Well it only takes a twist of course if you are one of those that believed a £15million bid had been placed – or –  one of those that thought it was a foregone conclusion.

The Official twitter feed of BBC WM Sport – who proudly proclaim to broadcast key interviews, regular match action updates from the West Midlands –  side with my previous blog.

No bid made at this stage.

Which concurs with Gladys who believes that contact has merely taken place between the two sides.

Aston Villa Football Club are in a bit of a hole here, but they ought be allowed to at least try and retain some dignity.

Another price driven prospective purchase.

Is this ‘brave’, is it?

Does anyone know what the scouts at Tottenham have been doing for the past year?

    • Harry Hotspur June 14, 2018 at 10:41 am

I know the answer to this. My mum used to do this when I asked what was for pudding.

      Close your eyes.

      What can you see?

      • Randy Lee June 14, 2018 at 10:44 am

haha , unbelievable! should we not have targets in place already, just don’t understand how this happens every year.

        • Bruxie June 14, 2018 at 10:49 am

DL saves money by getting our scout to read internet gossip and newspapers. The scout doesn’t go anywhere to see players but relies on gossip and whomever Chelscum, Arse and L’pooh are connected with.

          DL saves money that way.

    Morning, all.
Maybe Grealish is the Dembele replacement.
Except nobody thought to tell Grealish.
And nobody particularly cleared it with Poch.
I expect this one to run for a while which is bad news because, whilst he’s not always fit, when he is fit Dembele fulfills a particular role in the team for which there is no one ready-made and capable of slotting in.

‘Hoping’ that Winks can slot straight in after an ankle op and that we won’t miss a bit seems a bit ambitious.

Any replacement coming in will need to get ‘Poch fit’ and the learn the Poch methods so you’d hope they’d be in sooner rather than later.

Why do I anticipate this not happening any time soon…

ST holders will be credited 1/19th of their ST price in order to buy ticket for Fulham @ Wembley.

    Shhh.

    Huddersfield Town v Chelsea

    Liverpool v West Ham United

    Manchester United v Leicester City

    Newcastle United v Tottenham Hotspur

Perhaps we’d be better focussing on who we actually need rather than who’s available at a decent price!

Moussa D is a fantastic player, but his time has come and his/his agent’s desire to hang on grimly to 20 minute cameos and the treatment facilities is of course understandable, but at some point reality bites. I’m sure everyone wishes him well, but part of football is that somewhere between 30 and 35 the back legs will no longer keep up with the rigours of the modern game.

Equally we need to recognise that up till now, Moussa D’s influence on the field has been huge and that there will be a hole to fill. This is where we should be looking to get a world class talent not n’running about doing n’speed tests on sub 100 IQ n’wingers.

Who should we get? Buggered if I know – but it’s not Bale and it’s not Grealish.

However, the right player even if we blew the whole war chest on just one guy, would be brave and the catalyst to seriously take the next step forward.

I have a sneaky feeling that Pooch is waiting to see if we can sign Bale, if we do then Martial would be most unlikely, but if we don’t then we hang on to Toby until we go in for Martial. Line up the dominos so to speak.
The lad De Ligt has apparently handed in a transfer request but his agent Riola (maybe he can’t stand the thought of dealing with Levy) is pushing him towards Juve and Ajax have set the price at 60m euros………….

Given that Chelski are seemingly prepared to pay £30M for Grealish (loan him back to Villa for next season) why would the Villa Board wish to sell their prize asset to Spurs for an insulting derisory £15M? Live in the real world!

    • Gloster1861 June 13, 2018 at 9:27 pm

So yet another horse in the stables? Cheatski had 38 players out on loan last season. Will it be 39 next season?

Don’t believe it Dilly. Not at 30 million. I hardly think that will aid in their rebuilding this summer.

      • dilly June 13, 2018 at 9:31 pm

Given that we are unlikely to secure the services of the Iscos and Kovacics’ of this world I would like us to make a realistic bid forJonjo Shelvey who IMO would add much needed steel and bite to the side!

He ain’t going to move us on in the league or contribute meaningfully in Europe. We need genuine, proven, players who have ‘elite player’ on the side of the tin. Not a temperamental pool reject.

They didn’t even list us overdue for a week. Very first light, Chief, sharks come cruisin’. So we formed ourselves into tight groups. Y’know, it’s… kinda like ol’ squares in a battle like, uh, you see in a calendar, like the Battle of Waterloo, and the idea was, ENIC comes to the nearest man and that man, he’d start poundin’ and hollerin’ and screamin’, and sometimes the shark’d go away… sometimes he wouldn’t go away. Sometimes that shark, he looks right into ya. Right into your eyes. Y’know the thing about a shark, he’s got… lifeless eyes, black eyes, like a doll’s eyes. When he comes at ya, doesn’t seem to be livin’… until he bites ya. And those black eyes roll over white, and then… oh, then you hear that terrible high-pitch screamin’, the ocean turns red, and spite of all the poundin’ and the hollerin’, they all come in and they… rip you to pieces.
