A Fire Under Levy’s Bottom: Poch Wants £50M Man

By The Boy -

Watching Everton snaffle up Davy Klaassen suggested one of two things.

Either we were going to defy form and opt for the superior option, or we were yet again going to waste everybody’s time and then mumble something about how great the development squad players were as we anonymously shuffled away.

Ross Barkely’s valuation oscillates wildly depending upon who you ask. Gladys says £25million plus add ons. Virtually every national newspaper in the UK prefers a ‘£50million’ splash.

Ben from the near royal and ancient From The Lane forum says that Barkley is ‘the one’ that the Pochmeister wants.

If true, this puts the heat close to the already shiny seat of Baldy’s wool mix suit.

At the risk of repeating myself, given that the squad is already too lightweight for next season and that Levy has decided to further handicap that light squad by stupidly opting to play at Wembley, Spurs cannot afford to do nothing.

Doing nothing isn’t an option.

In fact, this is the beginning of a very challenging time for Levy.

The now thankfully few imbeciles out there that still use the stupid phrase ‘Levy Time’ will in this window finally be served their winding up order.

Doing nothing, leaving it too late, failing to deliver and seeking to pass it off as being ‘canny’ or whatever simply will not work this time round.

Players are looking for better deals.

You, you sat there waiting to wave your jolly little flag that cost 5p to make in China at Wembley or the New Destination™, you don’t count for sh*t.

Players are looking for better deals.

Money and status.

I have to confess that the thought of Barkley in the Lilywhite excites me to the extent that he looks extremely competent. He’s ready to go. Nothing to cartwheel about, but he’s very likely to give us a player that won’t go missing and will get the job done on time, every time.

Levy buys far too many ‘punts’, it is after all the methodology that keeps the net spend down.

Barkley isn’t a punt.
