…hotel room door.
Some players were in the parking lot [of the Protea The Winkler Hotel] when I arrived. CAF did nothing wrong. They informed the team in advance that if they lost they would leave the next day, but the team is still there at the hotel.
Togo were supposed to leave with the plane that dropped Ghana on Monday, but I’m told that [Emmanuel] Adebayor asked the players to stay because they were going to take a private jet home. So instead of going to Johannesburg first they would fly straight home. The private jet didn’t arrive and in the end the players are now stuck.”
This is from kickoff.com who are reporting that footballers and specifically Emmanuel Adebayor are always ready to take being self indulgent jackanapes to another level. Forget not bothering to keep fit in the preseason, forget all the time wasting we had to suffer before he eventually condescended to sign.
Forget he wasn’t fit enough to play when did eventually waltz in. After swanning off to the widely respected African Cup Of Nations for however long, he first announces he’s physically exhausted and is now playing hide and seek in some hotel on our time!
Are we seriously supposed to swallow the tale that a group comprising of some of the nation’s wealthiest guests are genuinely ‘stuck’ in this luxury resort? Is he coming back for Newcastle? Lyon? West Ham? Will he be jet lagged?

They’re making a film of it, Psyco 10. A group of footballers stuck at a luxury resort, get bumped off one at a time it’s a whoathunkit !
Whodathunkit even.
I read some bullshit article on tat vital site the other day,. In fact, all their articles are bullshit, no one ever starts out with a point to make!!… And some of the cads that comment,.. But I digress.
What was my point?.. Oh yeah,. Ade needs to sharpen up a bit mate.
apparently he met up with Yakubu for a few swift halves, so we’ll see him in about 3 weeks
apparently highjacked the plane that Gazza was on to take em all on a mighty bender!
JK
Let us not forget – we were warned about this guy before we bought him. If weren’t able to get rid of Bentley in a creative way then we have no chance of off loading this one. He’s here to stay.
Seriously hope he will make Newcastle – also that AVB gives Siggy a rare start behind him, I think that playing that way will bring the absolute best out of Siggy finally and we will see old Siggy of Swansea – bangin´them in for fun. Holtby should be brought in slowly.
Lewis Holtby does not need bringing in ‘slowly’. He slotted right into the team so fast.
He will be absolutely fine. Stick him an Bale in behind Dempsey and a striker and we’ll be tickety-boo
we got what we should have known we would get. cannot complain, his mo is remarkably consistent. decent first season, second crap one. once contract in hand demonstarte that he only cares about number 1 and could not give amonkey’s about anyone else. levy has done many good things but how he lissed this i do not know
I would imagine the text/voicemail message from AVB/Levy would leave him in no doubt that his salary is at risk if he isn’t at the training ground by Thusrday ready for Saturday lunchtime.
He’s not the brightest, so I reckon Bale will be up front.
Another blessing in disguise, may be.
A private jet, my arse. He’s taking Togo for a ride.
Mr. levy should not be looking for a striker just now. Better would be a hit man to relieve our dependence on a lout of a player. No doubt many pro footballers are lazy when it comes to fulfilling their contracts. This one is determined to leave a legacy of little character at as many clubs as possible.
We knew what he was like before he was signed… plenty of warning..
Young guy, mega money, living it large a bit,, now you would too , wouldn’t you ??
the stupid (unt has previous for this, he acts like he doesn’t give two fucks about us and if he ain’t back/ready for saturday start fining his big fat lazy arse
I hope Levy and AVB confront him and make a stand, striker or no striker and firmly telll that they have had enough of his bullshit. The other players need to know that too. That this is a team.
How his behaviour is tolerated is beyond me. He has a CONTRACT AT TOTTENHAM. No point docking his salary but how about benching him permanently and persevering with what we’ve got. Then when J.D is fit put an arm round his shoulder and tell him we love him. I think he’ll then get back to his early season form and fire us into the top 3. Then sell Adebayor for 50P in the Summer.
Too angry to post. May need to leave this one a few hours….
they will only fine him, which is useless as he obviously doesnt know or care about the value of money.
