Are Fulham Rubbish?

Are Fulham Rubbish?

Who knows?

Join us again tomorrow whee we ask ‘if there is a god, why on earth did he give men nipples?’

Spurs travel sarf of the river tomorrow and all eyes will be eagerly awaiting the team selection. Poor old Poch is damned if he plays ‘a best XI’ after the Gent fiasco, and damned if he doesn’t by those wanting to make a credible challenge for some silverware.

Given the Gent business, Poch could argue that a big shake up in personnel is just the ticket.

I take a view that our first XI oughtn’t to be needing to take a ‘look hard look at itself’ in February. As holistic as a spot of soul searching might be for one or two of these overindulged pansies, what is required here is some plain talking.

Poch needs to decide what his tactics are, share them clearly with the squad and tell them to get on with it and not to bother f——- up.

Fulham are not rubbish, for those still wondering.

They’ve won 4 of their last 6 games. It may be of interest to add that Fulham have this season already beaten two Premier League sides, Boro in the League cup and Hull City in this one.

League wise, our opposition are hovering just outside the playoff rankings in the brutal quagmire that is the Championship.

We’ll be without Rose, but Kane should be available and laughably everyone is still listing Erik Lamela as being out with his rose-hip tea injury.

If Jan is fit and we play three at the back and bring in N’Koudou on the left wing we might just win the game handsomely. Poch needs to speculate with the squad today.

    • Ronwol1960-61 February 19, 2017 at 1:17 pm

      N’Koudoo who is he?
A player would have to die for N’Koudoo to get a real chance at a game

Just to remind everybody it was only 36 days ago we beat the Baggies 4-0 which was by general consensus probably the best we’ve played for many a year. We’ve now played some crap games and we’re now apparently irredeemably shit. Poch has been found out and we’ve got no chance as everybody knows how to beat us. If by some miracle we manage to beat a few teams before the end of the season I’m just hoping it’s enough to stave off relegation.

    • Ronwol196061 February 19, 2017 at 12:50 pm

Better you see it and call it as it happens rather than live with delusions Andy.
Its about controlling our own fate and preparing to beat everyone not if the system works we do ok and if not we wont.
      Winners go beyond that.
Our standings are one thing but ask everyone wgat their confudence level us with our team and Poch. Its not very high right now.
Its because Poch and the players have no made a good case to be confident desoute their position

      • SpurAndy 🍒π February 19, 2017 at 1:02 pm

Any sport at the top relies on fine margins. Injuries, players form, luck, tactics etc. It’s an ephemeral mix which changes throughout the season. Rarely does a team have everything going their way through the the year, Leicester being one of the few exceptions. We’ve had a good run of games and most people think we’re the Billy bollox. We have a run of crap games and we’re as bad as the relegation fodder. All I try to do is try and even out the peaks and dips and look at the overall trend. I’m not always successful and my knees do jerk a bit at times but as I’ve said before it’s at the end of the season that the truth lies.

        • East Stand February 19, 2017 at 1:11 pm

          Good post Andy.

        • Ronwol196061 February 19, 2017 at 1:13 pm

We are goid when the pressing works and we’ve sometimes scored goals in bunches. Rose has been good in the past going diwn the left wing and making things happen but Poch has failed in moving the ball with any coherence through the middle with our own passing.
Also last year the critical games were in a week with West Ham and then Arse and last week the debancle at Liverpool….where we failed to show up and the embarrasing defeat to Ghent.
Poch just never got us focused in important games.
Yes we played well against Chelsea and City but we have lacked a building of momentum when everyone started to fear us.

          • SpurAndy 🍒π February 19, 2017 at 1:18 pm

I hear what you’re saying Ron but why is it when we lose they’re always critical season defining games but when we win its just one game in the season and means nothing if we lose the next?

            • Caspurs ♿️ February 19, 2017 at 1:18 pm

              Yup.

