Eunice & Bonzo: Enquiries Made?

Picture 299

Good morning.

Green shoots of recovery in football news as the quite horrible lethargy of last week ebbs away. That is if course if you ignore the bazillion column inches dedicated to whether Gareth Bale will join Real Madrid or not. I’ll dwell briefly on this only to ask, who do the cretins that churn this stuff out think their end user, their reader is? Most non Tottenham football fans couldn’t care if one of our players were to be hit by the ever proverbial bus, and no Spurs fan is going to plow through 400 words which become immediately apparent as being speculative tosh after the first paragraph.

If I can direct your attention to a piece which bucks the trend and is absolutely worth reading then try THIS from The Guardian. Quite effortlessly sketching an outline of how Spurs are functioning under Villas-Boas and where Bale fits into that template; rather than banging a a cake tin with a spoon whilst shouting, ‘£40m!, no £50m!’

Transfer tittle tattle? Well, if you believe numerous outlets this morning Spurs have rebuffed interest in Eunice Kaboul from Anzhi. Is this true? One would hope that was the case, but is this not just some unpaid intern trying to squeeze Samba’s departure to QPR and the fact that Kaboul hasn’t been kinked with anyone for an age into the same ill fitting, shop soiled shoe? I think it is.

Bonzo gets a mention too, remarkably. Mercato365 say we are in for Sébastien Corchia. Who he? Only Sochaux’s finest. And their right back to boot. Given I’d swap young Kyle for a ingrowing toenail, I pronounce this one a runner and wish to be the first to welcome him to The Lane.

  1. Read the guardian piece and agree it is a good piece and certainly bucks the trend. Let me ask you a question what percentage of stories would be wiped off of
The Internet if their was a bullshit filter and do you know where I could get such a thing?

  2. Is it possible to sign players out side the transfer window? Can you talk to them about transfers before the end of season? If no to both, that’s what I don’t get, how could they possibly know what the clubs are thinking. If its true about PSG, Barca ,RM,… then thats blatant tapping up and should be investigated. If the boy stays I’ll be delighted, if he goes for 60m I’ll be delighted also. Win/win for us!

    • HOW EXACTLY WILL IT BE A WIN WIN IF HE GOES

      • 60m million notes. Think of the players you could strengthen the team with. Nobody could have predicted this when he was a bad omen for us. I’d say thats win/win.

        • I don’t believe he will go this up coming season TBH!

        • There are NO world classplayers available for 60million who are ONLY 23 and so bale HAS to be unavailable.

I cannot see the logic: selling Balewill attract goof players? What a*&^^%%&U* idiot

          • What are you going on about you moron. Whos talking about WORLD CLASS PLAYERS. We’d have the money for the likes of Damiao, moutihno, etc… Your a fcuking idiot. Don’t waste my time.

            • Of course JimLad putting your golden egg in one basket is always a great idea…not? I’m with you, if a considerable bid came along and AVB was allowed to use it on getting 2/3 upgrades to bolster the team..and Bale want’s to go…it’s good business..no, it’s great business but I think he’s out of reach to all but 2 perhaps 3 teams in the world right now?

              • Yes mate, only a handful who could reasonably afford him. He’s a fabulous player. But between 50/70m for him would be a fabulous amount of wonga.

                • Sorry but its the height of naieivety to believe that said £50m+ would be ploughed straight back into the team.

Would vanish into a black hole as did the modric money. I’d rather spend another year watching Bale the beast thanks very much.

            • The problem is if we got 60m…prob 30 would go towards the stadium and we spend 30.So what can you get for 30m?

              Keep Bale

    • Of course you can. You can do deals whenever you like, the players just can’t actually move until the transfer window opens.

      • So they can sign for a club now and play later? Thought that could only happen if it was your last year of contract.

        • Or they’re out of contract like John Carew is and has moved to Inter today

          • Carew to Inter? Are they having a Giraffe? Bendtner to Juve? Anelka? Italian football is regressing.

This is what the English top div used to be like – a last stop on the long road of international journeyman players. Let’s lock all the doors from the outside next Thursday night, and let Bale loose on them, GLadiator style. At the end of the game I want him to stand in the middle of the pitch, Black and Blue striped body parts strewn across four corners of the fiield, then turn toward the Directors box, arms open in acceptance of Gods judgement, and say those immortal words “Are you not entertained!!!?”

