1Lloris He tried a couple of times to descend us into lunacy but his brain just wouldn’t buy it

4Alderweireld Hopefully he won’t disappear into the Physio Vaults like the others did.

Sissoko Goodness gracious me.

6Sánchez I ❤️ Sanchez and quite frankly who wouldn’t?

5Vertonghen Imperious, quite frankly. What a long way we’ve come from the little boy lost in the tunnel against Liverpool all those seasons ago…

2Trippier Farewell to the Bonzo romance

23Eriksen The player Modric could’ve been.

15Dier As previously on ER, Eric deserves a serious plaudit for not making us feel like we’d missed a beat when Tobes went off.

29Winks This was an incredibly accomplished performance by anyone’s standards. Yes yes yes Real weren’t at their very very very best but this was no less of a tough gig for a young man still plying his trade.

Moussa Disruptive as FLIP this was Poch’s absolute coup de grâce. The chaos that Belgian caused is still being assessed by the Red Cross.

33Davies Good stuff under the circumstances…

20Alli More please…

10Kane You’re hamstring isn’t right yet, is it? Try resting properly and see what happens!

Llorente Mixed bag again.

An intersting line from Pooch’s new book:
We lost 1-0 to Bayer Leverkusen at Wembley to a second half goal. The result has absoloutely nothing to do with the stadium. It’s totally irrelevant. Where could be better to play than Wembley? It’s true that the pitch is bigger that the one at White Hart Lane, but when teams park the bus against us in the league we’d love to have the space there is at Wembley. There is no perfect senario – just a set of solutions that you have to be able to apply.

    • SpurAndy 🍒π November 3, 2017 at 10:07 am

I thinks that’s absolute tosh. Results prove that there’s an old Indian burial ground underneath the pitch. The spirits have ordained that the hoodoo should only affect the home team.

    Gus
I want them to go all the way to the final and lose

To a 40yd screamer by an ex Spurs player, what on Earth could be better??

  • gloster1861 November 3, 2017 at 8:32 am

At least the international break gives Toby and Hugo a chance to recover for the December slog. Dembele and Winks as CMs should be enough to shut out Palace. Let’s see if Lamela makes a cameo appearance.

    • David Dillenberg November 3, 2017 at 8:38 am

Presumably Palace will utilise the pace of Townsend and Zaha but unlike sides who pack defences they are vulnerable to the open play.

  • David Dillenberg November 3, 2017 at 8:22 am

After the euphoric week Harold Wilson once remarked that “24 hrs in politics is a long time”. Clearly Poch has a selection dilemma against Palace and I don’t envy him.
Win he will be praised. Lose then he will be criticisied for resting some key players when clearly rotating the squad has it’s perils.
    Over and out.

    • David Dillenberg November 3, 2017 at 8:24 am

The downside is that we are already missing inured Lloris and Tobes.

      • gloster1861 November 3, 2017 at 8:38 am

After Palace there’s a fortnight before taking on the Emptycrates mob. They might be back.

  • San Diego Spurs November 3, 2017 at 3:28 am

Agree across the board. Would like to see Kane rested for palace so that Southgate doesn’t fuck him up in a meaningless friendly. Bench has been a weakness for many years, but reserves from Vorm, Llorente, Rose, Aurier, Dembele, and even Sissoko? Those are all top players.

Play Llorente on Sunday with dembele and Son. Rest Eriksen and Kane and Winks.

Kane wasn’t as good as others have opined, but I think he was better than you have made him out to be. Some beautiful passing and running, and his positioning is what allowed the midfield to get in from behind. It’s not all about getting your name on the scoresheet, his movement and tactical nous was that of a top class player. He often disappears or makes the wrong decisions, blinkering the pundits because he then scores a brace. Last night was a team performance, one he played a big part in.

Worst thing about that is as far as I could tell there’s no name on it. Written by Telegraph sport it says. Not only are they a parody and disgrace to an already dead profession, they are cowards too. Its beyond words really when a British team get a result like we did last night and the press decide to produce a snide, underhanded pathetic piece of rotten todd like that and still get a paycheck and have a job tommorow. Gutter life.

