Deeply unpleasant news breaking on Twitter initially anyway that Spurs fans drinking in The Smoking Dog public house in Lyon have been attacked, Lyon fans identified.
At this stage the extent of the situation is unknown but numerous on the scene eyewitnesses are confirming that chairs were thrown through a window of the bar. Unconfirmed reports of bottles and chairs being thrown at fans. Ambulances are now in attendance.
A french woman @Lestartelettes who describes herself as a Community Manager has just Tweeted that ’100 masked hooligans’ were under her window at Lyon St Paul at The Smoking Dog.
The French lady is now saying that firemen have arrived…

About 4 years ago I was caught short for a place to watch a Tottenham game,The game had already started and I had to settle for the nearest pub in Kings Cross.When I got in the whole pub was full of EDL members,crosses of St George everywhere,I got a shock but settled down to watch the game with one ear listening to the chat around me.I left that pub happy with a Spurs victory,but even happier at standard of idiot who joined these things.

I see Harry Kane has just joined Leicester on loan. Given the scant numbers in attack, I can only assume this means AVB has very little confidence in him. Although he has signed a new 4 year deal, though that may be to protect his value when we sell him to a championship club. Still, it would seem that there would be some possibility of him getting some minutes between now and the end of the season so it is a bit of an odd one.