  3. You’re absolutely right that there is so much lazy journalism put out to fill the tabloid press which together with ‘leaked’ self interest from agents and big clubs i.e Real,Barca and Manure deliberately putting out ‘feelers’ to their press friends to unsettle players they are interested in make its hard to sought out what may just be some story with value.
    Fcuk them

  4. I have been online for nearly 2 hours trying to get tickets for the Inter game. I thought our shirt sponsors were in the computer software business, sort it out!

  5. Leave Kyle alone, harry the Arsenal fan..

  6. f### the media and what they say, and well done to the boys especially Bale for getting the 3 points. If Sandro wasnt injured 3rd would be a certain. Hope Parker picks his game soon.

  7. And how could anyone afford Bale with the new FFP rules anyway

  8. Benny is clever but you dont have to be clever to be a right or left back. What you have to do is realize you are a back.
Once you have learned the discipline of being a back you then can go on to bigger and better things.
Creativity alone means nothing. It is a fleeting idea unless there is a discipline to go with it.
We seem to buy backs that really want to be wingers.
I havent lost faith in Kyle Walker. He doesnt have to be a brain surgeon. If somebody when he was younger would have told him never to go over the half way line until you actually can make sure the goal is protected, that you know where you marker is and understand that going over the half way line is a prize for defending well not an escape from defending well.He would be a star.AsI say you dont have to be a rocket scientist to be a back. Ditto Benny.
I love Bennys skills. Not only is he talented,he has a sense of irony around him.He sometimes plays with the player thats trying to get the ball away from him.If he was a basketball player he wouldnt be Michael Jordan,he would be a Harllem Globetrotter. But he is talented. But its ditto about being a defender first and then a creative player after you have learned the discipline.

  9. Young Adam smith is a smashing player so if walkers not up to it then hes next in surely ? A look at the yoofs be it u21,19,18 they are top of there lgs or there abouts.I think we now have the best set of young players in London (arse annals boys are getting buctered every week)shows there’s big savings to be made in terms of player recruitment.just need levy to show some balls and get us somone serious u top and of course keep monkey magic!

  10. O and its pretty clear the bennys not fancied by avb and rightly so.A head case of a footballer not without talent but we need steady eddies like slur Alex’s has with some real class in the final 3rd.

  11. Roofing Firm KGM has won a £3m contract to install roofing and cladding on the £400m Tottenham Hotspur development at Northumberland Park.

  12. IMO Kaboul is one of our best defenders and benefits from being able to fill in at RB if required. Walker is a bit of a liability, but the pros outweigh the cons and I think that in a couple of years he will be a better defender and learn when to attack and when to stay back. At the moment his speed covers his mistakes.

On the Bale media frenzy, I think it’s disgusting how he is being touted around – its like we have no choice in the matter, and that he will simply ditch us for the highest bidder. If this was happening to players at City, Utd, etc, there would be outcry from the Managers, so its to AVB’s credit that he is maintaining his dignity.

Personally I hope we qualify in 3rd, win the Europa Cup, keep Bale, but Moutinho, Leandro and win the league next season. Two fingers to the lot of em!

  13. I see building structures going up behind the Paxton is that the new ground or the Supermarket / housing anyone know defo

    • All buildings have been secured by Spurs and residents cannot lodge any appeals or delay the project any longer-there are still financial consideration to be addressed, but the Sainsbury end of the deal is now in motion-which is a major piece of the jigsaw. The biggest and IMO the most important aspect are the transport links and they’re nowhere near a resolution to date!

  14. Kyle Walker is shite, how he managed to get into our first team never mind an England cap is beyond reason. Ship as soon as possible, my eyes cannot take anymore

    • :Crazy2: :Crazy2:
As you are a world class coach you have convinced me. if only all those other coaches, pros and commentators could see the light of your wisdom

He is far from the finished product tho but your assessment is thicker than he is

  15. Kyle Walker is shit? Young player of the year last season, he has benen Hood lately. You people disgust me. Not helping, fuck off, Gooners in disguise!

  16. Kaboul had one of his best games he has ever had at the beginning of the season before he got injured.
The problem with Kaboul over the years was that it was difficult to discern what was his best position. He had talent with the ball but was an ok but awkward defender. last season he showed a lot more discipline about him and at the beginning of the season,in the game against Newcastle he was as good as Ive ever seen him.
Hopefully he can come back with that focus as we could do with it.
I wouldnt be selling anyone now,not even Kyle Walker.
Back in the sixties it was our glorious time.We had Peter Baker,Ron Henry and Terry Dyson. All Fulham type players, not glorious Tottenham players.AVB needs to tweak it a bit and get the defence more focused and everything will be fine.
On the other hand,Ade,is a great player.Very talented but totally immature. When will he ever learn, when will he ever learn….

