Bonzo Blasted By Steward

Bonzo Blasted By Steward

Just in from Gladys.

Our gal was/is still at The Lane and boy Bonzo has apparently been wandering around looking for sympathy. As typical with imbeciles, he was searching for it in the faces of strangers.

An unnamed THFC steward replied to Kyle Walker’s ‘plea’ with a curt, ‘If you ain’t happy with it then fuck off’.

Needless to say this was greeted with one of The Many Faces Of Kyle Walker.

I didn’t realise yesterday that they came out in alphabetical order. 🙂

    • Camus May 15, 2017 at 8:38 am

Thanks mate, I was wondering if anyone had a list of the legends. Some heroes of my childhood there. Really glad Waddle was there.

    • SpurAndy May 15, 2017 at 8:39 am

Yep noticed that, I think it was done to avoid anyone getting miffed about not being top billing like they do in the movies.

  • Gloster1861 May 15, 2017 at 7:28 am

Missing Steve Perryman, Alan Mullery, Maurice Norman. Two captains there. Venables would have been nice too, a character. Martin Peters?

    • DAVID May 15, 2017 at 7:31 am

Someone down the page said Perryman team, Exeter, had a match yesterday.

      • Gloster1861 May 15, 2017 at 7:33 am

        Yes, that’s right.

    • SpurAndy May 15, 2017 at 7:34 am

      Gilzean?

      • Gloster1861 May 15, 2017 at 7:42 am

He was there. They announced him as a past king of the Lane.

      • Gloster1861 May 15, 2017 at 7:44 am

Gilzean is a particular favourite because he turned down United and chose Spurs. He preferred our footballing style, he said. Legend.

        • SpurAndy May 15, 2017 at 7:46 am

Yes the two G men were special together. Didn’t see him get to come on the pitch though.

    • Harry Hotspur May 15, 2017 at 8:05 am

There were plenty of people missing.

  • 61SpursNut🌰 May 15, 2017 at 7:05 am

Morning … after the night before! What an event that was. I had a couple of slow, emotional laps of the stadium before the game to fully absorb the old and the new together while they were still shoulder to shoulder. The atmosphere in the ground was unbelievably intense and it felt like the energy generated could power the new stadium for ten years. Almost non-stop wall to wall singing for the whole of the first half and still magnificent in the second. The early goals in each half did no harm to the efforts. Standing, yes, standing at the top of the south east corner of the South Stand with a sound board behind me and to the right made that area loud, and when I say LOUD I mean >LOUD with a capital F. The flag waving thing was a master stroke for the theatre of the occasion and I got a spare one to boot along with a free tee shirt. The player parade at the end was superb in the driving rain (exaggeration intended for effect 🙂 ). A few notable exclusions, but that was to be expected. Oh, how we would have love to have seen [insert missing legends here]. This is one happy TrekSpur today. The whole Spurs contingent stayed until at least an hour and a half after the game and even a few smelly mancs (if you don’t mind me saying) hung around too. More than a few seats were liberated from their moorings at the end but I’m sure they go to good homes despite their less than mint condition. The new jumbotron was a lovely crisp, clear thing and we’re getting one of those at each corner in the new stadium. I had the two East Stand supports beautifully positioned near the middle of the screen as a fine reminder of what we won’t have to deal with a year and a bit from now.

I can’t possibly do justice to the emotion of the event yesterday but had to add my tuppence worth. I feel honoured to have been able to go and add my voice and wish some of good mates from here could have joined me.

    I love you all.

COYFS, let’s get this perceived Wembley albatross off our backs and win the league next season.

  • Wombat Hunter May 15, 2017 at 3:10 am

Very happy we came 2nd in a 2 horse race. I couldn’t handle another year of mindless morons telling us we came 3rd.

  • Willie! May 15, 2017 at 2:55 am

Sad to see Bonzo go, he’s the best RB in the league. He’s turning 27 in a couple weeks, so likely about 3 seasons left in his prime, and as a footballer you’ve got a very small window to make enough money to last a lifetime, so I get it and can’t really fault him. It’s tribal for us, it’s a career for him. I

Since he doesn’t seem the type to go on to another profession after his playing days, not being particularly articulate or seemingly all that bright, I can understand the need to grab the money while he can. We’re going to regret not paying the kid what he’s worth, because Trips isn’t half the defender and we’re gonna get worked down our right next season. Will be pretty angry if they sell him to City or any PL club, hope he goes to Spain.

