Can Poch Manage Change?

By The Boy -

100 years ago when I used to collect our football programmes I recall picking up at least two cup games ones against Gillingham. With my limited means, ones like these were very attractive being available around the 20p/25p mark.

Let’s hope that tonight’s game is more fascinating than that anecdote.

Gillingham indoors is being approached by most fans as an unimportant game. In the scheme of things it is unimportant.

However I take a view that this game IS important.

This is where Pochettino proves to us that he can cope with, and manage change. Something I don’t believe he can do.

Our Premier League games are the priority at this stage and tonight really out to be about flooding our starting XI with the kids.

We don’t have one single outfield player who wouldn’t benefit from a rest.

The plan to play ‘da kidz’ might also achieve one of two other points.

It’ll either act as proof that Poch’s confidence is well placed in the next generation, alternatively it may encourage a few in our support to reign in some of the unchecked enthusiasm for the Haircuts.

This is a game to draw a line under the insanity of Mauricio’s determination to run the squad into the ground.

Look at Kane, look at the players cramping up after the last game and give in to reason, please…
