Moussa Dembèlè needs a rest. I’m no GP but I worry that he might need more than just a rest. Ever since he came close to having, but didn’t then require surgery, on his hip, we’ve only seen flashes of what he has to offer. He’s not 100% fit and fingers crossed this is something that will respond to physio.
Scotty Parker needs a break too. The bickering as to whether he’s suddenly rubbish is something I find a bit wearing. Sandro became knackered doing the job of two men and he’s got years on PNB. One of the perpetual gray areas at Spurs is who is supposed to do the defending. Give them a free kick and suddenly we have 6 or 7 specialists lining up to show us their wares. When possession is lost, try looking for those doing much more than impressions of defenders and you’ll struggle to see half that number.
Holtby needs a full start. He’s clearly as keen as custard. So I’d pair him up with Siggy. This would provide a nice balance. Both are as fit as butcher’s dogs and full of ideas.
Adebayor needs an award winning performance. Lots of wasted time to make up. If Bale has a good game then we look forward to another 72 hours of made up stuff in the papers, all ignoring his contract until 2016 and the fact that the window is closed. ‘Real Madrid Plotting’…yep, all that. Again.

Because of the first and the goalie’s fear of the movement of the ball he waited until it was too late to move. Umtiti scored the best goal i’ve seen this season, a full blooded half volley which he kept low and with connsumate precision drilled it into the top corner of the net, brilliant technique, and he’s only 19, is he World Class or a Great Prospect ?

For an hour Walker and Benny preformed above expectations. Freidel was a safe pair of hands. Ade and Dempsey are like Traffic Cones, just another obstacle for Bale to traverse. The rest were average, Parker looked like a proper Captain in the first half, led with Industry and Grit but tailed off in the second half.
Substitutions were the right players at the right times although Holtby and Siggy had little worthwhile input they did help maintain the Tempo.
Bale stole the show again with a brace of World Class strikes that will have the Media in a frenzy this morning.

It is fun to watch Bale’s game developing. Only weeks ago people on this site were complaining of his listless performance and were ready to go on and sell him to RM for whatever he would fetch. Today he is “world class.” Hate to say it, but Auntie Wenger’s more cautios assessment is more accurate.
If Gareth continues on this torrid pace through the end of the season he will be world class. Then he will be in Ronaldo’s rank. RVP has raised MU’s game and made them champions again. That ‘s world class. Here’s hoping the boy Bale does the same for the mighty Spurs.

On the world class thing. All Wenger is saying is that he isn’t in Ronaldo and Messi’s league yet. I don’t think many are claiming he is, or ever will be. I also detect a whiff of mischief however, as he mentions everything that Messi has won and saying Bale has a lot to prove. I think he’s not so subtly trying to join the media and pundit throng that are keen to see him sold on somewhere – and soon. No wonder that he is – right now our taffy wunderkind is the single biggest threat to Arsenal’s CL status.

The big moment for Bale recently was when he picked up the ball in the centre circle at Norwich. Tettey kicked him pretty badly (e.g. Adams, Petrov) and he was entitled to go down. He didn’t go down – he powered on and buried a great shot. That always stuck in my mind about Ginola – could have stayed on his feet more.
Bale reached a tipping point – play the percentage game, take the free kicks and risk more bookings (7 already) for simulation. Alternately, push this body up through the gears – take the pain, bag the goals and see what standard I can get to.