    • OfftheShelf May 15, 2017 at 7:31 am

Agreed, Martial walked the ball round Trippier to cross the ball for their goal. Bad game on his part.

    • Camus May 15, 2017 at 7:55 am

A good post, Willie. I too fear we might get rinsed a bit down the right flank next season. Like you, I hope we don’t sell to a PL club.

    • SpurAndy May 15, 2017 at 8:27 am

Other than people like Kane who are proper fans of the club they play for everybody else are just employees. They’re no different to us in that if a better offer is available elsewhere then they have to consider and take it up if that’s there wish. I don’t hold any grudges if it’s done above board and in a professional manner. I do think Walker is the better defender, even with his lapses, so losing him will be a loss imo. Hopefully KWP can step up but early days atm.

  • EDSpurs May 15, 2017 at 2:42 am

  • Real Fan? May 15, 2017 at 2:00 am

    Gloster1861
Thanks. I missed the guy, glad he isn’t ill.
If Walker goes we currently have the option of Dier who did play there when he arrived if you recall, or Walker-Peters, 20. If KWP can’t cover at 20, he aint that much kop.

Dier covered at RB in a Back 4, not RWB playing a Back 3. He couldn’t play that position, ever..

    • Gloster1861 May 15, 2017 at 7:30 am

Well, it would have to be a back four in those circumstances.

Perfect result. Perfect day. Despite the lack of trophies a great season to see off the lane. That rainbow. I think yaughtsman and a few other old regulars did that. God bless everyone on here. Here’s hoping our dreams for the club soon come true.

I remember yachtsman… Had some interesting stories to tell. I would imagine him to be quite pleased with the season, and as always, in hopes of some silverware the next. Fair winds and full sails.

    • caveman May 15, 2017 at 1:23 am

Yes yachtsman was a gentleman and I had a first cousin, Tony Doherty who passed away in Liverpool on 11th April who was an avid Spurs fan RIP. He was beyond the rainbow today.

  • Hartley™ May 15, 2017 at 12:43 am

It was stated on many occasions by an individual on this blog that we would not get top four, no chance, not good enough, ar5eana1 marvels would win it followed by the bindippers, Yanited and chavski and Citeh and Everton and Southampton and then maybe us. With two games to spare we have secured second and without a Micky mouse ropey league we’d have pissed the domestic treble.
I’m not one to name names so I think it’s only fair that Dildo D is given every chance to redeem himself from here on in, perhaps starting with getting rid of the tampon avatar.

  • EDSpurs May 14, 2017 at 11:57 pm

I remember being in a small shop near WHL in the early 80’s and me and my Dad were queuing to buy a pie and a packet of pickled onion transformers. There was an old boy in front of us at the till and he was struggling to find the change to get his shopping. After a few minutes of waiting Dad asked if he could help out by giving the chap 20p. When the old boy turned around I knew Dad it was like Dad had seen a ghost. All Dad said was ‘that is you, isn’t it, sorry.’ To which this Irish accent said ‘thanks son. Don’t get old, it’s no fun.’ As the old boy walked slowly away Dad said ‘ that was Danny fucking Blanchflower. I remember it more cos Dad swore but I still remember it, thankfully

            • melcyid May 15, 2017 at 12:29 am

82 actually. And yes, he looked like he was ready to play for 90 minutes, whilst Garth Crooks looked like he couldn’t play for 9!

      • East Stand May 15, 2017 at 12:11 am

Poch did say “we’ll see if the stories are true” regarding Walker. Perhaps that means he’s confident it will get sorted?

Re the question of where Stevie Perryman was today; he is Director of Football at Exeter City who kicked off a play-off first leg just after our match ended today.

I thought the manure goal showed why, in some respects, Trips is no Walker, and I thought that Walker showed, within 5 or 10 minutes of coming on, why he should be kept on. Incidentally, if Walker goes, who is Trips’ cover?

    • Gloster1861 May 14, 2017 at 10:55 pm

Of course he’s a Spurs fans. He’s the leader of the yid army.

He can help himself can’t he?

        Co-eternal, so that’s a yes I’m thinking.

