Here, Press Association Sport looks at some possible names in the frame to replace the Croatian.

David Moyes

The Scot has been out of work since quitting Sunderland in May but is reportedly in pole position for the Hammers job. Moyes lost 28 of his 43 games in charge of the Black Cats and has won just 47 of his last 137 matches, including his spells at Manchester United and Real Sociedad. His stock has fallen dramatically since he left Everton in 2013 but West Ham could offer him the chance to rebuild his reputation.

Carlo Ancelotti

It is staggering to think someone of Ancelotti’s pedigree is available, but he is. Bayern Munich cut ties with the Italian early in the season and, whoever gets the 58-year-old will get a man to have won three Champions Leagues and titles in Italy, France, England and Spain. The question is, would he fancy a Premier League relegation battle?

Manuel Pellegrini

Another Premier League winner, Pellegrini is the current favourite for the job. He won the title with Manchester City in 2014 but left when Pep Guardiola became available. He is currently with Hebei China Fortune but, like Ancelotti, is a seasoned winner all over the world.

Chris Coleman

Coleman has yet to decide whether to pen a new deal with the Welsh Football Association after Wales missed out on the World Cup. His stock is high after taking Wales to the semi-finals of Euro 2016 and this could be a position to appeal to him.

Sean Dyche

Burnley’s boss celebrates his fifth anniversary at Turf Moor this month and continues to enhance his reputation as one of the finest English managers around. The Clarets have won promotion, twice, under his watch, and look on course to survive in the top flight for a second straight year after a strong start. That cannot have gone unnoticed further up the pyramid and though West Ham are beneath Burnley currently, their greater potential may tempt Dyche.

As disastrous as Aurier has been, how fking awesome is Sanchez. He’s a future great.

    • Trev1978 November 6, 2017 at 2:39 pm

True. I suppose in reality in the current transfer market if you achieve a 50:50 ratio of good’uns to duds you are doing well. Only problem is it might only be a matter of time before a club like Barcelona might genuinely be sniffing around Sanchez.

  • Trev1978 November 6, 2017 at 2:25 pm

It’s a Pity Aurier’s ‘Barcelona’ story wasn’t an act of pure fiction. It would have saved us from having to suffer that half-wit liability running about in our shirt like a chicken that’s just had it’s neck pulled! Awful player. If Pochettino can make player out of that he fully deserved to be called a genius as he literally has nothing to work with. Did anyone else notice how he gave up chasing Zaha after he had gifted him the ball?? That’s not the first time either. You are nailed on for at least two brainfarts per match but he really excelled in that respect yesterday. It was like 10 vs 12 as he might as well have had a Crystal Palace shirt on!!!

Has to be the old ‘clear your cache’ sketch.

        rightho. ta boss.

  • Yiddo November 6, 2017 at 12:57 pm

Aurier saying he nearly signed for Barca and few other big European teams. Not quite Rose-esque in betrayal but hardly inspires an atmosphere of loyalty when weeks after joining he talks about the great teams he could have signed for and the one he settled for instead. I do like him but he’s starting to rile me up…

    • caveman November 6, 2017 at 1:06 pm

Barca deny the claims by Aurier!

      • Yiddo November 6, 2017 at 1:14 pm

        Aye, makes it even worse.
Aurier: Ooh, look at me, I’m a big player. Barca wanted me, I’m just too big a personality for them to handle.
Spurs: This is awkward. The reason no one wanted you is becausr you’re a petulant man child. You’re our second choice right back. The guy we signed from Burnley for two mil is the big boy.
Barca: We wanted you? Um. No.
        Aurier: Well, you’re gay.

  • mattspurs November 6, 2017 at 12:54 pm

    Please let it be Pardew

  • Yiddo November 6, 2017 at 12:48 pm

I’d never heard of this Goretzka fellow, but now I want him. Still upset we never signed Yarmolenko.

  • Yiddo November 6, 2017 at 12:44 pm

Simeone? He’s under pressure. Stranger things have happened

  • McG⚽⚽ November 6, 2017 at 12:44 pm

If Nilly bumped into Martinez, maybe he’s one of those in the frame for the Spammers job?!

  • gus November 6, 2017 at 12:33 pm

Danny got a run on Sunday but I wonder who Poch sees as the #1 left back? Danny’s delivery was poor as usual yesterday, I feel like Davies provides superior service

  • Freund or Foe November 6, 2017 at 12:26 pm

Come on Spammers, you know it makes sense.

    • Camus November 6, 2017 at 12:28 pm

Dreamy Dave would be the perfect fit for a relegation scrap.
      C’mon Gold, make it so.

      • gus November 6, 2017 at 12:32 pm

He’s starting to look like a one team pony, should have never left Everton

    • MysteriousStranger November 6, 2017 at 12:38 pm

Who know he was a stoner with a penchant for Ribena?

Ruddy Nora FoF, Halloween was last week! Is he related to the Weaslys? The long lost cousin that nobody mentions.

  • caveman November 6, 2017 at 12:14 pm

    Goretzka is a great player.

    • caveman November 6, 2017 at 12:15 pm

Just hope we can lure him to the new WHL!

      • caveman November 6, 2017 at 12:16 pm

In answer to Ron’s video of his skills.

    • ronwol196061 November 6, 2017 at 12:19 pm

Yes he would fit in like a glove. I mean I like Kovacic (he plays a bit more central) but Goretzka is more of a Debruyne type. That cant be bad for us.
      Here it is again…