Saha’s gone to Lazio. It’s all over, even our panic buy striker is out of the picture.
Lets hope Kane’s able(geddit?) to make the step up and scoree the 30 goals required of a Tottenham striker in order to keep the fans happy.
I dont understand at all. All the guy has to do is show up and play football for one of the most talented teams he’s been on. This is a team with hopes for Europa this year and CL next year . How he doesn’t see that he would fit so perfectly in this lineup and probably have one of his best career years is baffling. Levy and AVB better not put up with this crap. He’s literally holding us back from moving up to 3rd in the table. He could ruin our season.
My wife has decided to go against my wishes and watch Rory and Will. Will seems ok but having the Gooner Rory Mcgrath on the tv is like having a steaming pile of horse manure or burger ingredient, whichever you prefer, in the corner of the living room. I am still traumatised by the kettle packing in and the land-line conking out, (yes I’m one of those morons that still use a land line), but now this Ade Bermuda Triangle thing has really got me down. It’s like Stephen King’s “The Langoliers” about a group of people that fly off somewhere in a jet and nearly wind up being consumed by the mysterious keepers of time. The sinister cosmic plot directed at our striker situation seems to carry on unabated. Hmm…maybe Ade wants to be a film star instead of a footballer.
Two things I forgot to put in the piece.
1. AVB’s presser after West Brom suggested he wouldn’t be here for Toon. I’m pretty sure he said Lyon.
2. In an interview Ade gave in Africa, he used a phrase like. ‘I’ll speak to the chairman (DL) when I get back, everything will be fine. or something very close to it.
I want him to be a success, but I spy a major cock op on the cards with all this…
Didn’t see that but wouldn’t AVB’s interview have been before Togo went out?
It was after West Brom mate. Let me see if I have it. Hang on…
Here we is: http://threeandin.com/2013/02/05/video-avb-unphased-by-striker-issues-we-create-a-lot-as-a-team/
This was after the West Brom game, he said even if Togo progress he will be back after Newcastle. Given that Togo were knocked out that night Iwould’ve hoped he’d be able to train by at least Thursday. If it’s true that he hasn’t even travelled yet that he’s a pr*ck, why did he need to organise travel for everyone else, surely no other players were travelling back to England with him anyway.
As I read the item, they were going back to Togo and then were going to disperse from there.
You have to question the organisation by the Togo FA in any case. Angoia is about half-way between Togo and SA. Not including flight changes they are travelling about 1500 miles the wrong way to catch a plane that will probably fly over Angola on the way to Togo. So not including lay-overs about eight hours after they have taken off, they should be back to where they started. Surely the sensible thing to do was to give them tickets so they could fly home directly from Angola?
Anyone remember the time when you had to worry your night out might get ruined because the cab failed to turn up. Now it’s the curse of a footballers life that he, the private jet night be late. YCMIU
Just had a look: Luanda (Angola) to Lome (Togo)
1,300 miles approx.
Luanda to Lome (Via Joburg) 5,900 miles approx.
In terms of scale, that is like being in Stoke Newington, and going to Tottenham via Liverpool St. Not to excuse Ade,but this looks like poor organisation bybthe Togolese
what’s Luanda got to do with it? He’s in S.Africa……
I thought it was in Mozambique he was playing.
If I am wrong (not unlnown) then this becomes inexcusable
@spudulike
Apologies. For some reason or other, I was under the impression that the comp was given to Angola after it was taken back from Libya.
You are of course correct.
@HH
“cock op”. Is that code for “castration”?
Is there any decent free transfers out there?
How about we try other players in the spot.
How about Bale inside Walker on the right lennon on the left
any other ideas?
If Kaboul was fit try him up top
Where are the direct quotes! No one really knows what’s happened out there maybe Ade is seen as the main trouble maker but just because he is the most hi profile! 99% of you out there wanted him to sign after his season last year but now all to quick to slag him off and if he scores a few winners will be cheering him again! Fickle fickle spurs fans on here as for you Harry Hotspunk stop playing with yourself and write some proper and informing news on the mighty spurs
Pablo, do you genuinely believe that this tale is made up?
