Strange week for transfer rumours.

A peek outside the Tottenham bubble and you’ll find quite a lot happening.

Most big clubs are linked with a any number of possible incoming players and when you look at manager quotes, its all very much about reinforcing and making statements.

One can only hope that Spurs are like swans, serene on the surface, but industrially grinding away below in order to maintain their grace.

There is a distinct feeling that the press are tried with recycling variants of Anthony Martial and Toby Alderweireld rumours.

Anyone begrudging Toby a pay rise by the way may wish to know he soon will have an extra mouth to feed.

This from the Belgian’s Instagram.

Congratulations, matey.

Watched the England v Nigeria replay last night. Dele was the best player on the pitch, Sterling a selfish c*nt. If Southgate has the balls to bench Stones for Maguire and bench Sterling for Vardy, play Cahill in the middle, Vardy up top with Kane in that roving striker role he had Sterling playing; this team might go places.

Their financial state is old news.
The ITK during the Bale saga was that Levy was trying to impose harsh
payment terms that he nearly got done but for the final week strop by Bale.

If you asked them to pay most of it up front like Citeh had to do for
Walker, then they would be screwed (hence the equally state-backed
media campaigns to attempt to unsettle people – which failed in the
case of Pochettino because it was based on a lie) .

    100% correct.

Is it just me or is the shine starting to wear off at Real Madrid. ZZ left because he saw the writing on the wall. Ageing team, can’t get the first choice managers they want to replace him – Even rumours about top class players leaving whilst still at their peak is unheard of.

They may lose Ronaldo and/or Bale but there are just no absolute great individuals to replace them in world football atm.
They are definitely coming back to the field. Barcelona won’t be far behind.

    • Harry Hotspur June 3, 2018 at 1:48 pm

  • Matt June 3, 2018 at 1:13 pm

Interesting article in The Telegraph. The gist is that Madrid’s financial position isn’t great. The 50m they’d have to pay for Poch and the uncertainty of dealing with Levy is material to them (incredibly) and has scared them off. The lack of an escape clause and Levy’s likely stance has done for them. Hope it’s all true.

    • gloster1861 June 3, 2018 at 1:18 pm

AND… It’s possible an incoming Socialist Prime Minister means no longer a sympathetic ear at the Spanish Treasury to bail them out. RM have been the right wings establishment club since General Franco’s days.

Yeah, Spurs are always in a state of being alive AND dead simultaneously….

Plus next season we will be playing at Wembley/NWHL/Both.

A state of flux. Spurs are totally fluxed up.

    • Matt June 3, 2018 at 1:16 pm

I think we can only play CL at both. For EPL it has to be one or the other. Mind you; still flux. The thing is; even if it’s N17 all the way, will that feel less like Home than Wembley for a year at least? Unless we get some serious quality in we are going to struggle next year.

      • gloster1861 June 3, 2018 at 1:20 pm

I was bothered to read the league regulations and the matter of not having two home grounds in one season can be overcome by granted special dispensation by the committee. In other words, bribery.

Another factor that the price conscious Levy might be looking at, is the euro exchange rate. Currently the ten million euro offer for Dembele is worth 8.7 million pounds, but that would have been over 9 Million a month ago.
