Whilst you can’t make people do what they don’t want to, you can do your best to influence proceedings. in football your tools to achieve this are pretty blunt.

Despite Poch’s nonsense about the treatment of a player on a human level (or whatever he was farting on about) all players want is money and honours. No, no, no. Don’t bother trying to crowbar anything else onto that list. If you try to all you’ll be doing is inventing, inflicting your harebrained imagination upon us all.

Spurs had absolutely everything in place with Fulham last season and still managed to fluff their lines when it came to getting a deal for the boy over the line. Penny Wise Pend Foolish for the bazilyionth time.

Now, Fulham have regained complete control of the situation. Whites boss Tony Khan said:

‘As it’s been the subject of a great deal of speculation, I’d like to announce that Ryan Sessegnon is staying with Fulham football club and will not be departing during this January transfer window.

‘Ryan is a very important part of the Fulham family, and we’re grateful that he’ll be with us as we fight to achieve promotion this season.’

This is precisely the sort of player we should have had on the books this season.

My wife told me not to bother getting the flu shot this year, but she highly recommended that i simply just get myself shot instead. I have a new job as a target in a gun range. I don’t expect that i will get through the trial period.

Levy said no key players will be sold this summer so world cup year means the top players will get knew contract more money because there value will rise during the world cup. Levy said what he always says if poch sees a player that he feels can improve the team he’ll do he’s best to bring him in but January is a difficult month to buy players hahaha so there you have it.

  • Watchme January 11, 2018 at 6:18 pm

Bullshit,it’s definitely maybe mightbe could be should be sought of nearly kindoff done not quite yet but could be at sometime,or not,we will see. Depends on levy being successful with his PPI claim.

  • Enorme Nuez January 11, 2018 at 5:08 pm

It still doesn’t mean that Sessegnon won’t sign for another team. It means that the buying club will loan him back to Foolham for the rest of the season.

After we failed to land Sessegnon last summer, I had no real expectations of succeeding. Once Spurs soil their beds over player negotiations, the follow up never seems to have a chance of working. Things just get tetchy.

Here is a little known fact.
The head of the coaching academy is the same guy who was once head of the Southampton Academy which brought through the likes of Walcott, Bale etc.
They will have an expectation to develop top quality talent and will have a best practice marketing strategy worked out for these perfectly cut gems. Don’t expect local market or car boot style opportunities, Fulham will not be the soft touch MKDons were. Levy has no cards here so his hard stare and shiny head wont be completing a blinding deal any time soon, he either puts up or shuts up.
    Don’t get your hopes up.

I do understand Fulham were looking buying a LB., Matt Targett from Southampton. Though this was being suggested as more of a move to allow Sessegnon to play further upfield more often, rather than a move to replace him on their books.

  • Freund or Foe January 11, 2018 at 11:00 am

Just for one second chaps, ignore being desperate Tottenham fans, and imagine yourself as the Fulham chairman.
You have a highly courted player.
There seems to be at least 2-3 massive clubs interested in him.
    His performances are constantly improving.
You have a better chance of promotion with him in your side.

    Do you:
    a) sell him as quickly as possible (including selling him and loaning him back)

    b) hold out for the best possible price and benefit from his time playing for you, whether that be this summer, or at any point in the future

I know it’s a tricky one, so no time limits.

  • VincentianMagic January 11, 2018 at 10:46 am

Both Sessegnon and Dembele could and should have been snapped up a year to 18 months ago but somehow we fluffed our lines.

I’m guessing combined we would be looking at the fat end of £50M. How much would they have cost previously? We would have an ideal replacement for Rose and some genuine pace up top. But no.

If Sessegnon gets involved in a bidding war, Levy will not entertain it. Perhaps a Shaw and money deal for Rose will be our only option?

As for Dembele: if we can get rid of Sissy and Janssen, then I’d like us to still go for him. He would offer something different to what we have.