  17. @been, and
    @good

Damn autocorrect. Almost as useless as bad ‘fans’.

  18. While we are about he,what has happened to Vert?
He has looked earlier in the season like the blue eyed boy of Tottenham but lately has looked slow and less interested.
Maybe he is another player that really wants to attack. We have too many defenders like that if thats the case.
Anyone have any ideas as to why he has been off?

    • Maybe he needs a hip operation?

    • dont know the reason but he was of immense human prortions until xmas but he is been getting rapidly worse since.

people havent noticed because they are too busy chasing walker with pitch forks and torches for the mistakes he made before christmas (and for not being a mensa member like all the other ‘members’ on here)

    • I think Verts problems, and relative lack of form stem from the constant changing of position. It’s not his fault, but Benny’s injury, and Naughton’s limitations as a right footer playing on the left have had him flitting between centre back and fullback. When he had a run at LB, he may have lost his CB mojo. It’s difficult, as I think he came to replace Ledders at CB, and wanted that spot, the one denied him at International level by Arses Vermin. Benny’s understandable ring rust (ouch!) means that Jan is still being spread thin, and somebody hit the nail on the head re utility players in the press lastweek, when they said that it takes a certain type of person to be an unquestioning Jack of all trades, master of none. I don’t think Jan is that sort of boy.

Once we have a regular, dependable LB, and Jan gets a run at CB I think he will go on to become a fixture, and future club captain.

      • I think you are proabably right on all counts there mate, I certainly would like to see the Jan of early season go from strnght to Strenght to club captain at CB

  19. Good article, nice read…I cannot believe people actually still write decent articles in newspapers.

  20. Have I been put on some kind of probationary watch list? All my posts seem to be getting put in the sin bin pending moderation these past couple of days. I’m scared that they will all appear with added declarations of my penchant for dogs anuses even if that hasn’t happened yet.

  21. Every time I get miffed with Walker I just remember Hutton and my urge to kill subsides.
Besides, none of our full backs have been particularly great this season.

We are truly blessed at CB and Kabooms return to the squad is something I’m really looking forward to. If we have to sell one lets not sell him, he looked great last season. We definitely have to move one of them on though but I imagine it’s Gallas who’ll be surplus what with him getting on a bit.

  22. The Guardian was always had excellent articles.
I do agree with it too.Im not a huge fan of a line that relies on the offside trap but I do think that AVB has done a great job in his organization.
There has been a change the past few games in the fact that Holtby though played a weaker game with the ball this week keeps moving and drawiing players out.It is offering more gaps in defences for Bale to seize.Ive been watching him off the ball and he is constantly pulling players out of postioning with his constant looking for space.
Before we seemed to be doing great till we get the the final third and unless it was a counter attack with an open field we seemed to be stopped at the box with everyone being marked. Sigg came on and added to the mix. Its coming together more now.I have no faith in Ade (although he is a talented player) but I think Dempsey when he comes back might start enjoying life at Tottenham as things are opening up down the middle

    • True. For all of Dempseys short comings he really has been more useful than Ade. It’s a shame, Adebayor is a technically gifted player but we’re not getting the best out of him. Maybe it’s the set up or system we play that doesn’t offer much service to the CF. We’re scoring from outside the box which leaves a striker as nothing more than a decoy. So maybe Ade is just a massively overpaid decoy, hence AVB wasn’t bothered about bringing in a new striker?

      • The simple fact that he’s actually on the field of play creates a problem for the opposition and space for others to take advantage of-I’m not and never will be a fan of his and I hope that’ a farewell into the sunset awaits him come the season’s end-but we’ve got him for now and he’s all we’ve got!

        • The truth is he cant actually be aaverage as he has been and scored so many goals as he has done in the past, can he?
If everything kicks each whatever he adds will be good. Sigg has been even less of a positive (but gets more respect) even though he had a good week and he is turning it around.Dempsey could add to the mix and give us some badly needed goals for the ‘others’

          • There is a problem there to be solved and I don’t think it’s exclusive to Adebayor. The only guy who we’ve put up-front and found any success is Defoe.

