Any Martial Bid Is A Levy Panic Buy

By The Boy -

Manchester United received two offers for Anthony Martial today. One was the suggestion of a loan deal from Inter Milan. The second was a ‘straightforward’ offer of purchase from Tottenham.

Our bid was supposedly rejected. This is being reported by just the one source in France and aggregated by all and sundry.

Gladys is unaware of this audacious move and but suspects if it is true, then this target has been ‘identified’ by our scouting mastermind Steve Hitchen.

Martial has not had it all his own way at United and is a player that Jose is looking to nudge on, and nudge off the wage bill. Last season the Frenchman made 25 Premier League appearances of which 18 were were from the starting lineup. In the 2016/17  season the 21 year old chipped in 8 goals.

Levy is chancing his arm here which given the corner he’s painted himself into this window, is something we may see a little more of over the next few weeks.

Is Martial a player Spurs could use? Given then balsa-wood state of our bench and the complicated nature of our first XI (see Sissoko and Lamela for further details) it’s difficult to be appear picky and convincing at the same time – although I ma confident some of you will manage it…
