5 Stats For Poch

By The Boy -

Spurs should have scored more goals

23 shots and only 9 were on target.

I bet the rest of our Group will be having trouble sleeping.

Another big possession small achievement game

Averaging 65% of the ball, what did with we do with it?

Well, according to this graph, we scored twice and then thought about falling asleep in front of a nice fire.

Eriksen had a stinker

Not even Aurier could lose possession as consistently as our great Dane.

Anyone would think we were rushing him back from injury because the squad was down to its bare bones, eh?

We know who the fighters are

One of my favourite stats is recoveries.

These men are the ones you want to go into battle with.

They take no prisoners and leave nobody behind.

Alderweireld, Winks, and Sanchez are the pick of the platoon.

Moura & Aurier need coaching

Challenges show us who is working hard, opposed to waiting to be passed to.

Moura and Aurier are grafters but the net achievement from both is routinely questionable.

Poch, get on it, son.

Nobody could ever be as bad as Aurier was last night.

Also Davies while not being very good this season doesn’t have a record of giving away pens and found illegal throw ins. Davies is a safer option out of the two but neither are really good enough.

Aurier has an element of comedy about him he’s so all over the place.

Greetings, dilly.

Spurs defensive face could change massively over January and summer windows.

Alderweireld – up in the air.
Vertonghen – only signed through June. Injured until almost Christmas. Age 31.

Danny Rose – can he stay healthy ? can he stay happy ? (most bets are on NO)

Davies – has regressed a bit, but is also played out of his comfort zone.

Trippier – erratic. Wonderful or scatterbrained, defensively needs a bit more to his game.

Aurier – honestly have no idea where he or his ceiling is. he is an odd call.

Dembele – similar to Vertonghen. injured til 15 January. Free in July. Age 31

This leaves Dier as a forced mainstay, KWP as a hope/prayer, Sanchez as the anchor, and Winks as much more involved.

interesting windows upcoming.

It was an Aurier shaped hole that lead to the corner we conceded from. Total lack of concentration in the first frigging minute.

Eriksen had to tell him he should be filling in the right back position during one of PSVs attacks. Jesus.

PSVs right back played well, he was called Dumfris or some similar sounding Scottish town.

The reason Winks, Sanchez and Alderweireld had the most recoveries is because PSV parked the bus and every time they cleared it, the ball went straight to one of our CBs or the DM, with no PSV attacking players around them. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a huge fan of those three players, but that stat has absolutely nothing to do with grafting.

Haaaaaa you have to watch the City goals. There’s something that’s encapsulates modern football and the career of Rahim Sterling with absolute crystalline perfection.
Sterling is through on goal, instead of shooting he kicks the ground like the flump he is and falls flat on his stupid face………….and the ref gives him a penalty. Gimp. But worth canonising.

Via BBC website:

Tottenham have been warned by an advertising watchdog after a promotion which claimed their new stadium would be the “only place in London” to watch Champions League football this season.

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has sent the club an advice notice and told them to avoid making claims they cannot fulfil.

F a r c k i n g embarrassing.

Imagine if we were on the points the quality of our footie so far this season really merited. Poch and the players continue to protect Levy from all he is due. He must thank God twice a day and three times on Fridays. Getting away with it doesn’t even begin to describe..
