We’re what, 9 games in and the gaffer says we’re fatigued.

The truth is that this squad has been stretched to it’s outer limit physically for some time, but it’s only now that Poch has been forced into acknowledging it.

“Bournemouth pushed us a lot and we felt not fresh from the beginning of the game.

Our start was a bit sloppy and you can feel the team wasn’t fresh.

After 15 minutes we started to manage the game and it was under control.

In the second half we were much better than Bournemouth and in the end you must score if you want to win the game.

I am very pleased after playing Champions League in Leverkusen and before at West Brom, two very tough games, and to play a third game here, I am very pleased with the effort.”

This is a departure from the ‘no no no… the problem is mental, not physical’ line we were fed a week ago.

Leading up to the Bournemouth game we were hit with the bombshell that Mauricio was wondering if the the squad was big enough.

9 games in and ‘youngest squad in the Western World’ and the talk of a ‘philosophy’ is out the window. In fact, we’re a bit tired.

Wait until the cramp zombies start reaching out from beneath the Wembley turf.
