Gladys tells me that Tottenham Hotspur Football Club have received at least 2 firm bids for the boy Mason, both plus one or two other rather speculative enquiries.
I like Mason, however that’s a sentiment shared by few it seems. For every positive comment I read about the lad, there must to be at least six less than positive.
Apart from me, I struggle to see anyone else prepared to brand N’Jie a flop.
Apparently those keep the faith for him have a better understanding of the player than even those that had the misfortune of trying to watch him play football for Lyon.
I wonder what the Venn diagram of this paradox would love like?
Mason was thrown in at the deep end and has occasionally struggled.
Last season he made 22 league appearances, of which 14 were from the bench.
The 25 year old has also had a niggling ankle issue to contend with.
It strikes me that if we are to give players a chance to be developed, then they need to show us something, however modest to warrant the indulgence.
For me Mason has done this.