      • This myth that Adebayor is technically gifted seems to grow and grow, in defense of his lack of productivity. IF the opposition allow you to roam into non-threatening areas away from their goal with the ball, unmolested, then you are likely to look comfortable on the ball, but this should not be confused with being technically gifted. If Ade ever turns toward the opposition goal in the heat of a match with the ball at his feet, he invariably loses it but if he is tasked with holding it up to kill time at the end of a match then this suits his skill set.

What he needs to do, as with Holtby after Mondays game, is not try to do too much, and hold his position as the central striker. Holtby tried to do a bit too much against Wham, tried to cover too much of the pitch in his quest to impress, and as a result, the goals never looked like coming until Wham sat back, and we poured forward. By then Holts was shot, and had come off.

Ade has his plus points, but we are not seeing them at the moment.

  23. Raz’s treble of the Day

    Kyle Walker being sold
    LLL’s posts being Moderatied
The 9.55 from Fenchurch street arriving at Southend-on-sea 15 minutes late

    11-1

  24. With the exception of Manchester United every team in the top half of the table is or has been in some form of decline. Only Spurs have managed to correct a dodgy period and put in a good run – the rest simply haven’t moved on from last season. This is good management mixed with good fortune. Amazingly, if this trend continues we could by default end up in second place despite not having a enough depth in the squad to seriously challenge for the title. On the flip side, and assuming we keep Bale, our nearest rivals will actually have to spend money to keep up with us. However, we will still need to spend a tidy sum to chase Manu. So this is a very interesting moment for the club. We need fewer top quality players now to make a that leap forward than at any time over the last 20 years. But reinforcements are critical. I don’t want to beat up our own players but we have a core group of players who will win things and a core group of player who won’t. There is less maintenance to do now than ever before, this moment might not come again.

  25. This thread is a little dull. Are there any certified sociopath’s out there who would care to share their betting tips or cheap booze recommendations to pass the time for a while?

    • Poteen and cider mixed together it tastes like whisky,Bradford and St Miirren.
      Anything else squire?

      • That’ll do nicely. Only problem being I haven’t seen poteen since my old great grandmother passed away. She used to keep a bottle of the West Cork moonshine and slip it into her tea. N’er did her any harm and she lived to a ripe old age of 104. If I’ve got some of those genes it means I may be around for some time to come, which is surely good news for people who like my brand of moaning and bickering.

  26. Harry I think we need help here.LLL is belligerent again. He doesnt agree with your new Yoga style blog. You didnt explain to the whole poulace how you wanted to get away from the instant gratification of this blog and you align that with AVB’s new typoe of tactics like slow cooking.
Its true that Essexian arrived but he immediately fell asleep, Raz came here and though he would go to Willam Hill and have a bet and BC though that reading Solzhenitsyn might be more exciting.Infact I am going to watch The Bourne Identity again and see whats doing in the market. It seems that Bales price is raising by 10 mil each hour and soon it will be able the western world from from bankruptcy including Spain even though its Spain who may be buying him.

    • In all honesty RonWol, I’m getting a little tired of reading how shit we are despite being 3rd. I really can’t fathom out why some actually watch football or support Spurs for that matter? I’m not bothered too much about The Turd That Won’t Flush as it’s a idiot-but there are some who actually believe they know better and really can’t see what we are as a club and how brilliantly we’ve done in the past five seasons, it truly beggars belief

      • I dont disagree but Im not sure where you are coming from. For me I feel that criticizing is not such a bad thing.Where would be without critics (when I say we I mean the universal we). But I believe that apart from joking which lightens the situation and offers sometimes some irony (I Ronnie)l,that without criticism what would a blog be.Its a dynamic not simply propa and impropaganda.
So what is it,lets get to the point, dont beat about the bush and lets get on with it.What is it Exxian, what is in?
(not everythings so heavy is it?)

        • Being critical is fine, but it has to be at least a tadge realistic to balance the argument surely? We are, in comparison to our rivals very small indeed, but at the same time we’re expected to be able to compete on all levels, and in all ways, which is ridiculous to the extreme. You can still sense the anti AVB brigade chomping at the bit waiting for any opportunity to give it large-because they nailed their colours way back in August. It’s the same with players-I think both Dembele and Verts have suffered by the return of Parker in the side-but hat other options are available? None-but Sandro’s not going to return this season is he? Walker put in a good shift on Monday, not great but good, but it appears like Lennon he’s not allowed to be functional, he has to be brilliant-yet BAE who was so bad it was untue-is seen by some as brilliant?-no, I don’t get it either, anymore than I get Verts being chastised for not being a great LB, when he is after all a great CH?

