monday.