I championed us signing him. At a time, that idea was received with a fair amount of hostility.
And is there anything about my account of him mucking us about, prior to joining that you want to debate? No, thought not.
I tried to have look on kickoff.com via mein hande but couldn’t find it I hope he is no longer stranded the poor poppet,I was presuming he’d be back today which isn’t unreasonable if he’s not back tomorrow we’ll all know from Avb’s press conference . I read quotes he’s “exhausted” unless he’s cleared this with the bosses I expect more drama depending on his state I expect him to play Saturday I hope once back at work he wakes up & realises his chance is now
He makes a good point in that details in the story are slight at best and either way I fail to see why whatever he’s up to is a direct affront to THFC. When is his expected due back date? You don’t know, so aren’t in a position to say he’s late for it!
Adès antics thousands see every week so I wouldn’t put hit past him
I’m in the one percent majority then?
completely agree, pablo!….Strange concept SUPPORTERS, SUPPORTING THEIR CLUB AND IT’S PLAYERS, ISN’T IT?!
I was a tad reticent about his signing at the time having listened to the various ex-team supporters. I am still not seeing the good side (post loan). We were warned about his indifference after being signed I am hoping they were all so wrong.
Let’s hope it’s media bs and he’ll be there on time for training and the match but if not, he really needs a servere bollocking from AVB/DL and his teammates, bench him, fine him and make an example, we’re pushing for 3rd and nonsense like this from a player should not be tolerated.
The annoying thing is we were warned! My gooner mate told me, your gooner mate told you,.. We all knew what he was like!
I’m generally a fan of Levy & what he has done for the club in my 28 years on this earth, but it would have been nice if we had moved on after our loan deal for Ade,. Just another example of not being able to ignore a cheapy!! – He comes cheap for a reason!! – He’s a pain in the arse!!!!!…. If he had half the professionalism and attitude Dempsey had!!… Dempsey’s a great pro and is an an honest hard working bloke!!.. SO please lay off him!!…Actually ,,…… More than that!!!!! – He ghosts into goal scoring positions,. some times that means standing still and he knows, its a knakc u have or u dont and its worth 6 million pound.
Dempsey also came cheap for a reason – he’s a mid table player; a trier, but mid table.
Has it come to the point were we now lay out £6m and its deemed “cheap”.
Football will definitely eat itself…..
If you look back at The Moaner With No Nuts post’s you’ll see he advocates lower wages for players, but continually whines when Levy doesn’t splash the cash on top players! Yeah, it does beggar belief!
Ain’t roberto keano training with us ? Just saying like
Yes but can’t play him, he’s not listed in the squad.
Well, definitely not being fickle. Everything Ade has done so far this season has been unprofessional. The worst part is there is no reason for him to be upset or acting up. No matter how much we were warned, you think once a guy enters his prime, becomes a man, turns 27, that they might grow up. They might want a League title, or a CL title. He has no visible aspirations in football. We should be allowed to void the contract. Or at least be fined heavily. We could have signed any number of less talented strikers who at least would have shown up. What I would give for Demba Ba right now. But really, wasn’t Robbie Kean out there and training with us? Did he sign somewhere else. He’d be an ok month long signing or something. Well, I have hopes that Harry Kane gets some game time, even if its only as a late sub. Hopefully Kane can make something out of the opportunity. Otherwise though, I would not mind at all seeing Bale give a go as a fake number 9. Also, Siggy is kind of just sitting on our bench looking for a role to play. From everything I have seen, it would seem Siggy has a decent shot and accurate to boot. Why not give him a shot to play up front? He was a decent goal scorer at Swansea. And really, Siggy hasn’t looked all that comfortable anywhere else. Ideally, I’d like Ade to snap out of this and return. But screw him. Let’s give Kane, SIggy and Bale a shot. Heck, even Cuthburt.
