Well that was a waste of a Sunday.

The saving grace being that I opted not to hit the noonday booze.

Boy that would have made for an even more deeply unrewarding experience.

For those of you reading this who are too thick to understand what we witnessed here, I’ll explain it.

Thursday’s exertions were pointless.

Today’s were as fruitless as they were predictable.

We fielded a stupidly strong team against the Carrier Bags, then went on to field a largely jaded XI against Chelsea.

A Chelsea side that are having their worst season since they were formed in 1995.

A Chelsea side that opted to play with a designated striker.

Hey! Maybe there’s some CIA mind spray in beta being squirted into the Haringey air – one sniff and you don’t think playing with a centre forward is important.

The truth is that Chelsea did not park the bus, if that’s your analysis, you need to see your GP and tell him that your brain isn’t working properly.

We failed to win because we had left to much in a field in some foreign land, that was more Asian than it was European.

But this fiasco wasn’t merely an unfortunate bottleneck of fixtures, it was another example of Spurs being mismanaged, the football coming second to the to the business.

Due to to the blatant incompetence of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club buying Clinton Fakin Cards (who should be either back in Lyon or on loan at Luton, but basically anywhere but wasting a shirt at White Hart Lane) opposed to a real striker, Pochettino was left with Hobson’s Choice.

We could either send a first team to Azabarbarjinks, or field a first team against the wounded and disconcerted Chelsea.

I once heard a man in a bookies saying that he only backed dogs, because unlike horses, they didn’t have a little men on their backs, telling them to slow down.

Footballers aren’t horses but our players that travelled were certainly handicapped by the jaunt.

The fact that N’jie wasn’t good enough to lead the attacking line on Thursday, only serves to emphasise how utterly dishonest it was to use him as a substitute earlier today.

Same old Tottenham, mend and make do on the pitch; whilst simultaneously keeping the duffle bag to the boat full and on time, every time.

Whilst the poor bar steward players get wheeled out to wheel out the now utterly contaminated pushing on for that elusive Champions League spot line, the business routinely tops the Low Net Spend table.

How did Spurs do against Chelsea today?

Don’t ask me, due to depressingly all too foreseeable circumstances, none of us had the bloody opportunity to find out.