          • I really have to say Vert was great earlier on but something has happened (Im talking LB or CB) I dont think its Parker though. He seems either tired or listless.
I agree we are doing ok. Critics by the way by nature are never happy. They are perfectionists and probably unhappy with themselves too.
But in a positive way people can be conttrauctive with criticiism cant they?
I mean point out an issue.
Overall I cant see where any Tottenham supporter would be unhappy with the situation. It wouldnt make sense. But have a view to making it better by seeing something that could make it better is ok and fair game I think.
BAE is latented and he has a sense of humour.I dont think he is a great defensive back though. I think most people like his character and that helps the acceptance.

        • Sometimes I struggle to understand what you are saying; the rest of the time I have no clue whatsoever.

    • I say we cut his brake cables. I’m an old fashioned blogger, Ron.

  27. Anybody that would be happy to sell Kyle Walker for anything less than a ridiculous amount of money is a fool! This lad is going to be one of the best right sided players the PL has ever seen in my humble opinion….. and I’m not saying that for reaction, I believe.

  28. >”The tabloids are garbage and should not be paid attention to”

    >”Oh there’s a tabloid story which fits my personal opinion? I’ll have some of that!”

  29. I’m currently drinking a Marks and Spencer pressed Pineapple Peach and Passion fruit juice. And I have a bottle of Evian beside me as ever. Water is one of the finest liquids in the world. In fact it’s a world class liquid. The juice is giving me acid indigestion, but it’s from M&S so I won’t complain.
Tune in later as I reminisce about the day I placed a bet. Just off to walk a dog.

    • I’m watching ‘Pointless’ at the moment but will be going out shortly to bring the horses in and I shall probably kill two birds and have a cigarette at the same time….a Marlboro Gold If I have to be specific, by the way my horses contain at least 57% horse meat….Later on I’ll be going to bed

    • I am shaking. The quality of ones life. All week you both talk about the only 90 minutes that really means anything to anyone here and look what you hit us with!
God if Harry was a scientologist he would straighten you both out for a start and send you both off for some camp for hard labour and Perrier

    • Been necking Tesco’s own sparkling Ashbeck all day. It’s no Evian but at roughy 30 pence per bottle when you buy a multi-pack of 6, who’s complaining, right? I once went into Ladbrokes in Brixton at 11am and it was absolutely rammed full of blokes all drinking tins of lager and smoking big spliffs as if it were some kind of underground illegal nightclub full of gambling stoned alcoholic stoners. I wish I could embellish the story with what bet I put on exactly but I really can’t remember, it was some years ago. But I’m fairly sure it was no more than a couple of quid on a football game and I’m positive that I definitely didn’t win.

I don’t have a dog unfortunately but I make up for it by often visiting the local park and following other dog walkers quite closely so I can kind of share their experiences. The other day I followed a man and his labrador for 15 minutes around Clissold park. The dog widdled on six trees and did two number two’s, once in the bushes near the entrance and another later on near the swings, just before the police turned up and took me away for the rest of the afternoon.

  30. We must win on Sunday.

    • At last through the bizzare wilderness of mentalism into the green fields of normality!

      • I beg your pardon Jim, but I for one spend the full week before a NLD in a pure state of mentalism, it’s the week after that you have to worry about…..

        • And god bless you for that Harts! Lets be honest now………….We are all shitting ourselves. Even the host is upsetting the guests. I’m just popping out to check on the penguins.

  31. got to go to work now see you later Sad&Lonely Be Happy Angel Heart :In-Love: I-m-in-love :Star-Struck: Angry :Amazed: Overjoy Worry Tounge-Out Wink Happy-Grin and my favourite saved for the gooners on sunday Bully

  32. If we beat the arse I expect them to go into free fall. They are a pretty poor outfit and haven’t beat us at the lane since adie was a goon.Far better teams then this lot have failed to beat us there.Still shitin them.why?

    • I don’t know who I’d rather see knocked out of the CL if we get it, Arsenal or Chelsea….
      Thinking

      • After some reflection I’d say definitely Arsenal, as it would hurt them much more. Chelsea could finish 17th and then buy the title the next year, doesn’t really make much difference to them.

        • Haven’t they been trying to buy the league for a few years now?
I know what you’re saying though, Arsenal don’t have a daddy rich pants to pay for the shiny new players. The financial hit would be massive for them.

