Failure For Sale – Levy Ready To Pounce

Failure For Sale – Levy Ready To Pounce

Calciomercato ran this headline over a year ago : “Kovačić Failure: He is already for sale” the 23 year old Croation was also described as “an expensive reserve unable to make his mark who will probably will start again with a new team and a new project”.

Spurs and Sevilla were names as clubs that had enquired about the midfielder, if all else failed, then the boy could possibly return to Inter – that was mooted as a third option.

The report also mentions the possibility he could return to Inter Milan.

Also in 2016 AS Sport mooted a Spurs link saying that Poch favoured Mateo Kovačić for Champions League football.

Fast forward to 2017 and a rather process of elimination has this transfer not just reheated, but positively simmering. TOTTENHAM ON VERGE OF SIGNING REAL MADRID ACE!!!

Kovačić has struggled for game time at Real Madrid, which of course doesn’t make him a bad person. He made their starting XI 19 times last term and 8 times the season before.

Why has this one resurfaced? Kovačić could find himself edged out of the Los Blancos squad as Real steady themselves to sign Dani Cabellos from Real Betis.

I don’t believe any of the speculation over us buying players from Italy/Spain. Fingers got too badly burned over Lamela, Soldado. The big clubs over there have made Levy their bitch and he knows it. As for Everton it feels like us when we sold Golden Bollocks. Koeman will be a genius if he gets that little lot to play cohesively before year end. I kind of hope we get Barkley though cos he gives options for the future if Dembele and/or Eriksen move on.

  • Yidolad July 9, 2017 at 3:12 pm

I would buy him based on his champions league experience. If we pay enough I think Real will forget about the buy out clause. Him and Wanyama could be a partnership for years to come!

  • Panama Paul July 9, 2017 at 1:55 pm

Didn’t realise Finch Farm was Everton’s training ground. Thought Rooney may have been prowling around a retirement village. All good then.

  • Totspurs July 9, 2017 at 1:53 pm

Both poor signings as well Taff
    Rooney past it
    Klassen average

Both be on decent wages too! Thing is Everton don’t really need to sell Barkley and if we don’t stump up £26+ I’d expect the likes of Stoke West Ham and Palace to come into the picture late on. We will only buy when we sell and I’d say we will be in a plus net spend as well Sissoko £20 mil Marseille Walker £45+ Citeh Wimmer £12 mil + Bundesliga or lower prem team West Brom Southampton etc… Can see us buying Prem CM/AM probably Barkley foreign winger/striker Berardi possibly and back up RB/CB Maybe Veltman cant see us doing much more than that tbh certainly no big signings Kovacevic Isco Mahrez etc… we won’t do it and have no history of doing it under Levy/Enics

Tottenham’s billionaire owner Joe Lewis has set a £2billion asking price for Tottenham after rejecting a bid from a firm backed by Facebook chief Mark Zuckerberg, according to the Sunday Times.

The newspaper claim that secretive American company Iconiq Capital has held extensive talks via buyout firms about taking control of the north London club.

The Sunday Times report that Iconiq, who began negotiations about buying Spurs with the private equity giant Blackstone in 2014, have tabled a bid of £882.6million for the Premier League outfit.

It is said that offer was firmly rejected by Tottenham’s billionaire owner Lewis, who is holding out for £2billion.

    • UnkleTaff July 9, 2017 at 1:58 pm

Taff’s soon-to-be-legendary IDHAFC says that this is a load of old bollocks and that neither Lewis nor Levy have any intention of selling the club for any price.

Stories like this serve one function and one function alone — to raise the profile.

      • spurs108 July 9, 2017 at 3:31 pm

ENIC is an investment company – they will sell it soon as the price is peaked imo and without the current level of tv money the price will drop sharply. It’s odds on they will sell it as soon as the stadium is finished. The risk is too high for them to keep it longer.

        • Harry Hotspur July 9, 2017 at 3:42 pm

What risk? Levy is the book-keeper and he doesn’t knowingly take any risks!

          • spurs108 July 9, 2017 at 3:49 pm

            My point exactly –

TV money cannot be kept at the current levels and the possibility of us finishing in top 4 is diminishing after each day of this transfer window

  • melcyid July 9, 2017 at 1:42 pm

whens monkey boy coming back,he owes us big time he had his ears pinned back on our watch

  • UnkleTaff July 9, 2017 at 1:42 pm

    First Klaassen now Rooney…

Doesn’t exactly look like Everton are planning for a future which involves Ross Barkley.

  • Totspurs July 9, 2017 at 1:41 pm

Not happening whatsoever! £22 mil no chance Real wouldn’t want to lose money only way would be £30 mil euros with a buy back will Levy won’t touch. This ones a non starter

Mate, in a few weeks’ time Jake Livermore won’t look too bad.

      • UnkleTaff July 9, 2017 at 1:43 pm

That’s “England-international” Jake Livermore to you.

Have you recovered from your ice-cream binge yet?

The thing is with that and most vegan stuff is that you don’t need that much. Nevertheless I did smash the top two inches of the bastard.

The Alpo is good but I have to say I prefer the Swedish Glace. A few years ago they came in a wonderful range of flavours but now it’s only the vanilla, chocolate and (occasionally) raspberry that seem to be available.

The no-longer-available blueberry Swedish Glace was just sensational.

            • Harry Hotspur July 9, 2017 at 3:35 pm

There’s an Italian glace chocolate ice thing that Mde de Hotspur gets…a Choc/Vanilla ice cream in a soft biscuit sandwich thing from Ocado. That is bloody lovely.

    EFC are spending.

THFC are not spending. Who would you write transfer stories about?!

    • Horndog July 9, 2017 at 1:22 pm

We aren’t spending, we’re spinning. Reminds me of an old song by Blood Sweat and Tears…

  • John Flynn July 9, 2017 at 12:50 pm

All this spending by Everton but besides from the boy keane you can’t really say they’ve improved there squad . Adding Rooney will be the final nail in there coffin

    • Andreas July 9, 2017 at 12:56 pm

True, Loukakou’s goals will be missed. They do have a good squad though, and I think ross Barclay would do well with us

  • Andreas July 9, 2017 at 12:33 pm

Madrid will only sell kovacic to us if we include Delli in deal.

  • Horndog July 9, 2017 at 12:31 pm

Video analysis only, but he looks a player. He would look good in a Spurs shirt and could add valued depth.

    • Harry Hotspur July 9, 2017 at 12:42 pm

I’m having problems with £22m – if you were RM and he was good – why sell him so cheap?

      Makes no sense at all…

      • Andreas July 9, 2017 at 12:45 pm

I would love to buy Isco from madrid, top player.

          • McG ⚽⚽ July 9, 2017 at 1:02 pm

I would like to buy Isco too. Would you like to see my Blue Peter badge? I also have my 10 metre swimming certificate.

          • Andreas July 9, 2017 at 1:06 pm

Are you saying I am being unrealistic or that Isco is no good?
Of course we won’t buy him, but I can hope, because that is just about all we have as Spurs fans.

      • SpurAndy 🍒π July 9, 2017 at 1:07 pm

£22m makes a bit of sense if there’s a buy back clause. In which case Levy is ooot.

        • Harry Hotspur July 9, 2017 at 1:09 pm

Buy back clauses won’t count for shit with Daniel.

      • Horndog July 9, 2017 at 1:15 pm

        Well there is that.
