I had the dual misfortune earlier this evening to a] find myself in a bloody Seat ‘Leon’ and b] to briefly hear Jermaine *****.
He was describing our unbeaten run as a run where we had also failed to beat anyone, but interestingly he described it as a blip – and one that the win against CSKA Moscow had put an end to.
My issue with playing a full strength side against the Russians was based upon nothing other than common sense.
We where already out of that completion. So it was entirely pointless.
Plus, only a dull and particularly needy child would seek to convince anyone that an atypical outcome was robust indicator of a change of fortune.
Old Trafford away it is and presumably the gaffer is going to try and win this one too.
This is one of those games that provide us with a credible as well as seasonal litmus test.
Despite what some may try to tell you, winning is where it is at Daddy-O. And we haven’t done a whole lot of that on this particular plot of grass in Manchester.
