There’s a nasty rumour going round that Danny Rose’s biggest beef with Kyle Walker’s departure is that by default it’s suddenly left him as the stupidest footballer at Spurs.

“This is getting silly now. The manager said it was best I came off and I didn’t want to come off. That was it. I’ve seen already that people are saying we exchanged words. There is no issue between me and the manager, there has never been an issue. And people trying to put stuff in the media is not welcomed.”

It was you Danny. It was you that went to the press. Not once but this is what maybe the third or fourth time? It was you that decided to suckle from the nipple of the p*ssed up jackal.

And now the milk tastes sour? And now things are not quite how you might like them?

Rose OBVIOUSLY thinks that he’s bigger than Tottenham Hotspur VIP Hospitality (inc the odd soccer ball match) PLC and is trying/failing to mismanage his exit so he doesn’t look like a dog muck in human form.

The sooner Spurs green light an agreeable payment plan from Manchester United  the better.

I’m going to do some more Christmas cards now while enjoying my second favourite piece of classical music (after the Rite of Spring), currently playing on Radio 3, Stravinsky’s gravely beautiful neo classical ballet: Apollon Musagete.Bye for now and hopefully will be seeing some of you tomorrow. Hope to get home a bit earlier this time after my last two fiascos; DD was asleep when we finally arrived back in Birmingham and we reckon that if I hadn’t awoken him he’d have eventually materialised in Blackpool!

Talking about tomorrow reminds me that my first ever visit to the Lane was on Saturday, 2nd November, 1968 (day after my 14th birthday). Having seen them lose four times out of four in the West Midlands (I did actually see them beat Birmingham in Feb 1964 but I wasn’t really a football fan then), I was hoping for something better on this half term visit. Well, we didn’t lose but, nevertheless, it wasn’t great: 1-1 with Stoke! The team from the Potteries went on to finish 19th; we finished 6th.

    • Sexy Beast December 8, 2017 at 2:22 pm

Slightly more interesting from football london – The difference between Arsenal & Spurs earnings in Europe:

    http://www.football.london/arsenal-fc/news/arsenal-spurs-european-money-earned-14011339

If Arsenal win Europa they pocket €15m – compared to €66m just for getting knocked out of the last 16 last time they were in it.

Spurs have earned €27m just for reaching the group stages of the CL

    • Sexy Beast December 8, 2017 at 2:20 pm

Wenger has clearly gone all in so to speak with the contact situation Ozil and Sanchez have in the hope of getting back in the top four, if it backfires it will be a monumental financial hit they will take and the owner might just look to move on to a new manager. If they do miss out not only will loose their two best players but will have very little chance of replacing them with the same quality, this is one massive season for them in more then one way, miss out and they will fall further behind the pack.

Ironically, Rose has probably played a blinder here.
He’s raised his profile, all the media jackals want to quote him on anything and that has laid the foundations for his (likely) punditry career once he hangs up his boots.
In the meantime, he will probably get his lucrative move to Yanited either in January or the summer with a general send-off of “Well, who can blame him? He wants trophies…”

He’ll get what he wants – money, probably a trophy soon enough, and a raised profile.

Barring an unlikely disaster, Kyle Walker is going to pick up his PL winners medal with City and you can be sure that that will only ramp up the pressure on us keeping our better players. That’s another lorry-load of cash delivered to the door of one Jamie Redcack and his ‘exclusives’. Rose’s departure to Yanited would be another win for the Sky 4 money merry-go-round and would likely accelerate the disintegration of our squad.

    Let’s play Spurs Bingo…

    • Ronan December 8, 2017 at 9:51 am

Rose shouldn’t be allowed to go to Man U unless we’ve already signed Sessegnon. Letting rivals we finished above have players we can’t upgrade = a recipe for perpetual Thursday night football.

      • Accy December 8, 2017 at 10:28 am

I’d ultimately like to see both Rose and Davies sold. Bring in either Sessegnon and Shaw, or Sessegnon and Porto’s Alex Telles (1 goal, 7 assists this season).

        Both would be an upgrade.

Also, sell Aurier in the summer and bring in Porto’s Ricardo Pereira – whom we were looking at before we bought Aurier.

Basically, do a double swoop on Porto.

        • Ronan December 8, 2017 at 10:49 am

Paragraph 50 of the text states: “The United Kingdom will ensure that no new regulatory barriers develop between Northern Ireland and the rest of the United Kingdom, unless, consistent with the 1998 Agreement, the Northern Ireland Executive and Assembly agree that distinct arrangements are appropriate for Northern Ireland.”

Paragraph 50 also includes the statement: “In all circumstances, the United Kingdom will continue to ensure the same unfettered access to Northern Ireland’s businesses to the whole of the United Kingdom internal market.”

It is understood this section was added at the request of the DUP.