            • Ronwol1960-61 February 19, 2017 at 1:29 pm

Losing a game isn’t bad but we caved before we started the game against Liverpool. It was critical. They players were not motivated, they were not determined enough. Who’s fault is that? and itw as critical

          • East Stand February 19, 2017 at 1:21 pm

Players or manager Ron? Eriksen has no guts for the fight, to take it to the next level. He gets scared and goes missing.

The ‘debancle’ at Liverpool and what happened at Citeh were both very similar, Poch has already given them confidence and belief but their characters can’t keep it within themselves and make it hard wired.

Poch updates the software but the hardware can’t cope with the work load. I don’t believe any other manager would get this lot any further than he is, they’re good but slightly dysfunctional…

            • Ronwol1960-61 February 19, 2017 at 1:30 pm

Kane is not the Hardware? Dele is not the hardware? Alderwierld is not the hardware????

  • Ronwol1960-61 February 19, 2017 at 12:25 pm

    Ronan
That’s right. Poch himself specifically said we’ll play the same way against all opponents, like spurs are guardiola-era Barca who can impose their game on anybody. Sissoko, of all people, pointed out after the Gent game that every opponent now knows how spurs will play and have sussed out how to stop them – with relentless harrying and pressing.
Look at the number of sides who have stopped us playing this season (Livx2; BLevx2; Monacox2; Bourn; ManU; ManC; Sund 1st half; Gent) compared to last season (WH; Dort; Newc). Youre right, Poch needs to wake up otherwise we’ll be slipping gently out of the top-4, no matter how ‘easy’ the run in.

The way I felt about AVB was he was a one trick pony.Has a blueprint but no creativity. Apart from Poch switching to the 3 at the back for a time,he too has shown little if any creativity.
Our players are not creative.Infact Poch wants them to just play his game like robots and will fill in with other robots. We look dynamic when things work but when they don’t we don’t have any kind of plan B.
Gone is the player for Spurs who can think and make things happen by his own ingenuity.
When Pochs system is allowed to work we look great but as you Caveman and Accrington say this is all one trick stuff, one plan etc and stifling.

    • Caspurs ♿️ February 19, 2017 at 12:33 pm

“We look dynamic when things work but when they don’t we don’t have any kind of plan.”
Doesn’t this apply to all teams?

      • Ronwol1960-61 February 19, 2017 at 12:37 pm

I never look at anything as far as what others do. If we want success we have to look at what we do wrong and how we can adjust or change. Otherwise you are a victim of fate

Pochettino is up against it in his next two games.

      • Ronwol196061 February 19, 2017 at 12:45 pm

Poch is a victim of his own narrow view.
Cannot see the light if creativity. His plan is good no doubt but I think he cannot adjust on his feet and is weaker when it cones to man management and inspiring the players ni matter what bullshit they say. He shows his frustration when things are not going well so the players are less confident.

        • East Stand February 19, 2017 at 12:52 pm

Poch is a victim of his own relative success with us, polished turds can’t win the league but can do an impression of a team trying to…

          • Ronwol196061 February 19, 2017 at 12:59 pm

Kane and Dele polished turds? Aldereireld ? Rose? Lloris?
            Suppisedly Eriksen?

            • East Stand February 19, 2017 at 1:09 pm

The players you mention accepted Ron, but the rest of the side are polished turds Ron, especially when a couple are injured.

And Eriksen? He’s an enigma just like Lamella, just when you hope they will step up and be consistent they disappear up their backsides. Pedro, Hazard even that tosser Fabregas can be relied upon to step up but you know what? They cost money…

              • Ronwol1960-61 February 19, 2017 at 1:25 pm

Son can play football. His first touch isn’t great but he is one of the few players we have who can actually beat a player by dribbling. He also can get free with space better than most as he is a hustler and can attack the goal where many cant

N’Koudoo has shown place and good talent with the ball but Poch has refused to play him in games so he can actually develop

Wimmer has been totally disrespected and now is expected to be thown in and deputise for Jan

Janssen I think is still fighting to make it and might

Davies…he is not great but how many star back would want to sit on the bench?

