Tottenham Hotspur are going all out to land Crystal Palace’s Wilfried Zaha and want the deal done in order to secure the 24 year old in the impending January Window.

The attacking Côte d’Ivoire midfielder is in his fourth season at Selhurst Park and it’s been far from plain sailing. In fact, that would be an accurate description of his entire career.

Zaha’s time at Palace has been dogged with injuries, here’s a summary:  Knee Injury 12/08/17 12/10/17, Knock 21/05/17 30/05/17, Hamstring 22/09/16 28/09/16, Hamstring 24/04/16 19/05/16, Shoulder Injury 13/04/16 15/04/16, Ankle/Foot Injury 27/02/16 28/02/16.

Abidjan born ‘Big Wilf’ caught everyone’s eye during his first four season spell at Crystal Palace, where he was signed by Manchester United only to make just two Premier League appearances before being loaned out to Cardiff City.

It was then back to Palace.

Zaha has been linked on and off with variety of clubs over that past few seasons but the main stumbling block has always been an inflated valuation.

Gladys believes that Spurs have now struck a deal that works for both parties and both Poch and Levy want this wrapped up for the new year. Wilfried is itching to be a Lilywhite. Personal terms are agreed.

This is an opportunistic move for us, but once that sends a very bad message out the Eagles who have been flirting with relegation since the opening day of the season.

Palace 2 West Ham 2 since Zaha returned to the side after missing 7 games.
How did Spurs get on against Chelsea and West Ham ?

The story is nonsense. CP directors are fuming.

Gain popularity? Are you some sort of fucking moron? This blog has been pumping out top quality itk for years and not one Spurs blog has close to my traffic. Resurgent? Have a look a the fucking table, you mental midget.

    • Al November 1, 2017 at 1:23 pm

This site is the only Spurs site I’m aware of that gets decent ITK. The Zaha story has been rumbling for a long time.

  • martin benson November 1, 2017 at 12:20 pm

I would worry about how Spurs are going to hold on to THEIR coveted stars rather than publish what you would like to happen regarding Zaha and claim it as fact when it is fiction as he is not available for transfer and recently signed a new Palace contract to stop these rumours.

    • Harry Hotspur November 1, 2017 at 12:57 pm

Why are you still on here whining about Zaha? Has it come to this? Zaha is quite frankly shit. And you’re still wetting your bed about him?

I’d jack football in mate, you’ve lost all reason.

And you’re going to be relegated. Zaha is the least of your worries.

Palace fans are amazed at how many Spurs fans actually believe that Palace are going to sell a player who is delighted to have recently extended his contract on more money than any Spurs player is earning.

There is no truth in the Zaha to Spurs rumour and he is not for sale.

    • Not a Real Fan. November 1, 2017 at 2:23 am

Tell it to Simon Jordan, mate.

    • Harry Hotspur November 1, 2017 at 7:40 am

Palace fans are going to be even more amazed when you get relegated. If I were you I’d save some amazement for that inglorious moment, particularly as the chances of you ever returning are approximately zero.

  • Ufluckinplic October 31, 2017 at 11:59 pm

Palace will take cash and if true this is a sign that Woy is not happy with his squad to fight a relegation battle with Palace. It will be interesting to see how Wilf plays against us (if fit 😂)

I’m not sure either are priority signings at the moment, they’d get in the side as rotation but can’t see where they’d play at the moment. Curtains for NoClue if Zaha’s in surely?

          • Syd 😎 October 31, 2017 at 9:59 pm

  • OrganicPaper October 31, 2017 at 5:19 pm

Id be happy to see him come in January – for the right money. Im sure DL isnt looking to break the bank anytime soon and perhaps Wilf Himself has told the Palace he wants to leave.
On his day he is a fantastic player, would improve our squad.
He also counts as home-grown so I believe can be registered in our CL squad

Zaha who recently signed a new long term Palace contract is not for sale and certainly not for the £30m valuation that the media have suggested.

His new contract now is worth £25m and it is for a further 5 years and so Palace can set any valuation if they wanted to sell

What is this Kim Kardashian phenenomenan, 100 Million followers, is it a Cult ?