Paragraph 48 reads: “The United Kingdom remains committed to protecting and supporting continued North-South and East-West cooperation across the full range of political, economic, security, societal and agricultural contexts and frameworks of cooperation, including the continued operation of the North-South implementation bodies.”

Well, folks, the NFL just signed away any opportunity at future expansion. They chose to extend Roger Goodell’s contract for another 5 years, who has presided over watering the game down in to nothing but a fat, meaningless collection of hampering regulation. He has repeatedly questioned law enforcement, overruled and disrespected the judicial system, fully embraced the image over substance aspect of commercialism, alienated the very players who drive the league, embraced arbitrary fines and suspensions from a single entity, and encouraged social politics within the framework of the league.

We will soon see sports media explanation of lack of attendance turn to excuses like weather or the state of American finances forcing fans to choose to stay at home, closely followed by a mandate to keep cameras focus off of the stands and on the field of play.

When people say they are done with the NFL, this time, they mean it. The game is just not the same anymore. It is truly not any big loss. It is no longer difficult to stay away. We are seeing more and more teams changing cities, ending rivalries, ending relationships.

My team for years was the Kansas City Chiefs. However, with the pure focus on image and the attack on real substance over the last several years that Goodell has cultured, I can share beyond the shadow of any doubt that even if the Chiefs were to one day make a Super Bowl, to me it will still be only a Subpar Bowl. I just no longer care, and millions out there feel the same way.

I believe at this point that Tottenham has spent a lot of time and money to share a bed with a poor partner. That is tremendously unfortunate.

If it’s going to cost us £50bn to leave the EU, we will break even in 2.7 years.

Savings £350m/wk = £18.2bn/year. So in 3-4 years time, we can start using that £18bn for interest repayments.

Portillo was on ‘The Week’ the other day saying currently we are borrowing something like 2% of GDP/year whereas before austerity began 7 years ago it was 8%. So all these cuts over the years have saved us 6% above GDP of expenditure.

Current national debt stands at 85% OF GDP = something like £1.6 trillion at a cost of £48 bn/year to service. The message Portillo was extolling, was “we have to start living within our means.”

So it basically costs us £48 bn in interest & repayments every year.

And the LEAVE campaign, regardless of sovereignty was strongly run on the “an extra £350m/week for the NHS” message.

    • East Stand December 7, 2017 at 11:49 pm

Of course he’s right, the deficit needs to be reduced Acc but we are also looking at a moral argument here.

For all the ‘living with our means’, why should people that are struggling to make ends meet and working hard keep facing more and more cuts?

The Tories have a track record of cutting the state regardless of trying to reduce national debt. Is it also a convenient excuse to carry out what had always been Tory policy anyway?

Besides, the size of the debt was down to irresponsible and overtly greedy practices by the banks.

Morally you have to balance deficit reduction and austerity as evenly and fairly as possible.

I don’t advocate Corbyn style ‘quantative easing’ etc but at the same time public services should not be cut any further. It’s too unfair.

Tax cuts historically create more wealth all the way down, the super wealthy will always be super wealthy Fanny. The tax breaks for the corporations are bringing back factories and jobs which were driven abroad to SE Asia decimating the working/middle classes of Ameriaca, What was the point of hiking up tax for the big corps? All it did was drive them into the arms of the Chinese who offered them tax breaks so they upped sticks and took the factories there and got cheap labour, Trump has already brought back thousands of jobs by enticing them back with tax breaks, while the democrats scream that the rich are getting richer, the rich will always get richer!
The corporations employ millions and pay sod all in tax, we all agree they should pay more but it ain’t Trumps fault, but he is working to bring jobs for his people and they love him for it and he will go down as the best President arguably ever you will see.
      If they don’t kill him.

His proposal would cut taxes at all income levels, although the largest benefits, in dollar and percentage terms, would go to the highest-income households.

Therefore the richest pay the least tax relatively speaking. I’m sure the out of work Midwest industry workers that voted him in will be thrilled at that…

                • Sexy Beast December 8, 2017 at 12:04 am

Putting up taxes takes money out of the pockets of everyone, the richest 1% avoid tax on an industrial scale and always will as long as there are tax havens.

Howard did the same in Australia, The middle class had never been richer, the left wing debt was paid off, and billions saved into sovereign funds, unemployment at record lows…..Trump is trying to do the same thing,!and it all starts with tax cuts

This round of ‘tax cuts’ stops lower to middle income earners in vital public sectors from claiming various expenditures against tax, lessening the ‘burden’ on higher earners. These people aren’t the liberal elite, they’re just normal people trying to make a living.

dragon1: yaks talking nonsense im sorry
the main sticking point is he wants another release clause, we are not far apart on wages, but he has 2.5 years left and we will be handing a load of new deals out once in the new gaffe, no player has ever left spurs over wages under levy and im no fan of his, the contract will probably be sorted out next summer or early next season

BEN: the release clause is the issue he and his team adamant on it and its 22 million no way we will agree to it and be held to ransom

Can someone explain why the Brexit talks over the Irish boarder issue is reaching a so called “critical’ stage (according to the BBC)?

