Manchester City have just Bernado Silva from AS Monaco for £43m.

‘Bloody sheik money! Thank goodness Spurs are doing things the Tottenham way!’

Financial Fair Play appears to have passed Spurs fans by …unless of course they choose to reach for it like a toddler reaches for its blanky when insecurity strikes.

In the 2015/16 season Man City turned over £391.8m.

This was comprised from TV-rights income, sponsorship, ticket sales and all commercial activities, when then manager Manuel Pellegrini’s team finished fourth in the Premier League and reached the Champions League semi-finals for the first time.

The total wages paid to players and staff were approximately £196m, 50% of total income. The additional installation of 8,000 seats helped increase capacity to 55,000 at the Etihad.

Total income from matches in the 15/16 season increased 21% to £52.5m, TV income was up 19% to £161.4m, and the club stated their commercial earnings, mostly sponsorship, were slightly up, 3% to £177.9m.

For the 2016/17 season, Man City’s TV revenue was a little under £15omillion.

So unless you can provide evidence to support money from blood diamonds, people trafficking or perhaps aliens, explains me how Levy is such a sensational chairman (not going bust doesn’t count, by the way) because I don’t see how having 21,000 more seats is the game-changer here.

Financial Fair Play was introduced in September 2009.

Since September 2009, (when Financial FairPlay was introduced) City have won the Premier League twice (2011/12, 2013/14) the FA cup once (2010/11), the League cup twice (2013/14, 2014/15) and the Community Shield (2012) once.

Could it possibly be that this club’s success has not been sustained by financial irregularity, but by popularity generated by winning stuff?

An assortment of 6 pots and pans whilst the lift sniffing time waster was busy filling his days alternating between bickering with Archway (Kebab Rotisseries International Inc.) and bugling more transfers than one would’ve imagined humanly possible in one lifetime.

Pep is looking to close the gap? The evidence suggests he won’t have a long wait/there is no gap worth talking about.