It all started with the father, Robert Kardashian, who was one of OJ Simpson’s defense attorneys. That trial was such a media circus that even the attorneys became celebrities, and even their families were stalked by the press. While Kardashian condemned this new level of scrutiny, his ex-wife, Kris, and daughters saw it as an opportunity. They cultivated relationships with famous people, made possible because they too were known to everyone. It grew from there.

Basically, they’re famous for being famous.

    • Flynnbob October 31, 2017 at 6:33 pm

Just watching Spurs & Utd now. If Poch can polish turds into an effective team the Jose has the ability to turn quality players into a collection of turds. I thank God I am not a Utd season ticket holder. Minimum 19 games of the shit currently being served up would not be vindicated by a title win for me, I would hate football. I do understand that for some the league title is the be all and end all in place of good football. The good news is that Utd will drop points at Chelsea this week.

    • Spurs est_1882 October 31, 2017 at 2:20 pm

IMO one area of the team that the Arse have better strength of depth over Spurs is on the attacking front where they recently played their exciting future starlet, 18 yr old Eddie Nketiah (resembling Ian Wright) who scored 2 goals in their recent LC win over Norwich.

    • gloster1861 October 31, 2017 at 1:48 pm

And presumably we’ll want cash on the nail from United for Danny Rose then. Which can be spent on Zaha and Sessegnon.

Yeah, but the Poch time at Southampton was pre-injury, and he felt he was too lazy and not willing to put in what it takes. Jose has said the same. I always thought Shaw could be good for us too, but in the light of this, I cant see it.

Must have rang him at the weekend to check his ronglish league position then !

  • gloster1861 October 31, 2017 at 1:29 pm

What we didn’t have against ManUre was Kane creating space be moving the central defenders about. In addition to his strikes, the amount of effort Kane puts in dragging defenders about cannot be underestimated. And they have to track him because he can shoot from distance with either foot. He must be a defender’s nightmare.

    • Spurs est_1882 October 31, 2017 at 1:36 pm

What we didn’t have against Man Ure was a clue on how to break down the “Great wall of Jose” – When we finally broke it, Alli was too busy thinking about his celebration rather than actually touching the ball.

      • David Dillenberg October 31, 2017 at 1:44 pm

Spurs est 1882 I don’t Alli whatsover for that costly miss. Yes on another day he might have converted but because his chance was a difficult one to execute he is blameless. Perhaps you should reserve your ire for Poch’s team selection omitting LLorente from the line up for starters!

        • gloster1861 October 31, 2017 at 1:50 pm

Dilly, at this level games are decided by taking hard chances. Martial took his with a cracking finish, and Dele didn’t.

          • David Dillenberg October 31, 2017 at 1:55 pm

Agreed but IMO Martial’s was easier than Alli’s chance.

        • Spurs est_1882 October 31, 2017 at 1:51 pm

I must admit, if I am Lorente, I would be asking what I was brought to Spurs to do if Kane is out and I still don’t play. I think Poch will go against Real in the same shape as before, and didn’t want to risk our only fit striker. Very poor form in the league if I am right.

        • Spurs est_1882 October 31, 2017 at 1:52 pm

It was not that tough a chance, the ball came a long way, and he had done the hard part getting there.

      • Kwakspur October 31, 2017 at 1:49 pm

Thats unfair, if you watch again, just before Alli kicks the ball the defender next to him just catches his foot, causing Alli to put it wide.

We were very unlucky, but at the other end as usual Dier makes the mistake that costs us. Shame Poch was saving Sanchez for tomorrow…

        • Matt October 31, 2017 at 1:54 pm

    • Spurs est_1882 October 31, 2017 at 1:12 pm

Injury prone is a bit harsh, 18weeks over 4years is not all that bad. As for cost, I would guess they would want £20m or a decent swap.

      • Freund or Foe October 31, 2017 at 1:16 pm

Can’t see Woy staying at Palace if the silly sods sell off their best players.