The list has to be: RB (as Rose is gone); CM, AM and CF.

Rose, Sissy, N’Cluedo and Janssen are expendable at this stage.

    • VincentianMagic January 11, 2018 at 10:49 am

      • Accy January 11, 2018 at 10:42 am

My clearcut would look like this:

        Janssen
        Nkoudou
        Sissoko
        Llorente (not what we need)
        Lamela (controversial)
        Rose (obvious reasons)
        Trippier (reportedly off in summer)
        Dembele (too crocked)
Onomah (not good enough for us)
CCV (not good enough for us)

              Fuck we have Eriksen!

Lamela is staying, he told me so in our last video conference with god

  • Popsy January 11, 2018 at 10:27 am

Sign him now and loan him back to the end of the season, this is where we went wrong with Moussa Dembele, we could have had him for £5m if we loaned him back to the eos, Levy refused, Celtic snapped up the deal, now he will cost us £30m plus if we want him to back up Harry Kane. Simples !

    • Harry Hotspur January 11, 2018 at 10:28 am

Another one completely ignoring the verbatim words of the Fulham owner. This is embarrassing.

  • Harry Hotspur January 11, 2018 at 10:26 am

    Mark Munro

You mentioned yesterday that Toby signed a new deal. It has not however been mentioned on the Spurs website. Did he sign a new deal?

I did mention a new deal for Toby.

I didn’t mention when it would be announced.

So you need to email THFC.

I sense this won’t be the last query like this….

      • Harry Hotspur January 11, 2018 at 10:30 am

Oh I expect something similar on the hour

        • 61SpursNut🌰 January 11, 2018 at 10:35 am

          I’ve nearly formulated my version.

          • Harry Hotspur January 11, 2018 at 10:42 am

            Fantastic news!

    • Mark Munro January 11, 2018 at 10:46 am

      Thanks

    • Mark Munro January 11, 2018 at 10:48 am

      Thanks.

Let me know how you get on.

I genuinely value reader feedback and would be interested to see how this enquiry pans out.

        • ronwol196061 January 11, 2018 at 11:35 am

I got a similar response from Ali Express

  • jod January 11, 2018 at 10:21 am

Sessegnon is doing what he thinks is best for his development as a player, not what will get him the most money. He’s in control not the clubs. In that respect he’s similar to Kane and I applaud him for it. The idea we could somehow force him to move by waving more money at him is ridiculous.

  • Camus January 11, 2018 at 10:03 am

Ever the optimist, is there a chance we’ve secured a deal for the lad to join in the summer…? This chap’s comments could be interpreted as face-saving “He’s gone in the summer.”

  • Kev January 11, 2018 at 10:00 am

Could do an Dele type buy and loan back so technically he’d still be a Fulham till the end of the season…

That said I don’t expect Levy to spend any money this window as it will affect his profit margin.

    • Harry Hotspur January 11, 2018 at 10:26 am

That quote doesn’t even vaguely hint at a loan back.

  • Sid Trotter January 11, 2018 at 9:57 am

Oh, more Levy incompetence. Nothing new there.

    • Nick January 11, 2018 at 10:19 am

Yeah levy is incompetent. He has managed to get ine of the beat coaches, build a young squad for peanuts and expanded the club faster than anyone could imagine.
Please give the man some credit. Or would u like to go back to how spurs were?
      Coys mate

      • Harry Hotspur January 11, 2018 at 10:23 am

Best coaches? What have they even come close to winning?
        Young squad? Name them?
Expand the club? You mean buy lots of land?

Dear Mr Levy Closing down was the worst thing that could have happened to the comments on here. Suddenly all this thick fuckers on the loose.

        • McG ⚽️⚽️ January 11, 2018 at 1:42 pm

The best coaches are Greyhounds, evreyone knows that.

      • Jim,Newry Spur. January 11, 2018 at 12:33 pm

Why didn’t he all that years ago?
