Calcio Insider believe that one big big name Pochettino’s new project shortlist is that of Bundesliga ace Christian Pulisic. This was previously mooted by Mirror Sport.

Pulisic is only 19, however he has been linked with moves to the Premier League before today.

Liverpool were thought to be keen on the USA born boy, but the price last summer of £25million was perhaps felt to be a little strong for Jurgen Klopp who had more pressing squad area to attend to. An exploratory bid was tabled but nothing more transpired.

This summer it is highly likely that Christian would cost closer to £40million.

The Borrusia Dortmund star is viewed as a versatile winger, and with his contract due to expire in 2019, this could be the right time for Tottenham to step in.

With a midfield that all too frequently bores itself into submission – with endless bumbling about from the likes of Son and Lamela – the introduction of a thoroughbred player such as Christian who is match fit and already in receipt of rave notices could be just the ticket.

This is what appeals to me most, the boy doesn’t have a backstory.

Pulisic is the real deal. BELIEVE ME. But the notion that we (or any club for that matter) could get him for 40M in today’s market is a bit naive. As an American Yid, I’ve watched Pulisic play in dozens of games over the past few years and think he’s probably worth as much as Dele. They’re around the same level of quality today, but Pulisic’s potential ceiling is higher than Dele’s. He could very well be the next Messi – he’s that good. I don’t make that claim lightly, but what sets Pulisic apart is his drive and determination to constantly improve and succeed. That’s something that only the very best players have. His mentality reminds me of Kane in many ways. He’s entirely confident in himself and his abilities, but not arrogant. And despite his rapid ascent and relative success, he has kept his feet firmly planted on the ground and always keeps things in perspective. He’s also loyal, which is why we won’t get him. He’s made several quotes about how grateful he is to Dortmund for giving him his first break. I expect he’ll want to repay the favor for many years.

I agree we should get him but I’d like lemela to stay we need depth

Like it. Get him in. Lamela out. Don’t need him, son and Moura and though I love his effort I think son and Moura will offer more goals.

Too good and too expensive for us. I think DeFoe could be available.

Horndog is right. Pulisic is the only star player on the US team and that has potentially a big payoff for our efforts to make more inroads into the US market. Quite remarkable strides have already been made in the last few years (viewership of Spurs matches, sales of Kane shirts, etc–very rare to see a Spurs jersey until recently).

Good player but I doubt £40m would get him.

Poch goes Trump in the night:

“People always ask me about Tottenham, It’s fantastic. Let me tell you about Tottenham. I do very well with Tottenham. I love Tottenham. No one loves Tottenham more than me, BELIEVE ME. Tottenham loves me. We’re going to have so many Tottenham you are going to get sick of Tottenham. The Tottenham just got 10 feet higher. I have the best Tottenham.”

Seen the show reel. Pulicic looks like the player I hoped Lamela would be when we bought him.
H – Agree with your view. We are on the cusp of something but, whatever it is, it will be either good or bad. We live in interesting times.

      Fix Bayonets!

Pulicic would be a very smart move – I fear that Bayern will get him since they always pounce on poor poor Dortmund. So many (good) options out there that we will never get because Baldy won’t pay – Mahrez, Zaha, and what about bringing Payet back to London and let him play for a decent Club this time…?

So it seems Everton will probably go for Marco Silva but where do wet spam go from here? For a man with previous prem experience or a name manager? My feeling is they’ll go for an ex Chelsea or Man City boss.

for the spammers the chuckle brothers would be a good fit

Moves gone, check. Allardyce gone, check. Pulisic in, check ( plus he’s an USA ‘un, which makes him special. 😬.)

    • Horndog 🇺🇸 May 16, 2018 at 1:04 pm

      Moyes, ffs

      • Elevenstonedidiots May 16, 2018 at 1:16 pm

        He Moyes in mysterious ways

  • David Dillenberg May 16, 2018 at 12:44 pm

    Pulicic is on my list!

    West Ham sack Moyes.
    Allardyce next?

David Moyes: West Ham manager departs after just six months in charge.
We feel that it is right to move in a different direction.
“We aim to appoint a high-calibre figure who we feel will lead the club into an exciting future for our loyal supporters within the next 10 days.”

      High calibre figure? (chuckle chuckle!)

    • Serby Spur May 16, 2018 at 1:04 pm

yep, FatSam gone, Moyes gone, Pulis in 2nd division, Pardew unemployable after WBA fiasco.
But seems Hughes may be bucking this new trend