Eriksen should be doing a million times better than he is

  • AccringtonSpurs February 19, 2017 at 11:20 am

We’re getting beat not only because of listless performances but also because opposition managers have figured us out. The philosophy is inflexible and once you’ve worked out it’s weaknesses you can get a result against us. Poch needs to up his game generally.

    • caveman February 19, 2017 at 11:40 am

Exactly right. He’s been found out by every opposing manager.

      • caveman February 19, 2017 at 11:44 am

All the have to do is attack down the right and we can’t deal with it. We cannot deal with the ball over the top either. Every manager we face knows this and Pochettino won’t bring young Kyle Walker-Peters in. He’s, to coin a phrase from Bobby, a complete gobshite.

    • Ronan February 19, 2017 at 11:40 am

  • East Stand February 19, 2017 at 10:39 am

I’m going to say something extremely controversial; We are doing alright this season. There I’ve said it.

If you consider the Wembley debacle, C.L participation and following Ropey, not improving the squad at all in the summer (apart from Victor) we are doing rather well.

The media are cooing over Chavs, Manure and Liverpool when their transfer spending and wage structures dwarfs ours.

We halted Chav’s run and soundly beat them at the lane when everyone else was fainting at the sight of Costa, Hazard and Conte as champions elect. Ok, we’ve fucked it up here and there and Citeh and Scouse away were the slow start thing again which has probably cost us any chance of catching the Chavcheats.

Liverpool are just keeping up after spending loads in the summer and being in zero other competitions, that game was a freak event and we are a better side than them.

However, whatever happens at Fulham today or at Wembley this week Poch is achieving very good things with remnants of the dysfunction that was there before him and clearly still exists with the summer transfer activity. Give Poch Mane, Hazard or even facking Pedro or Coutinho and we’d on for the title.

Turds have been polished and nobody better has been brought in, my fear is that Poch will get bored and pissed of with dealing with the midget megalomaniac that pays his wages…

    • caveman February 19, 2017 at 10:42 am

We’re on a bad run though, similar to Liverpool’s bad run recently.

      • East Stand February 19, 2017 at 10:48 am

Yes we are but over the whole season to be where we are all things considered I still feel we are doing pretty well. Liverpool couldn’t cope without Coutinho and Mane missing, they became mid-table dross overnight.

We are missing Rose and Verts but I’m pleased we are having our slump now.

Look at Woolwich, they do this every season they become total turd, go out of the C.L, lose to relegation fodder and then for the last 6-7 games go on a winning run and finish strong. We always blow a gasket on the home straight, lets hope the timing of things is a bit better this time…

      • 61SpursNut🌰 February 19, 2017 at 10:54 am

We’re only on a bad run away from home, unlike Pooh. We have won our last nine games at the Lane.

  • Chi Y-Word February 19, 2017 at 12:13 am

Trouble is – he knows his tactics, it’s having the personnel to play them. No Rose and Davies isn’t good enough to play in a back 4 or the favoured back 5 at the moment – his confidence is shot. Dier is trying his best, but isn’t a centre back. Son can’t track back – he wants to play up front or behind the striker, so gets pulled inside to often. Same with Eriksen. Trouble is, he can’t drop Dele when he’s scoring goals. The upshot is we have no width and very little pace, which means we can’t stretch teams. The focus is through the middle to one of two options, which makes the press far too easy. if it was me (and if Verts is back), I’d stick with 4 at the back with Dier just in front. Wanyama and Dembele can both play the ball and beat a man so step them further forward. Dele in front of them and Jansen/Son and Jansen/Kane together up top. Walker and Davies can bomb on, with Dier dropping in and we get nice triangles all over the pitch.

It’s up to the players. They have to grab the game by the bäləks and crush Fulham. It really is that simple.

he would say that technically they are a norf london club because technically they are norf of the thames even though they are in west london. He would argue that technically the boundaries commission or post code wallahs were incorrect and ther may have been a historical political reason that has been lost in the mists of time . but yeh they are in norf london in regards to the position of the river thames
