And So It Begins As £50million Hits The Market

By The Boy -

Everton have moved quickly to bolster their ranks ahead of next season as the Toffees splashed out over £50million on Thursday to bring in Jordan Pickford and Davy Klaassen.

Having announced the £30million club-record signing of Pickford from Sunderland earlier in the day, Ronald Koeman’s recruitment drive continued when Everton confirmed a £23.5million deal for Ajax skipper Klaassen.

What clowns Everton are. Fancy splurging a fortune on new players and before the window has even opened – talk about a fool and his money being soon parted!

It’s pretty obvious to me that Levy’s stewardship is the horse to back here. The sensible thing to do is to out-wait the opposition, then pounce at the death and force an ultimatum deal.

The worst case scenario is that we don’t spend and every time we don’t spend, it’s another step away from ‘doing a Leeds’.

I suspect that Everton are probably laundering some people trafficking money, more proof that the FFP is utterly meaningless!

Or someone’s about to announce the signing of Ross Barkley.
