A ST Holder’s Thoughts After The Mauling

Well, yesterday was a clusterf*ck, wasn’t it? That said, I walk away with two straws to clutch.

Our support – the business as usual. Tim said the team owed the fans because we were superb. He was right, we were. We outsung the nouveau brigade to our right, and the chavs to our left.

Walking away from Stamford Bridge I could hear there was a ‘big interview’ from Sherwood. Having seen it, that’s my second straw.

Tim knows he is gone in May, and to be fair to him, he said a few home truths that’s on the mid of every fan right now. Sometimes a bit of honesty from the management maintains our sanity as supporters. He was right we’re not good enough for top 4.

Now, I was an admirer of Redknapp during his time at The Lane. But, his bull used to drive me mad. I can just imagine what he would have said after our defeat yesterday = ‘Well, you know, at 0-0 we’re bang in the game. Little mistake and that changes everything. But we’re not far off that fourth spot, still bang in there”.

I can just see it.

So, for Tim to come out and say exactly what we’re all thinking is incredibly refreshing. He’s a man who knows his time is up and the shackles are well and truly off.

Having said that, did you see Glenda’s comments after the interview? I think this geezer still thinks he’s in contention for the position in May.

As for the rest of the season? I say the next three games are massive. Let’s focus on the last trophy we can win. Lets go all out for Europa – why not? And of course, next Sunday.

Lets’ play for pride and try and end their title bid. If we manage to get a result against them, as well as a good Europa campaign, I’d be happy.

Considering how this season has gone, we can’t expect much more.
