The top echelon of lads are tied down until 2020, with stragglers such as Bonzo, Danny Rose’s etc agreements being good until 2018.
Gladys believes that the Christian Eriksen negotiations have become protracted, but in a good way.
The 23 year old signed with us on the 30 Aug 2013, on what was reported at the time to be a 5 year deal.
Spurs want to gently bring Eriksen into the senior fold – to such an extent that THFC are seeking to entice the Dane to sign another 5 year deal.
Contract of this length are uncommon, perhaps this is more reflective to the wholesale absence of trust in the game, but Eden Hazard recently committed to Chelsea for 5½ years.
Discussing the negotiations, Eriksen told Danish broadcaster TV3 Sport: “We are talking about a contract, so it is coming, yes. Well, it looks positive.”
A big deal for a major player would be great statement, especially on the dawn of such brave new world heading toward N17.
