Forget Yakin This Is The One

By The Boy -

Good evenin’.

I was asked to give my thoughts to ironviews.com ahead of this evening’s soiree. So I did.

IV Another week where we find ourselves with an extra midweek fixture as the games start coming thick and fast. For tonight’s Cup match I had a quick chat with www.theboyhotspur.com (@theboyhotspur) so as always a big thanks to them for their time.

IV The news on most football fans lips right now is that of AVB’s departure from Tottenham despite being your most successful (win percentage wise at least) manager to date. What went wrong for AVB and what is the general consensus from Spurs fans?

HH 20% of our fans are noisy, backward, tossers drowning in their own sense of entitlement. AVB was probably doomed from the start. Our boardroom has a great business model, but not the remotest idea of how to run a football club.

IV Who would you realistically want to replace him – and will he get a fair crack of the whip, or will Levy drop the axe as soon as the fans get agitated again?

HH To be honest, Bruce Forsyth. He’s a fan, he can work a crowd and the old buzzard doesn’t have long to go. Which ties in neatly with the life expectancy as a Spurs manager.

IV It’s something people say/said about Liverpool – although they look to have come good this year – but that Spurs and their fans suffer from delusions of grandeur. Do you feel that this could be the reason why you struggle to achieve – because really – you’re expecting too much?

HH I totally agree mate. Far too much expectancy. 7 new first team players in, a number of which the coach didn’t pick? Time was required.

IV To put it simply; do you feel the Bale money was wasted, or has it been spent wisely?

HH Heh, if the next clown to accept the post works wonders, we’ll know!

IV For all your investment you still seem quite weak at the back and can’t seem to eradicate the individual errors back there; is this a deep rooted problem or just ‘one of those things’ you have accepted?

HH As per a previous answer, we’ve been run like a business to the extent that it’s been to the detriment of the football.

IV What did you honestly make of our game at White Hart Lane earlier this season?

HH I thought I needed to go to the toilet a lot. Which was handy. As a fan, I’d had my pants pulled down.

IV If you could pick any player from our side to harass and link yourselves with before buying them on the cheap (not bitter…much!) who would you pick to play for Spurs and why?

HH I would have to say Carlton Cole. He’s the comedy gift that keeps on giving. We like a laugh at The Lane.

IV It’s hard to guess who will start for both sides as we both have our fair share of injuries and suspensions – but who would you say will affect the game the most from both sides on Wednesday Evening?

HH Sherwood. He’s a prize cσck. I hope we batter you, if we do, I won’t credit him. You boys need to back Sam, he’s not perfect, but who is?

IV What comes to mind when you think of West Ham United?

HH Twitter arrests.

IV What do you make of our securing of, and future move, into the Olympic Stadium?

HH I’m reminded of a girl I met in a Chelmsford nightclub once. She said “If you fill it, I’ll tell you I love you.”

IV Where do you think Spurs will finish this season, and likewise where do you think West Ham will?

HH You’ll get relegated, we won’t.

IV Final question; what is your prediction for the game, heart and head?

HH Blimey. Heart = Sherwood’s a prize cδck. Head = we might grow a pair and win by “a” goal.
