Another Regeneration Coup For Levy

By The Boy -

…swerved.

The regeneration of Haringey is something a good number of you dummies are very quick to tell people that you support.

This fantastic myth is based upon the notion that your fleeting visit and minuscule spend is somehow making a difference to the local economy.

Newsflash, it doesn’t. It never has and thanks to ENIC, it never will.

Spurs have been at The Lane since 1882 and whilst the cars driving out of the West Stand car park have improved, the borough of Haringey itself has disappeared down the toilet.

‘But more fans will increase the spend!’ Except it won’t. First of all the demographic is entirely wrong. Most Spurs fans can’t wait to get the hell out of Dodge come full time.

Any extra spend in Levy’s brave new world will as ever, be surrendered unto Levy.

Which brings me onto the build of the project.

Any local businesses involved?

Nah, easier to turf them out the way.

The new micro brewery to deliver up to 10,000 pints a minute?

I contacted local brewers at the Redemption Brewery earlier.

They have a superb selection of craft beers, including the famous ‘Hopspur’ and could hardly be closer, located a stones’ throw away the other side of Northumberland Park on the Compass West Estate.

Surely the perfect fit?

They have not been asked to supply THFC.

Oh I’m sorry. The closest THFC will come to benefiting the local community is knocking down listed buildings and getting Whitbread to hire some local kids on zero hour contracts.