Judge him after Saturdays game. Not from dubious reports that he has started a private Jet hire businness. Are his team mates at the hotel just sheep, or are they like some on this board and follow any one with a down on Abedayor or Spurs.
There’ll no doubt be a few posts about Adebayor’s supposed ‘charities’ in Togo (probably employing his relations at inflated salaries, and building a power base for when he returns home as Togo’s wealthiest man – next stop President Ade!) from people who STILL think that modern footballers are decent human beings – the majority are more or less scumbags, with a dozen Adebeyors/Bentleys/Balotellis for every Dawson. The ridiculous fuss about the WBA player spitting showed what hypocrites they are – the same players who feign injury, who routinely claim every throw-in or corner regardless of who last touched the ball, who dive when they reach the penalty area despite riding foul tackles in less telling areas of the pitch (surely he doesn’t mean Gareth Bale?), and who try to get their ‘fellow professionals’ booked or sent off at every opportunity, then get their collective y-fronts in a twist about spitting – give me strength! It’s a disgusting habit which you see all too frequently now (no wonder TB is back with a vengeance), but nowhere more than on the football pitch, and if a gob directed at Walker last Sunday was worth a red, then a yellow would seem highly appropriate for all the other random gilberts to which the spectators are treated week in, week out (and in splendid close-up on Sky or MOTD). No, I don’t much like modern footballers, whoever they play for, in case I haven’t made it clear.
Ok thats it Im off to see the Harlequins
Shouldn’t you be on the Pot Black site mate.
He might want to go in off the North Bank
Yes it’s shocking, disgraceful and shouldn’t be allowed, so I guess you never scream for a penalty when a crisp packet tackles our forwards, or berate the ref for not giving a red when a yellow will do-heaven forbid!
We’ve got the game we deserve, there were no good old day’s, players cheated, players feigned injury, took bribes and messed about with other women. Players have always been dodgy, it’s because many have time, money and opportunity-If you knew your history, you can go back a century and see exactly the same things going on-perhaps worse!
You are probably right – I’ve thought a bit more since my latest rant, and the problem (my problem) is that the Spurs I support and love isn’t the Spurs currently residing at 748, Tottenham High Road, but is a fantasy formed in my 1950s and ’60s childhood, consisting of a mixture of Cliff Jones and Cliff Richard (another Cheshunt throwback – I’m not gay), of my uncle’s stories of Jimmy Dimmock (whose grandson, Keith, went to my primary school), and the last throws of the cockney London that survived the blitz, and now hangs on in Harlow and Basildon, of which Tottenham Hotspur as the best team in the country was a huge part. Spurs 2013 can’t possibly compete (though Spurs 2010/11 had a good go), and the current players are always being measured against the giants of the past (both as people and as players) and usually fail the test, at least in my world of unreality. The supreme irony is that I hate the likes of Adebayor or Campbell far more than Terry or Wilshere, because they are betraying MY Spurs, which isn’t the same as yours, or anybody else’s.