What’s so bloody critical about it? Why is it complicated? Switzerland has hardly any enforced boarder to speak of and any boarder issues will all be part of any deal.

How can they even be talking about this issue right now?

My theory is that the whole thing is a charade so the EU and British government can drip feed the idea to the public that it’s all too complicated and we may as well stay in. It’s all bullshit…

    • Sexy Beast December 7, 2017 at 10:15 pm

It’s Critical because Brussels insist we cannot move onto Trade talks until this issue is sorted at least enough to please the Gay Teashop Leo Varadkar. The EU have always had the upper hand in Brexit talks and they will humiliate the U.K. Govt at every juncture. Trade talks do not mean trade deals, again The UK will pay through the nose.

    Lies damned lies

“What we have seen since Mike Flynn’s guilty plea last Friday is now the administration is trying to argue the law rather argue the facts. To me, that is very revealing of what is happening behind the screens.”
Most legal scholars concede that the law is inconclusive on whether a sitting president can be indicted on a criminal charge. But the idea that a President cannot face obstruction of justice charges in an impeachment proceeding run by Congress defies precedent.
Dowd’s (Trumps Legal Eagle) defenders also point out that in Trump, he hardly has the ideal client, given the President’s propensity to stoke political firestorms in a way that could undermine the work of even the most diligent legal team.
Late Monday night, another White House lawyer, Ty Cobb, sought to clean up the apparent disarray inside Trump’s legal braintrust, downplaying the idea that questioning whether the president could obstruct justice would be at the center of the team’s strategy.
“It’s interesting as a technical legal issue, but the president’s lawyers intend to present a fact-based defense, not a mere legal defense,” Cobb told The Washington Post. “That should resolve things, but we all shall see.”

Being a “liberal” by the original definition has been twisted by authoritarian leftists, as a conservative was more akin to being a liberal once upon a time……A bit like how being a true conservative was twisted by the religious right. Oh, and any form of communism is a very poor choice over any form of democracy…..

The point is that extremists on any side believe they are mainstream
I am 100% for democracy as imperfect as it is. And unless a reasonable amount of common sense is applied as each situation is a little unique and the absolute thinking is thrown into the garbage…there can be no rational solutions.

  • Freund or Foe December 7, 2017 at 4:24 pm

I’ve always tried not to think about what wing I am, I’m more of a breast and thigh man. But the wonderful interweb can now tell you where you stand…

    https://www.politicalcompass.org/test/

    And here are my results…

    Your Political Compass
    Economic Left/Right: -2.63
    Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.21

It appears that I’m not as Left as Ghandi or Stalin, but a tad more Libertarian than Friedman. A trainee anarchistic communist, if you will. And it seems that only 20 or so questions can reveal this.
I can’t wait to get home and tell the missus.

Holy mackerel. You’d win a leadership election for the Green Party with those results alone.

        • Harry Hotspur December 7, 2017 at 5:07 pm

I must stress I did take my time and answered the questions accurately.

It’s about the swagger 👍🏻 few people realise how left Trump is…

          • East Stand December 7, 2017 at 7:48 pm

I’m not one of the few, whatever Trump is politicaly he’s an Uber capitalist. That places him on the right.

Any other assumption is a denial of the basic facts…

        Don’t advocate communism, mind.

    • Aussie in Switzerland December 7, 2017 at 4:46 pm

Being a “liberal” by the original definition has been twisted by authoritarian leftists, as a conservative was more akin to being a liberal once upon a time……A bit like how being a true conservative was twisted by the religious right. Oh, and any form of communism is a very poor choice over any form of democracy…..

A Rose at any other club is still thick as shit.

    • 61SpursNut🌰 December 7, 2017 at 4:20 pm

Manure, Arse, Pooh or Shiteh will suit him perfectly.

    • Freund or Foe December 7, 2017 at 4:29 pm

It must be said that Rose was pretty damn awful last night too. I’ve passed kidney stones more easily than his efforts to find a team mate.
He deserved to come off, nosebleed or not.

  • Freund or Foe December 7, 2017 at 4:06 pm

He’s an arrogant little twat. Yes he is.

  • caveman December 7, 2017 at 4:01 pm

Couldn’t agree with that article more. The look in his at Poch last night when he was taken off said it all. Alli looks with contempt at people and his manager. Get bothe out the door when it suits Spurs, the fans will be okay with that.

    • Aussie in Switzerland December 7, 2017 at 4:05 pm

I always got the shits if I was substituted…..including the time I turned up direct to the game from tripping balls on acid all night…..means you want to play right? Even if you missed a ball 30m away and thought it was coming for your chest, and your good for nothing mates shouting to you and the coach that the ball had snakes coming out of it…..bastards