        • Spurs est_1882 October 31, 2017 at 1:26 pm

You think they will get £40m or £50m for him? I am out of touch with the lunacy of the modern market, but there has to be better players than him for £20m.

          • Freund or Foe October 31, 2017 at 1:32 pm

I don’t think they want to sell, why would they? But value wise, we sold Wimmer for 18mil, a relatively untried defender with probably less than 25 PL games under his belt. Zaha had 7 goals and 9 assists last season. I’m not sure who would be available for 20mil or less that wouldn’t be a complete punt.

          • gloster1861 October 31, 2017 at 1:33 pm

I assume they don’t want to sell him so the price tag will carry a premium. Especially in January.

If we got to January and Spurs were in a two horse race for the title, then reinforcing the attack could be sensible. But two months away?

      • Harry Hotspur October 31, 2017 at 1:06 pm

There’s nothing he doesn’t know about spitting

    • Mad Carew October 31, 2017 at 12:15 pm

      Kevin Spacey…I’m coming out

      ?w=450

      • Harry Hotspur October 31, 2017 at 1:05 pm

‘How many young boys are under the frock, Kev?’

  • Mad Carew October 31, 2017 at 12:05 pm

Hindsight is a wonderful thing but I think most managers would have subbed Kane after an hour when 3-0 up against Liverpool considering the fixtures to come. Management is about Managing resources.

    • Spurs est_1882 October 31, 2017 at 12:21 pm

Kane was on for a hat-trick against a very ropey back line. If Poch had taken him off when fit, it would have been the 3rd hat trick so far this season that he has been stopped from completing. I think Poch was aware of that.

      • Mad Carew October 31, 2017 at 1:21 pm

Poch is the manager, Kane is the Player, Harry does not see the big picture.

    • Freund or Foe October 31, 2017 at 1:24 pm

We were never 3-0 up, but apart from that…

      • mattspurs October 31, 2017 at 2:15 pm

Don’t ever let facts get in the way of a rant

  • Spurs est_1882 October 31, 2017 at 12:00 pm

Wanyama maybe out for the rest of the season??

  • SpurAndy 🍒π October 31, 2017 at 11:53 am

I’ve come round to thinking he’d be a valuable addition. Elements of unpredictability with a touch of pace and an aroma of good attitude. If my validation is not good enough to get this done I don’t know what is.

  • Sid Trotter October 31, 2017 at 11:49 am

He would actually be good for us. Not sure if he would muck in on a cold december evening in the pissing freezing rain against huddersfield, but ihe’s in form now and looking good

  • 💋 October 31, 2017 at 11:47 am

Spacey aplogises for inappropriate behaviour he can’t remember. Although he can remember that his inappropriate behaviour was ‘drunken’!

    • Mad Carew October 31, 2017 at 11:48 am

Only because he read about it on Sunday.

    • Spurs est_1882 October 31, 2017 at 11:56 am

I find it funny that he is accused of something 30yrs later by an actor forwarding his own career…there is no evidence, one word against the other, but yet Spacey has been sacked from his job. Not saying he is innocent by the way, but its a scary precedent.

      • 💋 October 31, 2017 at 12:15 pm

What about Weinstein? He has already been hanged drawn and quartered without so much as a charge.

        • Mad Carew October 31, 2017 at 12:17 pm

Yes but he admitted he needed help for his addiction !

        • Harry Hotspur October 31, 2017 at 12:17 pm

Don’t get in the way, there are hangings to be done here and this talk of due process is slowing down all the fun!

        • Spurs est_1882 October 31, 2017 at 12:24 pm

Weinstein all but admitted to his actions (although denying the crimes) – There have been a long queue of people accusing him (not all I believe) and has been well known in Hollywood for so long that they even made jokes in shows (and Seth Macfarlane during the Oscars). Spacey has been accused by one person, and that person picked a time 30yrs ago and claimed Spacey was drunk…as I said, not saying he is innocent, but 1 against 1, with no evidence, I am not sure I would jump on his back so fast.

          • 💋 October 31, 2017 at 12:33 pm

Weinstein denies the crimes? It’s only the alledged ‘crimes’ that matter. However overwhelming the accusations may be, until a jury find him guilty he is innocent.