Fair play CB,but having a Goon brother, I could reel off Alan Sunderland, Tony Adams, Peter Storey, Paul Vassen and a few other’s in my time that have had dodgy pastimes-It’s nothing to do with football really, it’s the individual, much like Gazza I guess, who has a free choice. Clubs with Chairman trying to set fire to his club in the dead of nigh or rugby players with an eminent doctor and respected former international colluding to cheat or TV companies and the media twisting every word-it’s all been done before-it’s the public stop lapping it up and teams like ours saying enough’s enough to the demands of players and their agents-but can you image the reaction on here for example if Levy said ‘I’m not paying that for him?’ Heaven forfend CB
On that note- The Spurs of my past was a shithole of a stadium, piss poor players led by a piss poor manager (ex-Goon) appointed by a piss poor board of directors-we played to ave piss poor 24k attendances and listened to the tunes of Mecca Bookmakers and Brentford Nylons being blasted in your ears, it’s a really half full glass that I’m drinking from CB
I don’t know whether the long-running and heated debates about the merits of Levy, AVB, Defoe or whoever are age-related; certainly people like me who (dimly) remember the glory days of the ’60s, and recall Arsenal’s pathetic struggle to keep-up (we bought Greaves while they bought Joe Baker, Ian Ure for them and Mike England for us etc) have great difficulty with our ‘best of the rest’ status, and the fact that it’s 25 years since we signed Gazza for a British record fee, something we’ll never manage again (barring an oligarchical miracle!). I completely concede that there were plenty of dodgy characters about in the ’60s and ’70s, but I can’t imagine that Ledley King retiring to run a woolshop like his injury-stricken predecessor Maurice Norman did in 1965 – it was a different world, and none the worse for that. I actually went to far more games in the grim ’70s than the glorious ’60s, and you’re right: watching Don McAllister and Chris Jones in a run-down half-empty stadium puts things at WHL today into a different perspective, and the only time I’ve actually been frightened at a match was when we drew 2-2 with Arsenal when Willie Young (playing for us) was sent off for persistently fouling Malcolm MacDonald, and the mixture of hatred and desperation had to be experienced to be believed. I don’t actual despise everyone currently playing for Spurs (and I’m looking forward to the return of Kaboul, a trier and a good footballer), but when you hear even such an archetypal premiership star as Rio Ferdinand saying (as he did a couple of days ago) that young players are too concerned with money and the trappings of wealth, it says it all. End of ramble.
Strange how you remember the only game at the Lane I’ve ever been thrown out of. That 2-2 draw was a boxing day fixture, when we scored with a Young header, only for it to be disallowed because the Goons we not ready-and we did exactly the same thing again-and Young scored-Rimmer the Arse keeper, took Young out with a punch to the head, missing the ball by a mile-I screamed ‘pen’-my brother disagreed-I disagreed with him and all hell broke loose-we both got nicked, and took a hiding from the police under the East stand-good game though!
I dont know what are you lot on about but Adebayor is alread back at Spurs Lodge….errmmm after a binge with Yakubu apparently he turned up at Spurs Lodge only to realise that Spurs dont train there anymore. Probably will be found in Prince Regent soon promising all the bar staff free flights to Togo.
Hamgabout, I thought it was a blessing that Defoe was injured and Adebayor was going to jet back in desperate to play Romeo to his Holtbyness’ Juliet. Have I been fed suspect information some where along the line?
3L’s The number you want is the samaritans and if you dont have a working phone your on the wrong website
you need WWW,tieyourmumskeksroundyournecktietoabalconyandjump.com theywill help you with you depression and groundhogday syndrome
Well, I still say Siggy should be given a shot s either a 9 or False 9. But also, Dembele came up as a Striker I believe. If someone could fill in adequately in the deep middle, then theoretically he could play Striker. No one would be taking the ball away from him at least. Just not sure without Sandro, who could fill in.
Dembeles finishing is up there with Modrics. Not a striker and never will be!!
Latest reports suggest that Adebayor is pissed off with the club for not buying a striker and feels overburdened, staying in Africa till he’s given a pay-rise.
I remember when Ade was emerging at Arsenal,so powerful and my heart sunk to see him getting ready to step into Terry Henry’s boots. The Mutual back slapping was puke inducing. Then he thought he was the main kiddie and instantly became an arse, and has remained that way ever since.A few months playing well to get a contract and then reverting to type just makes him even more despicable in my eyes.It was a sad day when we bought the (unt.No doubt he’ll have a few more good games but I feel we can never rely on the man.GET RID
I hope this isn’t true but am afraid it probably is. Time to sit down with the lawyers and try to cut the losses now
So he’s in Our Man in Africa? He’ll get his ass back here in time. I’m more concerned about Dempsey (in theory) who’s playing in Honduras against USA. Not worried as such, more a case of we might actually need him for Saturday.
If this is as bad as it looks you have to ask yourself, “Surely Ade must have known he was drinking in the last chance saloon”?
Does it matter to him Dub, he get’s paid regardless of performance, only longevity matter’s and at 100k per week? he can sit on his Arsenal and sit out the remainder of his contract if he wanted to, and there’s not a damned thing anyone can do about it!