      • I would say Id rather see the arse go down to the Isthmian League or even the toilet where I had previously had a ruby

    • To be fair, I think that bloke is a closet Spurs fan. Noticed him before…

      • Don’t think he’s that closet buddy, most of the papers were writing how he would fail. I think I recollect him saying the opposite. Keep going LLL. I for one love difference of opinion. Its why I’m back here! COYS

  33. A critic is somebody who knows the way but can’t drive the car.
Let’s be Happy & look forward to what the future may bring.

    • maybe he can drive the car but doesnt want to

In any case I dont think there is one person here who doesnt want us to win…..welll maybe one….no not him

  34. The multi million pound team is playinga boring game. Its one of the most boring games Ive ever seen.Their players are boring, their tactics are boring and their fans are boring and its 0-0.No classico this one.

  35. All elbows terry stirring it up with rafa, just as he did with avb,the fukn muppet.its him thats there downfall,delighted..as for le arsen whinger going nuts,so a win and ring the boys with the white coats,.i think avb will be backed big time, and he will fine tune the team, and bale kaboul not going anywhere, cant say the same about benny.coys 3-1

  36. Wheres Raz?

e’s obviously ‘ad a yankee off,4 ranks outsiders, wots the 3rd division of the A league called again? E’s ‘ad Darwin United again 15/8 to beat Tasmania Lunatics as his key bet,I bet

  37. I hear Pope Benedict is quitting the Vatican to manage Chelsea and Rafa is taking Mourinho’s job and Mourinho is taking over the Vatican. Cant wait for the Mourinhomobile

  38. homophobia. bloomin right

  39. Best chant for Sunday

You’re getting sacked in the morning, sacked in the morning

(Just to avoid any misunderstanding that’s Wenger losing his job. Not Wenger getting a wedgie. Wedgies are pointless when wearing crotch-less pance) Alledgedly.

  40. Wow…. Just watched Rafa’s rant….

New drama series … “The waiter, the racists and the despot”

He better be careful because people have had uranium pills dropped into their tea saying far less harsh things about Roman….

Still will be very nice if we’re singing “don’tcha wish your manager was AVB” at Stamford Fridge in a few weeks…. Night all… Or good morning for those working the early shift….

    • first time I seen it,nowhere near as bad as I expected

    • Wow.
I didn’t know Benitez was an interim! What a strange club. How long until Roman gets bored of his little blue racists and stops paying a fortune every season for ungrateful fans?

    • It was very repetitious on and on about the fans and snuck in many times the word ‘interim’

When asked if he felt disrespected he said he was a professional but the man is obviously an ego maniac but is not in the same leagiue as Mourinho as a manager. Mourinho could handle these things or leave with respect.

Doesnt a short contract indicate that you are interim until proven innocent????

      • I would of thought that given their ambitions plus track record they would automatically want to keep any new manager on a small contract at first.

      • But not an interim no… This is Rafa Benitez it’s not as if he’s shit at his job and shouldn’t be trusted. It’s more to do with the attitude of the fans and the clubs reluctance to really get behind their manager. Revealing that he’s nothing more than an interim is quite disrespectful imo.

But, who cares if they’re disrespectful? They have money why should they respect anyone? They can do whatever they want.

      • In actuality Benitez has such an ego he have read into it that he was the manager and the interim contract is only temporary till it gets sorted etc.Thats in his own mind.

In realiity Abramovivh was only testing him out

  41. Do not forget Walkers brilliant sliding tackle agaist West Ham that almost certainly denied them a goal, if AVB can improve Lennon, Bale etc he can do the same with Walker. We also should remember our history with full backs, we have had some shite – Atouba, Stalteri etc.

    • A fine point.

Vertonghen was great for the most part, but like Walker was caught by balls into space behind our full backs. This and hoofs to Carroll was their game plan.

The penalty came from that on Verts side, and he also lost Cole for their 2nd goal.

Yet we don’t slate him like Walker.

I think Vertonghen is fine player, my point is we need to be more patient and even handed with our young players.

  42. The BBC Sport section had someone from C*****a fanzine on this morning going on about the Benitez fiasco. Should the BBC be wasting licence fee payers money on someone who can’t string two sentences together? I am not referring to Benitez of course.

  43. The arse game is a six pointer. Its something Redknapp said about QPR’s games against their bottom of the table rival games but its true of us.So these big games are all 6 pointer games for us.

  44. “Oh Im really happy, really happy look at me how happy I am…when does the season end….who…who are we playing this week…Tottenham….oh fu……er IM happy”