  • TheCincinnatiYid May 14, 2017 at 9:13 pm

Happy days. The long night of THFC is over. Trophetys will rain down from heaven:

God made this covenant, with the rainbow as the token, after the waters of the flood receded and Noah and his family exited the ark. God said, “I establish my covenant with you: Never again will all life be destroyed by the waters of a flood; never again will there be a flood to destroy the earth. . . . This is the sign of the covenant I am making between me and you and every living creature with you, a covenant for all generations to come: I have set my rainbow in the clouds, and it will be the sign of the covenant between me and the earth. Whenever I bring clouds over the earth and the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will remember my covenant between me and you and all living creatures of every kind. Never again will the waters become a flood to destroy all life. Whenever the rainbow appears in the clouds, I will see it and remember the everlasting covenant between God and all living creatures of every kind on the earth” (Genesis 9:11–15).

She seems to have an invisible touch yeah
She reaches in, grabs right hold of your heart
She seems to have an invisible touch yeah
It takes control and slowly tears you apart.

My advice on transfer speculation, stay away from sites like NewnowTottenham, or you will end up worse for wear. Rely instead on Gladys.

    • Caspurs♿️ May 14, 2017 at 9:14 pm

      Rely on Gladys?!
I’m not interested in Harry’s sloppy seconds.

  • Tenner May 14, 2017 at 9:07 pm

    Where was Lamela?

  • Tenner May 14, 2017 at 9:06 pm

Is it safe to assume that Lamela won’t be back? How is Winks there but not him? I think I’ve had just about enough of him to be perfectly honest.

  • Sexy Beast May 14, 2017 at 9:06 pm

This time next week all we will have to look forward to is eleven weeks of effing transfer dissapointments
    🙁

Thank you! She indoors and I were hoofing it down to the Square for Mothers Day lunch and celebrating Spurs win, so missed it.

  • TheCincinnatiYid May 14, 2017 at 9:01 pm

Porky apparently has finally given up on Walker’s inability to pass. Had to happen. George Kevin got minutes. He will be back next year.

  • Spursy May 14, 2017 at 9:01 pm

Loved that match and that rainbow-filled send-off. Poch is the main man.

  • MiT May 14, 2017 at 8:58 pm

You know, had Walker started that match, it would have been 2-0. That is all.

    • SpurAndy May 14, 2017 at 9:01 pm

Bit concerned by Trips defensive qualities. Thought Martial had him on toast a couple of times. Great going forward though.

      • DAVID May 14, 2017 at 9:03 pm

        Me too.

        • Spurstacus 💋 May 14, 2017 at 9:20 pm

Martial hed you on toast or you’re great going forward?

          • DAVID May 14, 2017 at 9:21 pm

            I’m stuck in reverse.

      • AccringtonSpurs May 14, 2017 at 9:21 pm

        ditto

    • DC Hotspur May 15, 2017 at 3:38 pm

Exactly…say what you want about Walker (fairly or not), but the same move that Martial skinned Trippier, was dispatched with nearly a yawn and eye roll by Walker. He is so superior defensively to make the comparison laughable. And, one thing that doesn’t get enough notice is that when Walker is in the game, they don’t try to go down that side and have their wingers and full backs hedging back so as to not get turned over by Walker sprinting into the offensive zone.

I missed the last blog, will read it later. On way home, that was great…..any one know where Gazza and Linkeker were hiding?

    • Jim,Newry Spur. May 14, 2017 at 9:10 pm

Lineker probably fulfilling his Match of the Day 2 duties,he did send a nice tweet. Gazza was probably too fragile to attend, but said he loved his time at Spurs, and almost wished he didn’t as it hurts to think about lost times.

      • Caspurs♿️ May 14, 2017 at 9:11 pm

        He doesn’t do MoTD2.

Lahdedah – I haven’t heard from you in a while. Has Canada thawed out yet?

Been dealing with a few life “challenges” Stevo. We had lots of snow a few weeks ago and spring is very late arriving in this part of the Great White North. Golf course opened last weekend but it’s done nowt but rain since.

    • Stevo1987 May 14, 2017 at 9:04 pm

I’m sorry to hear that. I hope it works out ok. Still love Canada. Our little Canuck was 22 a few weeks ago.

  • DAVID May 14, 2017 at 8:46 pm

If we sell him, we should stipulate he goes abroad, no point strengthening a competitor.
That said, sounding like ManC are his likely destination.

    • Caspurs♿️ May 14, 2017 at 8:50 pm

      “no point strengthening a competitor.”
Sell him to the arse then.
