Blame Lies Squarely With Poch

By The Boy -

The gaffer said:

“I think we need to assess some players. Harry Kane got a knock on his knee, different players too.”

“We need to refresh the team and we’ll do that. Tottenham will play in Fulham on Sunday. It’s not the name of the players, it’s the club.

“We’ll see, but we’ll put out a team with aims to win and be ready again to compete.”

The jury is in and the verdict is unanimous.Whether he kidded himself or was trying to kid everyone else, the squad isn’t good enough to do anything other than potter around ‘being in contention’ for a top 5 finish.

Transfers are not made by committee at THFC as Levy always has the final say. Poch is reaping the rewards of an incomplete squad.

Worse yet, tactically the man is clearly confusing the players. There is no consistency and no continuity. We appear to start each game looking mentally scrambled.

Nothing in football is inexplicable.

We’ve gone from 2nd to 3rd in under a week whilst the teams in 4th, 5th and 6th are all poised to overtake us.

The Wembley fiasco is going to get worse. A dull child could predict that. We now face the unenviable prospect of Gent actually fielding their first choice XI of the second leg.

Panic buys (Son, Sissoko, No’Cluedo et al) have added nothing to the squad.

No. We’re not on the brink of disaster, far from it.

However you only have to look at the current carnage at Arsenal to see that fans fed on a diet of ‘financial stability’ eventually revolt.

Will 61,100 troop tirelessly in and out like good little Client Reference Numbers 3 or 4 times a month to watch team that keep threatening to deliver a trophy?

I don’t believe so for a moment.

Pochettino has made his bed here and if he’s incapable of influencing Levy sufficiently, then it will only be a matter of time before we catch up with Arsenal.

Wenger is a superb manager who is now effectively being hounded by his support for precisely what is beginning to trouble Spurs fans.

Except Poch hasn’t ever even come close to winning anything.

The only thing Poch & Aunty Wenger have in common is that they have both compromised themselves out of existence.

Arsenal fans know that with better players, they could theoretically be back on top.

THFC feed us the line that a philosophy that is building something. All very admirable, but it’s 2017 and this is a money game.

Some of you dummies still berate Chelsea and Manchester United for spending, and are comfortable with us not spending as if it gives us some magical moral high ground.

Anyone who genuinely thinks like this is a hermaphrodite.

Sure, there;s no problem at Spurs. We’re not about to get relegated and we’re better than were 20 years ago. If that’s what get’s your pulse racing, you may need to speak to an undertaker.

“We’ll put out a team with aims to win and be ready again to compete.”

No mate. Won’t. We won’t. We will continue to tread auditor pleasing water.