There will be clauses in his contract regarding making best efforts etc. If he is in breach of them, they can terminate and sue him. The arbiter is not the High Court, but the rather more speedy Court for Arbitration in Sport.
Remember Adrian Mutu? I understand that the £15 mill he owes Cheatski is being docked from his wages? This is subject to an appeal to the ECHR, and as i understand it, Chelse managed to get the deduction made before the appeal was heard on grounds that the only sanction available in the event of non-payment is a world wide ban, which has no effect if the player has retired. So he continues to pay pending the appeal.
Getting high is pretty clear cut I’d wager, as would a positive drugs test prove fairly conclusive-different scenario entirely Dub?
I am not talking about this as being grounds for the breach on it’s own.
If he has breached club disciplne, the club are allowed to take commensurate action. So it starts with a fine. If he then goes on strike, that is a clear breach of contract, and it has always been accepted that striking is grounds for dismissal.
In the case of a PL footballer, the fact that they cannot replace him due to the window being closed, must be seen as an ag=gravating factor.
I tried to post the Fulop-related (chuck it in my own net) chat, from yesterday, on a couple of footie websites, but they keep getting rejected… sounds like the lawyers are involved, so does that mean there may be a ring of truth about it all? Under investigation? Anyway, it’s all very fishy…
The one thing that convinces me it isn’t fishy is that fact that Fulop’s performance was *so* inept that day it couldn’t possibly be a fix.
Unless , of course, it’s the mother of all double-bluffs
Well, it had to be pretty dire, because the rest of the team clearly weren’t in on the bet and were playing out of their skins… :)
Apparently the game being investigated involves the Liverpooh against a Hungarian team in the CL which Poo won 1-0., It appears that the matter being investigated is not that the GK threw thw match, but that he failed to report the attempt to bribe him in good time.
You couldn’t seriously be suggesting that Arsenal have used duplicitous and underhand methods to deprive us of betterment? How ridiculous, there’s never been anything like it before……..oh, wait a moment!
Just as an aside someone recently (I think it ws YidinJapan) asked what we sang as Holtbys new song at W Brom.
Depeche Modes “Just Cant get enough” was rehashed from Liverpool with Lewis Hotlby…instead of Luis Suarez
It just came to me…. Sorry
So, does it go: “du-du du-du du-du du-du du-du… Holt-by”?
Or, is it the “I just can’t seem to get enough… Holt-by”??
It’s the Depeche Mode one, mon brave.
hahaha…they’re both from the Depeche Mode song (just different parts of the song…) :)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=99DRvMlu8nM
ffs
this guy could be a world beater had he any motivation
FW2, it’s difficult to find games where they will be trying tonight, just gone for a treble,
Brazil 13/10
Argentina 1/1
Greece 6/4
Longshot but you never know.
The only flaw to the part of the article you have posted Harry is that it only tells us that a private jet had not arrived and the players were still in the hotel monday during the day it does not track anyone’s whereabouts from the there.
Its now wednesday if my calender is upto date. also he missed a plane to togo so he was not expected back then? and
if AVB said he was not going to be back for newcastle in a press conference after the west brom game wasnt that before the Togo result was known? so is he expected back now or not then?
Is there any upto date info, for all we know his private charter arrived shorly after they were seen in the car park (maybe getting into cars to the airport?) and he is currently at home snuggled upto chirpy
surely even the daily fail would have worked out ade’s absence by now and would laying into AVB and the club as a whole by now trying to unsettle us and make LLL even more nervous about our lack of striker (Not that we need one)
The answer is that this is a non-story with all the details that might be of possible relevance to us missing and instead speculated upon and inserted regardless. I was a cynic – which I am – I’d argue that HH may be trying to subvert the should Levy have bought a striker issue by making it Adebayor’s fault that he’s the only striker and he might be arriving back a day late. Or might not be, because nobody seems to actually know when he’s due back for training and when he’s supposed to be playing again.
You would have got some price on England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales all to be winning at Half Time 5184/1.
