Full Kit Bankers

By The Boy -

Anyone seen sporting this season’s replica kit from head to toe won’t look moronic, so much as minted.

The full elite versions of the Nike apparel will run the proud owner about £160.

The shirt is £90, shorts priced at £55 and socks a mere £15.

You won’t save much by buying the not so elite version of the shirt – that costs £65.

The unchecked opportunism running through all the club’s activities has yet to effect the playing personnel, of course.

I’m not a communist, I just question who is going to spend all this money and how long will they keep doing so?

Is our demographic now primarily bankers?

Match-day experiences™ costing hundreds of pounds and polyester merchandise that now retails at the same price points as a designer label are certainly what every club dreams of, but having the front to make these offers for a club that doesn’t win anything is beyond ambitious.

Maybe I’m out of touch.

Maybe Harry Kane winning these Golden Boot things, and installing 20 restaurants in a stadium is what it’s all about these days.

Fans seem less than impressed.
