Home » £16Million

Well here’s a little blog which those of a nervous disposition might wish to abandon now.

It’s started.

Perhaps in order to set the tone of our transfer activity from the very beginning, our budget for this summer’s activity is £16million.

For clarity, this is the money that is earmarked for upfront payments.

So if Spurs want buy two players that cost £19million, they are perfectly able to.

Just as long as the sales consisted of no more than say two payments of £8million up front, and the remaining balances were then paid in instalments.

This may well not include monies raised from player sales, of this Gladys was uncertain.

What we do know is that what have to sell is of modest worth to put it mildly.

We also know that the world has changed in respect of football transfers and one time small fry like West Brom are now in receipt of such buoyant TV revenues that they are no longer tolerant of Levy’s mentally debilitating HP agreements.

With this lack of ambition, fingers crossed that none of our so-called rivals significantly rearm themselves…

And fingers crossed the Champions League turns out to be easier than the Europa League.