Another good goal from Baler tonight for Wales.
And on the subject of “Young, gifted and black, anyone see the story where Berlusconi’s brother referred to Balotelli as the “Family nigger”.
http://www.sportinglife.com/football/video/24811/8475497/racism-storm-over-mario
Burlusconi’s brother in high up in right wing politics. no supprise.
And glad you finally realised Ade is a fake HH.
The crap you used to spout about him made me cringe.
Oh, the story was written on some dodgy website, nobody (bar you) has ever heard of, so it must be true!
How about you try doing some GOOD and write about ALL the things a fully fit/focused Adebayor can bring to the team, instead of spewing out this COUNTER-PRODUCTIVE NONSENSE. (Just a suggestion)
Like it OR NOT, Ade is a member of the Spurs team and part of our club. So attempting to stir up a hornets nest, regarding the players (APPARENT, lack of) commitment/professionalism/ character IS SERVING WHO exactly????
Thing is, Levy and AVB won’t stand for any jiggins so everyone stop worrying, what will be, will be.
I still miss chicken nuggets.
Just read daily mail with few quotes and none mention Ade by name just as I said a witch hunt from certain fans
Does seem to be something of a non story. He is due back on Friday according to the club, and AVB was never expecting him to play against Newcastle. Whatever this crap about the hotel and a private jet is, I cant really see why its any of our concern either way, so long as he shows up for training in Friday morning.
There you go then. given our lack of strikers its probably better to not rush the mentally fragile one back from africa.
i will leave the team management upto AVB
Don’t know why signed him permanently anyway..Oh I do..he was cheap..and no one else would touch him because of his previous. Why do we do it..
17 goals and 11 assists last season, that’s why he was a good buy. And with JD out, Ade might just rise to the challenge of taking on the lone striker role. or would you have preferred Hooper?
And this season, after he got his move.?
….not arguing with you there, but also think there are some mitigating factors…yep he should have been fitter when he arrived, I’m not sure the role he’s been given this season has been the right one for him, but now maybe as lone striker with Holtby behind we’ll see an improvement. If he scores a brace against the bar codes all the moaners on this site will be singing his praises, including HH
i hope he does! I will reserve judgement for a few more weeks then, for the mitigating circumstances you mention…by that time the season will nearly be done for and we can see wht we got for the money
…I’m with Ade on this…..I mean how many of you have actually flown internally on African airlines? But its probably not true anyway, cut the guy some slack
After thinking about for all of 10 seconds,I reckon a couple or three day’s rest chilling by the pool in a luxury hotel would be just the tonic for someone who’s just admitted he was shattered-where’s the problem?
Called it two days ago! rate him highly but he’s letting us down and this should be remebered in the summer when he should be let go (there’s an other Afro cup next season).clint and bale it is then.fuck him
What a crap story with no proper quotes from real sources. All this article proves is the writer hates Ade for one reason or another . most likely his origins at arsenal. Get over it.
Thanks for that Deano

Holtby was right then.
The supporters have taken to him so quickly.
He has to be the new messiah……
“It’s his duuuuuty…..he’s a missionaaaaary”
AVB said on Sky, ” Adebayor, we are trying to establish Flight connections, he had issues to attend to.”
When Ade reappears for training tomorrow do you think AVB might have arranged for Big Ron to be there to welcome him back?
“Obviously we have to take a look at him first. We don’t have any news regarding injuries from him, so he’s going to be selected for sure,” Villas-Boas said on Thursday.
“I have to make a decision whether he will be in the starting XI or not.” Villas-Boas also defended his decision not to ask Adebayor to return to the club sooner.
Asked if Adebayor had already returned, the Spurs coach said: “No. We’re trying to establish the best flight connections for him.
“He had issues to take care of as the tournament finished for Togo, so at the moment we’re trying to see if we can have him back either for today (Thursday) or tomorrow’s training session.
“I spoke to him Monday morning. I know where he is, I’m not sure if I want to make it public. I don’t think it’s strange. We’ve allowed the players two days off.