In an episode of Family Guy, 10 years ago, a joke was made about Spacey keeping a boy chained up in his basement. Hollywood knew he was / is a predatory homosexual. This guy is just no1 in what will almost certainly be a long line of accusers.

Spacey shouldn’t be tried in public, either. Not least because, should they ever get to court, a fair trial is surely impossible to ensure.

            • is Gascoigne gonna have a crack? October 31, 2017 at 1:24 pm

Hollywood is riddled with it. Its ridiculous all this singling out.

  • Spurs est_1882 October 31, 2017 at 11:44 am

I am still not sold with Zaha, I think he looks good when given the role of “Of do what you want, but please make us look good”. Not sure he will have the same impact for a team like ours…I am hoping I am proved wrong if we sign him as we are in dire need of a quick forward option.

    • UnkleTaff October 31, 2017 at 12:22 pm

I think Zaha is a quick forward option. Just because Palace play him on the wing doesn’t mean he couldn’t be equally effective playing through the middle, for example.

Zaha and Barkley (if we can get them) would be wonderful acquisitions in January.

  • mattspurs October 31, 2017 at 11:43 am

Harry is taking part in today’s training session – live on FB

    • caveman October 31, 2017 at 12:05 pm

      whats fb

      • Harry Hotspur October 31, 2017 at 12:12 pm

        It’s a fisting platform

      • 💋 October 31, 2017 at 1:14 pm

Face Book. Jeez, keep up, granddad.

  • Mad Carew October 31, 2017 at 11:39 am

We could always tap up that Man City kid Foden, doubt he’ll get a first team place in a City team for at least 3 seasons.

    • UnkleTaff October 31, 2017 at 11:46 am

Foden will almost certainly start against Leicester in City’s next League Cup game.

      • Mad Carew October 31, 2017 at 11:52 am

Hardly Premier League, City will buy in replacements rather than promote from within, have they any academy youngsters in the first team ?

        • Mad Carew October 31, 2017 at 11:58 am

Iheanacho, Trippier had to find Spurs to make the big time.

  • gloster1861 October 31, 2017 at 11:31 am

Those injury dates given only appear to amount to about 18 weeks in total. Hardly compares badly to our own miserable track record of the lame and the halt.

Does this mean we are sending them GKN in exchange?

    • mattspurs October 31, 2017 at 11:39 am

That’s not a bad shout – was wondering who we could fob them off with – what about Sissoko?

      • AccringtonSpurs October 31, 2017 at 11:45 am

Poch is less and less playing the possession game of recent and really mixed up his tactics. Sissoko’s improved a lot since our tactics have changed – being utilised for his pace more. Maybe not worth £30m still (in the climate in which we bought him), but not been as useless as I’ve been giving him shit for on here.

        • mattspurs October 31, 2017 at 11:46 am

He was awful against United – game just passed him by

        • Spiderneil October 31, 2017 at 12:04 pm

          Sissoko’s pace???

  • Mad Carew October 31, 2017 at 11:31 am

Didn’t we have an Ivory Coast player recently ?

  • Mad Carew October 31, 2017 at 11:29 am

Would be a crazy move for Palace, with relegation on the horizon, this deal could not be done before the Summer, Football Suicide.

    • gloster1861 October 31, 2017 at 11:33 am

The Palace fans will finally string up Parish if this goes through.

      • Mad Carew October 31, 2017 at 11:35 am

They would oust him, Zaha is the driving force in the team, doubt Woy would be happy either.

  • UnkleTaff October 31, 2017 at 11:27 am

Good. I hope this one comes off as Zaha’s a very good player.

    • Aussie in Switzerland October 31, 2017 at 11:28 am

      Better than Sissoko

      • gloster1861 October 31, 2017 at 11:35 am

If you use him as a yardstick, we’d be welcome back Jake Livermore, let alone Huddlestone and Mason.

        • mattspurs October 31, 2017 at 11:40 am

Huddlestone on the wing – still better than Sissoko
