There’s a pattern emerging. Personal terms agreed with Wilfried Zaha and yet Gladys now tells me that Spurs and Palace have since been involved in a game of musical chairs when it comes to the money. Glad said:
‘Big Wilf’s agent hasn’t stopped pushing the kid since Palace fought their way out of the relegation scrap. He knows there;s more money to be had now.’
It’s difficult to argue that the
24 25 year old’s value will have risen in line with the Eagles’, who have gone from bottom of the league to fourteenth.
Spurs have been monitoring the boy on and off for some time, and in this respect Palace’s revival couldn’t have come at a worse time. Equally, hopes of getting a deal done in the New Year must have also taken a significant hit.
More to the point, come the summer Glad assures me that Spurs won’t be the only Premier League side looking to snap Zaha up.
There was much snarling from one blocked toilet of a Palace blog when this ITK was announced and I look forward to seeing Zaha move in the summer. Wherever he goes to will be a significant upgrade. That’s is hardly a revelation of course.