Yes, there I was, explaining to my neophyte temporary Spurs friend last night what a consummate genius with the ball at his feet our smiling Belgian midfield dribblemeister is, and that we’d surely see something memorable – and he only goes and gives Ramos an absolute coating. Goals aside, that was the biggest cheer of the night.

    • Harry Hotspur November 2, 2017 at 3:58 pm

He kicked those fuckers up in the air like they were little old ladies…

      • TriniSpurs November 2, 2017 at 4:00 pm

        • Harry Hotspur November 2, 2017 at 4:01 pm

      Taff me.
      It turned the tide

I thought Tripps put in a splendid performance, but think that if Aurier gets a first on completing his anger management class that he will supplant Kieran. Still think that the Insurgent and the much criticized Sissy (including by me) made a potent combo bombing down the right against Liverpool. Guess I’m wrong, because Poch hasn’t tried that again.

    • Bruxie November 2, 2017 at 3:46 pm

      Siss left Trips exposed.

      That needs sorting.

      • ronwol196061🇨🇦 November 2, 2017 at 4:31 pm

After Toby left covering wasnt easy as Tripps still.needed to bomb down.
        But we won

    • TriniSpurs November 2, 2017 at 3:59 pm

Not happening. Tripps miles ahead quality wise.

  • TheCincinnatiYid November 2, 2017 at 3:39 pm

Sissy is still very much a work in progress. Aside from receiving the ball efficiently, and finishing with a shot that lands somewhere in the relevant county, admittedly the lad has picked up some lore on how to run with the pellet without losing it instanter.

It would be nice if Lamela actually returned and made Sissy excess to requirements.

  • Bruxie November 2, 2017 at 3:37 pm

Had a 6ft 7in guy in front of me.

    Pah.

I was offered a seat further fwd by a very nice guy with little lad who had a spare ticket.

    I took it.

Only to find 6 late teens, who had tickets, but didn’t want to be separated, sharing 3 seats and who went bananas after the 1st goal.

Knocked each other and me over in celebration.

I did warn them that a steward would be involved next time I ended on my arse.

They were as good a gold. And I’m pleased they saw something resembling my memories of yesteryear.

We shook hands at the end. And jumped up & down a bit.

In the wake of piss throwing arseholes…I was proud again.

    Of team and supporters.

Wembley is big. We filled it and we prevailed.

    FFS.

    What a night.

    • Harry Hotspur November 2, 2017 at 3:56 pm

You went to game? I can’t believe people still do that.

      • Bruxie November 2, 2017 at 3:58 pm

        Cannot avoid it.

        Genes.

        • Harry Hotspur November 2, 2017 at 4:02 pm

          Stonewash baby

          • Bruxie November 2, 2017 at 4:03 pm

            Watkin’s Folly.

            • Bruxie November 2, 2017 at 4:07 pm

I have to say that Watkin’s Folly’s boss has excelled.

              Atmosphere pre-match is great.

              Get there!

              • Bruxie November 2, 2017 at 4:08 pm

                Early.

        Harry Hotspur
You went to game? I can’t believe people still do that.

Whilst it is admittedly easier to watch the actual game from your arm chair, being part of 83000 spurs fans and experiencing a moment where you forget your identity, your life, your family and friends and just celebrate with a visceral roar, hugging strangers and losing your voice and mind, united by pure elation and adrenaline, there’s nothing quite like it. It’s what being a fan is all about. It’s an experience you keep with you forever and it’s worth suffering the poor view, the costly beer, the travelling. It transcends normal life.

Kudos to Poch for the way he has groomed and integrated Winks.

  • Spiderneil November 2, 2017 at 3:28 pm

Hopefully Sissoko hasn’t been given a squad number because of some ITK about him being dropped from the squad?

    • Spiderneil November 2, 2017 at 3:29 pm

      Please?

    • TheCincinnatiYid November 2, 2017 at 3:40 pm

      Precisely the point methinks.

  • ronwol196061🇨🇦 November 2, 2017 at 3:28 pm
